I bought these recently and they were so easy to work with! I soaked them in hot broth, squeezed the liquid out, and pan fried it with leftover rice to make stir-fried rice. I'm not vegan, but it was so close to chicken, maybe even better because there was no weird gristle! I've been slowly but surely making non-animal swaps in my diet

I bought the 12# box about 2 years ago. I divided into smaller portions and vacuum sealed them. I don’t have lots of freezer space but kept in cool basement. They’re still fine. Last week I made chili. This week I experimented and made a casserole recipe to use for Thanksgiving. I’ll definitely use this recipe because it was delicious.
By the way, I have an old salad spinner that works wonders for draining the liquid and then, because i included vegan chicken flavor w/ the hot water, I mixed that liquid in a gravy recipe. Win/win day.

Thanks, Kathy! I'm Flexitarian, but I'm trying to make sure I get enough protein (and enough interest) with my meals and these look like an good way to make that happen, without needing to use meat. I just saw Butler's soy curls at a local health food store, last week, and I put them on my shopping list. I like that you showed two methods of cooking them that I had not seen, before. I appreciate all the tips! Also, if there's anyone out there who can't tolerate nutritional yeast, I have used a combination of granulated garlic, turmeric, salt, and a dash of pepper, to get a chicken flavor, without having to use that. Blessings!

On a video, they removed the powder at the bottom of the bag of soy curls using a strainer to take out that nasty soy taste. I tried this and it works. Thanks for the great recipes. I can't wait to try that instant pot "chicken" soup/stew.

I'm in Canada and I looked for soy curls recently. Walmart carries them, but they have to be ordered online. I believe the 8 oz. bags are around $7.99. Amazon Carries them, but the 8oz. bag is 15.99!!! There is a Canadian vegan online store that carries them around the $7.99 mark, but shipping costs are added to that. In the end I found a local health food store that sells them for $6.99! My search is over.

Recently, I started thinking about how the water used to replenish them changes color ... and started wondering if there was any nutrient loss happening. Do you know if I can use the water/broth used to replenish soy curls for cooking something else?
