Every time i see a 2nd gen ZX-10R in green, i think "I should have bought that instead of my R1" I know they are not considered the best 1000 from those years, but it looks gorgeous.
Love this, watched it lots of times, own a zx10r myself, bought it 2 years ago, nice one 17miles, white, white wheels, if it had have green or red, wouldn't have been interested in it, didn't go into the shop that day to buy a bike, with in for a chat, with my motor bike dealer, went home thought about over night, and rung up the next day got it for £6000, it has £1000 of extras on it, fell in love with it as soon as I seen it, had to put myself in debt to get it, £1000 on my credit card, my dealer only takes cash, had a fazer loved it but a bit too heavy for me, dropped it twice, and could only get my toes on the ground, and nearly dropped it trying to get it up on to the kerb, I think my zx10r is the best, I think it's the lightest, of them and goes as quick as the rest, only been on it twice in 2 years, but I still love it and wouldn't let it go, also have a car, and a bus pass, so the bike sits there, and not used in the winter at all, never thought I would own such a lovely and powerful bike, but I have it now, my be my last bike, may have to get a smaller one, when I get a bit older, but that was well put together and I love watching it over and over.
After Riding Endless 1000cc bikes riding friends gen 1s and 3/4s I still always have a love for the gen2, being 6'3 the extra size and width made it feel dreamy to ride for me. mid range was superb which on the road is where you use the bike the most. I loved the looks with stubby cans on, an all time favourite of mine
Excellent video 👌🏻💯 I've been riding my Gen3 since '08 ... still keeps me excited after all these years 😈 People somehow forget what Power to Weight ratio is about , thanks for adding that into your video 👌🏻
Owned a gen 2 and I've ridden gens 1 and 3 as well.. All were a blast on the track... But I thought gen2 had the best look, although it was a bit heavier. The latest model has really grown on me and if I have a good run at the casino next month I'll be picking one up
Generation 4 would be the one for me, if I had to pick one, in overall looks and performance, even tho generation 2 looks really good as well. Thnks for the video. Cheers!!!❤👍👍
3rd gen is by far the best looking. In terms of performance, from gen3 all the way to current gen, they have the same bore and stroke, meaning, with the right modifications, they are all in the same ballpark of power.
To be honest, in 2005, I hesitated between r1 05 and the beast Ninja 1000cc from 05. As a 22 years old, I chose the R1 since the Ninja was for experienced rider. Now I am going to start with Ninja but I don’t like all the electronics and all the heavyweight coming with it. More power yes but more weight too. I don’t like this type of evolution. I learned how to drive without abs and any other help. Bikes were half the price back then and now it became tools that even brand new beginner can ride. Good for them but I am sorry the pleasure is not the same.
I don't think young men with little experience (not saying you) should be allow to buy a zx10r it's a monster and really wants to go all you have to do is turn the throlle a little, and as you know it will do 100 miles an hour in first gear, yes it a lovelly bike, but they probeley couldn't get insurance any way and if they did it will cost a fortune, who can afford that, but it is a bike that will try to kill you, and I would really hate for that to happen to any young man , but like anything work your way up to a big bike, I love my bike, and it even scares me, and I've been riding bikes for 50 years.
@@Machado.299 thats dry weight for the gen 1 on the video, not as good power to weight as the newer models if you compare wet weight as lacks horsepower
i pretty much like them all except the latest and ironically the only one I had which was an 06. The 08-10 is a really cool look but like the 12-19 also
I used to have a gen 2 zx01r (loved it for that time) sold it and now I own a gen 3 zx10r and I just bought a gen 4 as well, love them both. I plan to track one and street ride the other. These are the marketing departments figures anyway, the "dry weight" numbers the manufactures give are all meaningless bullshit. No one rides there bike with no fluids (oil, coolant, fork oil, battery fluid) even then stick a rider on and all their power to weight goes out the window.
Gen 4 2014 has the best front end. Doesn't look like a box (gen 7) but also doesn't have dinky lights like a 1998 honda. Also that unforgettable rpm dash that will stand out forever.
