    Dude, the EV mode sounds like airplane

    Testing in Australia has same result. Well done Mitsu! I am glad they used their own system and not Nissan e-Power. 7sec 0-100km/h is impressive for heavy Hybrid family SUV.

      it's decently quick at legal speeds, but still underperforming considering it has 130hp ICE and 250hp electric.
      rav4 prime is the benchmark PHEV SUV has similar displacement 2.5 Atkinson engine but 180hp, 230hp electric motors, and combined 300hp
      but it has eCVT to make sure engine always at best rpm for efficiency/performance depending on throttle
      5.5s to 60mph 14s to 100mph
      . I think the problem with the outlander r
      phev is working as pure series hybrid until 158kmh !!! the engine is only charging the battery not adding power. the electric motors start losing power from 90km/h at 120km/h it's only giving slightly over 50% (~130hp) so very slow from 120 to 160.
      I guess the ICE gearing is only for efficient highway cruising like a 6th gear overdrive where the engine has little torque but can work at higher load. it only reaches decent rpm at 160kph/100mph so it's actually twice as slow as a RAV4 prime to 100mph (28s vs 14s) and 0-180km/h (41s vs 18s)
      I'm pretty sure it's perfectly OK to drive between 0-60 and feels a bit sluggish above 60-70

      @@geemy9675Uhm the Outlander PHEV's hybrid system doesn't add additional power and torque from the gasoline engine. The total 248HP and 332lb-ft is only from the e-motors 114HP and 188lb-ft from the front and 134 and 144lb-ft from the rear, the gasoline engine has 134HP and 144lb-ft of torque. The PHEV System on the Outlander only uses the gasoline engine as a generator, that's the reason why it's considered as one of the smoothest, consistent and the most polished PHEV System available is because it doesn't lose HP even when the battery is low, the engine can drive the front wheels via a GKN Multi Mode E-Transmission not a CVT at cruising speeds above 70KPH or around 40+MPH. For an SUV that only has 248HP and 332lb-ft and weighs 4700lbs or 2 tons in KG, it's really really impressive that it can accelerate to 60MPH in just 6.4 seconds, it's quicker than some sports cars, it's the second quickest car in it's class, even quicker than the Hyundai and Kia PHEV even though they have more power and this Outlander absolutely crushes the competition off-road, this is the only one in it's class that can scare the Subaru Wilderness Vehicles!

    Why is there a red "Power" only activated at 1:24 and is 42% quickerb(6.70s) from 60-120 than without (9.56s)

    0-100 is almost the same as Toyota Venza, but 0-180 is slower than Venza twice - why? Because Outlander accelerates only with motors until 160, or is the pedal not pushed fully?

    Hey friend, how is that: 2019 outlander Phev is weaker than this, but that one makes 0-180 approxm. twice faster? Looks like something is wrong here.

    • @PRL1290
      @PRL1290 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2022 has more powerful motors front and back as well as a larger battery.

      @cooking_secrets ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PRL1290 I know, but this guy has a video where the 2023 Phev outlander 0-180 is slower than this. I think that test is wrong

    • @geemy9675
      @geemy9675 ปีที่แล้ว

      -first the 0-180 is made worse because it's not in power mode. the power mode is 3s quicker just between 60 and 120 so 0-180 the difference is probably much bigger ?
      -second what number are you talking about when you say twice faster? there is no way 2019 outlander phev does 0-180 in 20s...that's almost as quick as the 300hp Rav prime which is best in class in performance. 5.8s to 60 and eCVT that keeps the engine at peak power
      or are you saying that 2019 is twice slower 82s ? sounds just as crazy

      @@geemy9675 just find and watch 2019 Outlander phev 0-180. As this video 2019 faster than 2023, but have to be in reverse. I watch many hybrids 0-180. The acceleration in this video very weird even not close to other vehicles

      @adslf874yti3q7u4hf83 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no gearbox in this car, so once each individual engine (the two electric engines and the ICE) is at its maximum output that's it. There's no further gears to go to. And lets be honest 180km/hr is more than enough for a boxy tall heavy SUV.

      @@cooking_secrets lets be honest nobody's gonna get to that speeds in this kind of car. whats important is being able to cruise 80-90mph comfortably and efficently, and decent acceleration

    • @cooking_secrets
      @cooking_secrets ปีที่แล้ว

      @@geemy9675 I mean if the accelaration to that speed is slow (I think something wrong in this video) it means this car also slow in low speed acceleratons, which very important in some situations.

    Take into account that thos speedometers are NOT accurate. 100km/h is more like 92 km/h in reality....Therefore, it's more like 8.5 seconds for a 0-100.

      I own a 2023 Outlander SEL in the United States and it is the first car I have owned that actually drives faster than the speedometer. When the speedo says 60 MPH it is going 62 MPH. Verified with my iPhone and Android GPS based apps. I'll break out my Dragy GPS device and check with that as well. I only drive it in Power or ECO mode with 1 pedal driving.
