  • See what happens when the Outlander PHEV S-AWC goes through this roller and slip test, you won't believe how it got better than the previous gen!
    AWD S-AWC roller and slip test note:
    That AWD system is called Super All-Wheel Control! The Outlander did way better than it's the previous generation! But, if you check carefully, you can't see those modes don't change much on a roller test. We tested all modes on all roller configurations but cut the one that showed little to no difference. Whatever mode you choose, the results will be the same except for MUD where you have more momentum. Fun fact, we got stuck in the 3-wheel slip test, but as you can see, leave it in normal with TCS ON and press and release the accelerator pedal multiple times, and it will get unstuck. This vehicle was equipped with winter tires. Turning off TCS will send the tires into smoke and won't get you anywhere. ** Wind noise warning
    Check out our roller and slip test featuring the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV! The PHEV model adds an all-new version of Mitsubishi Motors' plug-in hybrid electric drivetrain, boasting more power and torque, a greater all-electric range, and the latest and most sophisticated version of Mitsubishi's confidence-inspiring Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system.
    Using real-time data from sensors, Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) integrates all the information and sends instructions to each wheel all the time.
    Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) lets you choose from multiple drive modes, so you can feel confident in any situation, but it does not change much in the diagonal AWD test or Roller and slip test!

      @@theyungharrison my car uses the power from outlet when it is still charging. I have noticed it on the energy flow.
      Every day I plug it in in the evening and it gets fully charged around mid night. And mornings I have a preconditioning scheduled . When that happens I suspect the car is taking power from the battery not from the grid. What I understood from Mitsubishi's launch video is that when you plug in the car on a level 2 charger and above and do preconditioning it will take power from grid to keep the car's battery full.

      It looks front axle barely has a capability to escape with one wheel, because front axle could be driven by e-motor combined with engine, and the brake system has a lot capacity, on the other hand the rear axle has only e-motor and tiny brakes so it could't send enough power to the one wheel.

    • @rapide12345
      @rapide12345 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-oe7pr5ww2mThe traction control system cuts power and torque way too much that's why it struggled with the rear wheel slip test, I've noticed that behavior in almost all AWD Mitsubishi's, the front axle seems to have a better traction control, it cuts slightly then brakes the wheels then transferred the power and torque to the right wheels while the rear right is shaking but not enough torque is applied, a software update would fix it but overall still a very good system still one of the best in class also they need to fix the roll back.

      @@ejohnson3131yep, the Outlander's S-AWC System is AWD all the time, but it's actually rear wheel drive biased, 85KW of power in the front and 100KW of power in the rear, maybe that's the reason why it oversteered.
