Worth saying that unlike other meat replacement products, soy curls are 100% whole soy bean, complete with fiber, etc. Just processed wtih water and heat.

This will so be on my table in a few days or so! I recently discovered Butler soy curls and I am having fun (yes, fun!) making all sorts of delicious dishes. I stopped eating fried rice at restaurants because their almost universal overuse of oil but now I can regulate my own amount of oil. Thanks so very much for the great recipe!!!

I absolutely love your recipe videos. So happy I found your channel.....good vibes. Your rice cooking technique is also very good at removing extra arsenic from the grains.

Looks delicious! Butler soy curls are the best. I have been using them for many years. Your brown rice recipe is worth a try.

This was great. I love no oil or low oil vegan cooking and just discovered soy curls last year myself!

I think I will try this. The soy curls look a little like Chicken strips.
I am definitely enjoying your oil-free pan cooking. I have already made a pasta that way (not quite what you have done, but using the same veggies and oil-free cooking).

Why did you say soy sauce is not plant based or vegan? It's made from soy beans and wheat. Some brands may add animal products but I don't think most do.

Yes. I was corrected a while back and unfortunately cannot change the video.

@@PlantBasedBistro Thanks for the clarification. I was worried there for a while, even though most soy sauces I get are clearly labelled vegan. Love the recipe by the way!

The reason most WFPB people use replacements for all the sodium in soy sauce, but it is vegan.

Is there a reason you chose to rehydrate the soy curls with water than with your veggie broth?

Not really. The broth would be a better choice actually.

Are those soy curls organic? I’ve been using frozen shelled edamame in my fried rice.

The company says they are made from non gmo soybeans raised without pesticides.

You can soak the curls in broth and then sauté in broth until browned and the vegan chicken broth will give them more of a chicken flavor.

No oil cooking, but you added sesame oil to your sauce?

Sigh... yes, a small amount as it's a flavoring. Don't use it if you don't want to.

Why is soy sauce/tamarin not vegan?

    • @PlantBasedBistro
      @PlantBasedBistro  ปีที่แล้ว +3

It is. I misspoke. It's not gluten free. Tamari is gluten free however.
