It's a natural reaction, but they're raised in a game farm, and in any farm you have to cull the herd anyway. So if tourists weren't shooting them, the farm's resident hunter would be doing it in any case. We get to make sure we have plenty of our natural fauna, foreigners can experience a hunt, and the meat doesn't go to waste. It's symbiotic.
Nature doesn't discriminate based on beauty or looks. Lions and other predators certainly do not. Human beings are also predators and are also part of this world's ecosystem and the cycle of life.
Now I'm realizing why people used to pray and look at their kill/meal as a blessing/sacrifice. The food industry has certainly taken a lot away from us..

Another way to think of it is that when you remove one animal from the government park, that frees up enough ecological resources (land, food) for an extra animal to grow to replace it. And the population in the government park will stabilize again at whatever level it would have been if you hadn't removed the animal in the first place.
As long as you don't remove too many animals at once (drive the population so low that it can't replenish itself quickly enough to counter your removal rate), the process is sustainable without impacting the population or the ecological balance. It's how fisheries are managed (though fish reproduce a lot more quickly).
@@solandri69 All I see are excuses for hunting wildlife. I'm South African and you can rest assured that meat isn't reaching any "poor locals". Why hunt Zebra or Giraffes? Why not hunt Springbok (antelope) which are in abundance and actually taste good?

It takes a lot of guts to show everyone the good side of hunting in our current world setting. Thank you for taking the plunge and showing the good that hunters do for the ecology of an area.
This isn’t the good side
@@rea9305 yes it is they make sure predators don't rip them apart while they are still alive or die from starvation. It's alot more humane than most farms where they give them very little room and just fatten them up.
@@rea9305 They are stabilizing the local animal populations and bringing back several from the brink of extinction. They only allow hunting the elderly and feeble which would be brutally torn apart by a predator in the wild, and they demand a certain level of skill in the hunt to make sure the animal doesn't suffer. That seems like the good side to me.
@@rea9305the animal gets to live a full and natural life without almost any interference from humans. It’s a form of farming, and should be recognized as such. And it’s a lot more natural and humane than a lot of modern meat farming methods.
I hate to say it, but an animal in Africa isn’t any different than an animal anywhere else. They aren’t more sacred. They are animals. All animals should be respected and hunted sustainably and humanely.
Plus they really aren’t doing anything that nature wouldn’t do. Watch a pack of wild painted dogs hunt and kill an animal. It’s brutal.
@@grapicusdrinktus But dont this cause predators have less food

I don’t know y’all, killing a zebra to eat seems so wrong in my soul😢 They’re so beautiful and peaceful but it was nice seeing something very different. Definitely didn’t expect this one so I can appreciate it for that for sure. Always coming with some genuine content 🫡
It's symbiotic.
its disgraceful it hurts to see
Nature doesn't discriminate based on beauty or looks. Lions and other predators certainly do not. Human beings are also predators and are also part of this world's ecosystem and the cycle of life.
@Sylvana Hall try watching a group of hyenas eat that zebras guts while he's still alive. The 30 second death is a blessing.
Shut up ! you guys buy meat in the shop but can’t handle where meat comes from. Bunch of snow flakes
Now I'm realizing why people used to pray and look at their kill/meal as a blessing/sacrifice.
The food industry has certainly taken a lot away from us..
Sonny came for the food but i guarantee he enjoyed the experience here in South Africa 🇿🇦

I think the fact that the hunter didn’t want to use the drone as soon as things got a bit difficult. It shows that they respect these animals and want to give them a fair fight.

Love every single content of your videos, Sonny. Always respect the culture and traditions and foremost, you educate us to see things differently. Merry Christmas to you and your team!
May I ask what culture and traditions he's respecting, by featuring the owners of a big game reserve meant for killing? What traditions do you think specifically are on display in this video? Did the American owner of the game reserve display a lot of SA culture for you?
I don't understand comments like this - he gave a platform to owners of a trophy hunter reserve, who arguably disrespect the SA culture more than anyone else.

Thank you Sonny. For appreciating the animal that you took. It is something that 99% of hunter's do. enjoy.
I really don't see any problems with this. The money goes back into the wild life preservation, the killed animal is all used and the important balancing act is the main thing.
Hunting is natural and when it's done this well, you have to be just ignorant to still protest it. They aren't killing endangered species for fun.

I think was a good hunt for you. Not everyone can make the perfect shot every time, even as an expectorated hunter. The fact that you followed instruction to make a follow up shot to end the animal, commendable. The sole purpose of hunting is to obtain meat and to limit the animals suffering.
