Thank you Sebastian. This was a very comprehensive history and sometimes the tragedy of unisex fragrances. Some fragrances have been lost, even though they are shadows of their former selves. There are of course, male targeted fragrances that women have worn since the beginning. Jicky and Caron’s Eau Champagne come to mind. Designating fragrances as unisex seems to have opened the whole of the fragrance world to releasing so many of their scents scents as man/woman. If you pay attention to the notes you like, rather than the label you have an easier time finding a fragrance targeted to you!
I’m with you, Sebastian. If I like the notes of a fragrance I don’t care if it’s marked as a men’s or women’s fragrance. I know what I like and that’s what I wear! Great video! ❤
Now I have some more to check out. There are 2 here that I like a lot. Bvlgari (au thé blanc) - A Hotel I use to sty at in Los Angeles got this as soap and in the shower. I loved it so much so I had to buy 2 bottles as soon as I got home. It’s 6 years ago now and each time I wear it, it takes me back to that hotel and vacation. Then I found Eau d'Hadrien in Paris. I love it. That one take me back to Paris each time I wear it. Someone told me that the Bvlgari might be discontinued soon ? I really dont Hope so.

I have the 4711 tissue wipes and I love having the option of a scent in a package wipe to refresh myself without spraying a mist! I would like to find other fragrance brands that have wipes! I also have the L'Occitane Verveine hand cream and love it. I like the bright lemon smell. It is energetic. I need to get the spray!
Loved CK One. It was the first fragrance I ever bought myself when it first released and I wore the crap out of it. I still have a bit of my 2nd bottle (1996) left. I cherish it because the newer Coty versions are horribly watered down and perform terribly. I really want to try that L'occitane Verveine and the Byredo Bal D'afrique, just haven't gotten around to them yet. Thanks for the list, Sebastian!
Love Mugler Cologne, and it´s one of my most worn fragrances. I've also gifted it. Among recent discontinuations, Mugler Cologne is the one I resent the most.
Absolutely brilliant list, reads off all my favourites, one I would mention as I think personally it could go both ways is Halfeti, to me penhaligons fragrances are quite middle of the road.
Agua de Colonia Sanborn's: comes I. Several offerings. Can be found in some U.S. large drugstore chains but mostly in Mexico :) I also enjoy Byredo Blanche, just to name a couple. Saved the video for future purchases!!! Truly enjoyed the historic Fragrant journey 🎉

I find BVLGARI Homme very unisex, haven’t tried the other two that you mentioned. I’m not really into unisex fragrances, I believe all fragrances are unisex. Love many from the list. Thank you Sebastian!!!
Serge Lutens has so many great unisex fragrances. Ambre Sultan may be my favorite amber of all time. Though I just got a bottle of Lalique’s Oriental Zinc and that is absolutely delicious too.
Funny enough, this "novice" has your first two in the list, the 4711 and the Eau de Campagne! Got 4711 recently, two bottles: one for me, one for an 18-year-old nephew just starting to like this stuff ("Penguin" smells fantastic on him). 4711 is fun--yes, very light, a minimum commitment for the day, no need to worry what anybody's going to think of it (😏) as no one is likely to notice. But it's a refreshing splash, a pick-me-up bit of citrus, and a pleasant, slightly bitter skin scent after a a half-hour or less. The Eau de Campagne (I just have "travel spray" sign) is amazing. Pleasing in a Grey Flannel kind of way, and I do love Grey Flannel.

How would you compare Torino21 to you or someone like you? I love torino21 and was about to buy that, but now you have me thinking about you or someone like you!
I would say they are similar in similar. YOSLY is dry mint and T21 is more syrupy fresh mint. Even though they might sound similar, they smell different to me but I enjoy both.

And unfortunately, I feel like that profile leans more for females. So, if I can get away with wearing something that’s targeted for both genders. I wouldn’t be too shy to respond when asked what I’m wearing, when I decide to wear a super feminine fragrance. Though anyone should wear what they want! :)
Emirates in their Business Class amenity kits had everything based around Au The Vert. I miss that - so much class. Now its based around the Aqva line...
1. CK One: Nice classic. 2. Incence Avignon: I dont like the Intense Aldehydic incense. smells like a clea ing solution. 3. Musc Ravageur 4. Dior Bois D'Argent: I have and would recommend Balade Sauvage. It's like a hybrid of Bal d'Afrique and Fico di Amalfi. 5. Tobacco Vanille: I have a bottle. Yep very sweet. I love the dried fruit note. 6. Virgin Island Water: I have this. Nice but not my favorite. Sneaky longevity. 7. Bal d'Afrique: Very nice, soft scent. Unisex but does lean a bit fem.
Another 13 last over 12hrs on me it’s get to a point where I’ll change my shirt & won’t spray it on for another week or so. I got a 1.7oz in 2021 which is still over 90% full 😅
I have By The Fireplace and my wife and daughter absolutely love it, but neither believes it's something they would wear and would be surprised if a woman wore it.

I would have to disagree on 4711 being the original EdC. From what I read, Farina 1709 was the original EdC and maybe it's me, but I find the smell for Farina is more intriguing. 😅
I'm Christian Orthodox so I should like Zagorsk but to me Zagorsk smells like a carpenters shop next to a church so my fave is still Avignon cause it really reminds me of my church but out of the collection the Jaisalmar is my fave currently because of the incense and spices.

I think the reason kit #5 didn’t sell as much is because the 3rd fragrance that you described didn’t sound very appealing. You described it as tea notes and something else that I forgot, but it didn’t sound interesting at all. Therefore, nobody wanted to pay for 3 fragrances when we’re only going to like 2 of them. That is the reason that I didn’t buy kit #5 and I think it was the reason for others as well. Just so you know.

Oh for sure. Just keep in mind the 4711 is uber light. Not intense at all. But still smells great! :)

I actually prefer the vert bvlgari fragrance. It works well with my skin chemistry. The Blanc leans a little masculine to me. I own the Bleu one too.

Please define what is meant by "aromatics". Seems to be an all encompassing term for herbs, leaves, spices, and resins.
Aromatics = herbs. Lavender, Sage, Basil, Mint and so on! :)

The Noir, Wulong Cha and Gris Charnel are all tea scents tha are popular so..
