      @Layne I own 2 hyundais and 2 Genesis and they have been far much more reliable than the German cars ive own or any other car I've own at that ,so I can't agree with you there. Those 4 cars have not got me stuck or stranded not one. That's my personal experience.

    I just got new Genesis g70 3.3t Sport prestige. Absolutely love it. I traded my Mercedes C class in for it. No regrets!

      Well, one is a sedan the other one is an suv, so it depends on your preference. The g80 is faster.. They're both a great choice.

    Fantastic drag race. The Cadillac seems a lot louder than the Genesis. I bet myself a fountain soda that the Cadillac would win because the 2.7l is new and has boat loads of torque. I lost, but still buying a fountain soda.

    That 4-banger in the caddy is pretty impressive, 380 lb ft of torque is nuts. I have the exact same G70 color/trim except RWD. For $40k (circle pricing), it was a no brainer. Shame the weather wasn’t sunny. Colors would really pop for both models.

      For a 4 banger, the not-so-light Caddy keeps up pretty well to a higher-performance Twin Turbo V6. I'm impressed with both vehicles!

      It isn't really a "V" series. I have the same turbo 4 in my Buick Regal Premium II ; it is quick, but it is no "V".
      I think Cadillac just stuck that "V" on the CT4 label just to promote / induce sales of that car; piggy-backing off of the CTS-V image.
      That is a risky strategy for any product brand, utilizing a recognizable respected label to promote sales while delivering a watered down product standard of that label. It will likely end up degrading the image.

      You don't have the same turbo 4, unless you swapped engines. The CT4 V has a 2.7t not a 2.0t. The 2.0t creates 250 hp with 260 lb-ft of tq. The CT4 V creates anywhere from 309 to 325 hp and up to 430 lb-ft of tq. Depending on which vehicle you get. The turbos are not even the same. The 2.7t has a dual volute turbo whereas the 2.0t has a twin scroll turbo.

      To be honest this is embarrassing for Caddy before someone say engine size bullsh*t the G70 have better interior , options , faster , better design and above that the genesis as a company are better in daily use they ranked above Caddy in trim of less issues while used so i don't know why would anyone will take this Caddy over any car in it's segment not only this one but ALL Cadillacs are waaay behind the competition all of them have cheap low quality and outdated interior ((the only Great Cadillac currently is the Escalade it's sooo good that it maybe the best 7 seats car i ever see in front of me))

      @@lakb2482 yes compared to most 4 door sedans. I wouldn't recommend the G70 if you want your rear passengers to feel spacious. The G80 gives you a little more room in the back a little more horsepower to compensate the larger size car

      Personally coming from 09,10 & 12 4.6 v8 genesis. I wasn't even entertaining the 3.3t. Thought I'd go r-spec in the newer models until I had to move a 3.3t awd advanced..
      BLEW MY MIND..
      Let's just say I was on a few over night test drives .. I also have the dealerships fuel cell key..
      Probably put in 1,500 miles over a weekend between Orlando & St. Augustine lmao 🤣

    If we're to pick one has to be the G70!! But the CTS 4 looks nice 👍!! Quite ride cause 2.7 vs. 3.3 it's huge difference and the G weights almost 200 pounds More and 2 gears less the the CTS 4 is impressive Great Sam.

    Awesome race. These cars are VERY close in terms of dimensions (with the exception of weight), so I dunno why some people are saying this wasn't a good match. They are both compact luxury sedans. The results don't surprise me, as the Genesis/Stinger's 3.3 turbo 6 is apparently under rated on power and torque. I'm actually surprised the Cadillac kept up in some instances.
    Would love to see a Kia Stinger versus CT5-V (non-blackwing) if you can get them together. Both of those cars have relatively similar dimensions as well. The CT5-V has more torque officially, but again the Stinger seems to be underrated from factory so I wouldn't be surprised if it actually had more torque.

      Idk what you mean by saying that the G70s engine is underrated. This engine has been out since the last gen. It's performance is well known. A race between a Stinger & a CT5-V would theoretically be the same as the Genesis G70 and the Stinger GT2 share the same engine and trans but the Stinger is slightly heavier. Unless you're talking about the 4 cyl Stinger, the results won't be much of a difference.

      @@mutualdecline2174 When I say underrated, I mean it in the literal sense. It makes more power than Genesis/Kia claims. Go look up stock dynos for the G70 and Stinger. The car is making more torque to the wheels than advertised. Some dynos show more hp to the wheels too, but the torque is definitely underrated. The advertised numbers are at the crank, but the cars are making that much torque (i.e. 370-ish) to the wheels.
      I think you have underrated confused with underestimated.

      @@Maljey Bro all manufacturers cite "engine crank HP"...Dyno's on the other hand measure HP from the wheels which are always higher than when measured from the crank. This engine has been out for more than 6 yrs. The only car manufacturer in this segment that has underrated its performance numbers is the BMW M340i which is a b58 inline 6 that has higher crank, higher wheel hp & faster 0-60 than what BMW actually claimed. Genesis performance claims & their 0-60 claim was always accurate and considering that they're trying to pull consumers from BMW, Mercedes & audi as the new kid on the block, it would be illogical to underrated any aspect of their cars

      @@mutualdecline2174 nah dude. Seriously go look up stock dynos for the Stinger and G70 turbo 6 engines. Their wheel torque is putting out the same numbers as the advertised crank torque. So Kia/Genesis has underrated the crank torque number. It doesn't matter if it's a smart move by them. It's what they decided to do. They are doing the same as BMW and Audi.

      @@Maljey What I would suggest u do is Google the difference between wheel & crank torque and if they ever produce the same numbers. It also appears that u have a misunderstanding of what a dyno actually is. A dyno test circumvents a cars computer to unlock various levels of of power that was restricted from factory. There are stages to dyno's as far as how much psi u want to unlock & can be doing without any mods. U get the most out of engines that are turbocharged. This is probably what you're confusing the manufacturer numbers with. I'm very well aware of how dyno shops work & I'm very well aware of Stinger mods like jb4 & they're dyno tests. The g70/Stinger specs has been well known to the performance community for 5+ yrs. No dyno test involving these cars are new

    Great comparison! I expected more from the G70 but I don't think it's designed for hard driving. Surprising how noisy the Caddy is or does it have the sound pumped through the audio? The price difference is ridiculous, 1K in the US, 8K, how does that make sense? Both very nice rides.

      It’s not pumped as far as I’m aware. I saw one in person Cadillac just did a nice job with the exhaust in the ct4 and 5 v. I checked out the ct5 v and it had a nice growl for a v6 and the ct4 v as you saw as well has a nice growl.

      In the quarter mile, through REAL testing not a fun little casual TH-cam video, the Cadillac runs a 13.2 and the Genesis runs a 13.1
      Only a 0.1s difference..

    To be honest the G70 sounds quite insulated and you hear less engine noise, but it’s about time kia/genesis refresh that engine for more power. If they can push it to 400hp it’s gonna be really good

      Not if the governments of the world don’t update the electrical power grids. It’s not sustainable at the moment. So this will be a repeat of the 70’s when muscle cars were supposed to be ended for good. We all know how that turned out. There are documentaries all over the web explaining why the world isn’t ready for full electrification.
      Car manufacturers can stop producing sports cars but for all the ones people already have… we will be enjoying our rides for years to come either way it goes. And gas stations aren’t going anywhere any time soon.
      Go watch a documentary because I’m not asking anyone reading this to believe me. All the facts are there.

      Yah they leave a lot on the table with the 3.3. But they tune it down for warranty purposes since they offer a 100000 mile warranty. But a simple plug in tune will bump the turbos from 11psi to almost 20, on 93 octane and push 420hp and 450 lb ft of torque with 0 mods

      I have a 2022 3.3t sport prestige and trust me in sport + when the valves of the exhaust open the up shift pops are very noticeable in the cabin and outside its louder than you think. you can hear them very well in the cabin and especially with windows down or on a back road. Not to mention when the exhaust gets hot or its a hot day the pops are a bit louder :). But again genesis is not making the exhaust like an m340i 2020 with all the burbles because the g70 doesn't attract that target market of buyers for that type of exhaust

    I’d take the Cadillac because although both cars actively have recalls on them only the Genesis has one where the antilock brake system could short circuit and cause a fire.
    Edit : even though the Korean automakers Kia and Hyundai have taken designers from top auto manufacturers like Audi and BMW they continue to use sub par parts and have been plagued with 5.8 million recalls over the last few years due to engine fires.

      Edit: it’s one of the same recalls on the Kia Stinger but the Kia stinger has a total of 3 recalls .

    Cadillac may be slightly slower but the Caddie has so much more character than the Genesis. I bet the Cadillac may be a little slower but has a way better chassis. I’d still take the CT4 V. Looks like a bad ass daily. Would love to see the base 4cyl Supra against the Gold R, Elantra N, or Civic Type R. See is the base Supra is the hottest 4 cylinder that nobody is talking about.

      @Cody Underwood I cross shopped both CT5V and g70 both fully loaded. The CT5V was nice and roomier especially in the second row but g70 was a little nicer (interior) but cramped in second row…especially if you’re a taller person like 5’10 or taller (I’m 5’7 and my family is shorter than me so backseat works for us). They both drove similar which is saying a lot especially for g70 cause CT5V has the magnetic ride. On paper g70 is faster in both 0-60 mph and 1/4 mile if I’m not mistaken. I pulled the trigger on g70 cause Genesis was willing to negotiate more than Cadillac. If you test drive g70 make sure it’s 3.3t engine with sport prestige package cause it includes Brembo brakes, LSD and active dampers. FYI I got my 2023 g70 3.3 RWD with both sport prestige and advanced packages for $58K and that’s fully loaded. The CT5V was $70K fully loaded! ✌🏼

    The ct4 runs a 13.2 and the genesis runs a 13.1 no way in hell did it lose by that much.....lol something seems fishy on this channel whenever anything is matched against a Hyundai or kia.

      G70s only run that in magazines because of there fake launch control. They trap way 108-109 wayhigher then ct4. G70/stinger do 12.8 easy in the 1/4 all day even with fake launch control.

      I think its because ct4v runs a 13.2 in the 1/4 rear wheel drive only. This car being used is an awd which is both slower than the rwd version and heavier. The 3616 curb weight is actually for rwd and awd is more like 3780 so almost same weight.

    Did you use launch control from the dig? Not sure it would have made any difference at all thou. The TT ct4 BW on the otherhand may provide differemt results. But pricewise the V serirs seems more of the contender.
    Maybe you can find a G70 with their base 2.5T motor and race again? Seems more of an similar comparison a 2.5t vs 2.7t?

      To be honest this is embarrassing for Caddy before someone say engine size bullsh*t the G70 have better interior , options , faster , better design and above that the genesis as a company are better in daily use they ranked above Caddy in trim of less issues while used so i don't know why would anyone will take this Caddy over any car in it's segment not only this one but ALL Cadillacs are waaay behind the competition all of them have cheap low quality and outdated interior ((the only Great Cadillac currently is the Escalade it's sooo good that it maybe the best 7 seats car i ever see in front of me))

      I've driven both these cars. The CT4-V has the better transmission and suspension. It feels like a sports car. The 3.3T has a more floaty suspension. The aesthetic design of the G70 is better but the materials are about equal. Both use good quality leather and the seats in both are really good. The fully digital display in the Cadillac is better. The G70 (3.3T) is also about 10k more.
      Get the CT4-V if you want a sport car with some luxury, get the G70 if you want a luxury car with some sport.

    The Caddy is nice...but no question I'd take the Genny G70. Perfect blend of styling, performance, handling, quality, tech and amazing warranty to boot. The price savings is just gravy. I might even take it over the C-Class and 3 Series given the reliability might be better with Genesis.. Awesome vid as always..
