I had that NDC on my Grom for 16,800 with religious chain adjustments every 250mi (so 67ish adjustments) and never one had a c-clip issue like you mentioned; thing worked perfect and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

I have those NDC adjusters on my Grom and so far, I haven't had any issues with them. However, I only used them a couple of times since I don't ride as often anymore. In theory, when you tighten the chain, there is no load on the retaining clip. However, when you loosen the chain, there is thrust on the clip. I can see how they can pop off but if you push the bolt/ allen key inwards, it should alleviate that issue. I haven't personally tried this out, but it's worth considering
True, I probably should clarify that tightening the chain will pull the tension forward and wouldn't pop the bolt out, moreso when you loosen the chain. Still not something I want in an aftermarket chain adjuster.
Completely understandable. We work hard to purchase these things and it's always good to hear differing opinions. Who knows, maybe when I use it more, I'll run into the same issues that you had
