Man mine shooting sub sonic at 100 yards was hitting super high, the whitetail 245 hit perfect at 100 less then an inch group, but for some reason all three of the sub sonic were way high. I cant make sense of that

So…… i appreciate the fact that you took the time to put this up. I must say that i was a bit confused as to why you would be surprised at the lower point of impact on a subsonic round. Of course it will hit substantially lower. Velocity has no effect on the acceleration rate of gravity. 32.2 fps squared. The projectile will continue to increase its downward travel (drop) exponentially. The longer the round is in the air, the lower the poi. The slower the velocity, the longer it’s in the air before it reaches poi. Couple of options….. dope the scope or BDC scope. Either way….. subsonic ammo has value under certain conditions.
That was my first time shooting subs and I have no experience with it and I figured it out about the poi was gonna be low but I plan on getting a can later to try the subs again

Thanks for the realistic video. I often see (on TH-cam) people popping out a first box of factory ammo with a new gun and shooting 0.25 to 0.5 MOA groups. I instantly know most of those are staged. It takes incredible luck, matching different factory ammo up to the rifle after multiple tests, or reloading to do that.

Nah bruh you can shoot perfect groups first time with any ammo it ain't gonna hit where your aiming but it'll group where it impacts then you adjust the scope to the impact point after you test if the ammo is accurate or not
I don’t why you’re groups are so large (I would suspect shooter error ) I have the exact same rifle , and have fired the exact same factory loads , and I can cover my 100 yard groups with a 50 cent piece from any ammo I send through the rifle . Watching your video , you’re not focused … I see your eyes moving around, you’re looking at the camera on your bench , you’re wincing , closing your eyes when the cartridge detonates , the rifle is jumping back and dam giving you a little scope bite , and I don’t know why ? It has a muzzle break on it , and barely kicks as much as a 20 gauge shotgun shooting bird shot . Get your breathing rhythm steady , snug that buttstock up into your shoulder , and keep your eyes open and follow through with the shot even after the the rifle discharges , stay focused on your target 🎯 👀 I can assure you that that rifle will print quarter sized groups at 100 yards with any given factory ammunition if you just implement the basic shooting fundamentals.

@@tx512outdoors ruger american 450bushmaster i had a whiskey3 scope on it the recoil on these can be brutal on scopes i had an issue with my barrel i was shooting a 300 grain winchester through it and lost the last 8inches of barrel
@@steveburlingame1935 holy cow that is crazy man never heard of a 450 blowing the barrel , but hope you where not injured, I have a vortex 3-9x50 straight wall cartridge scope on mine, it’s meant to handle the 45/70,350 legend and the 450BM, I run vortex on all my rifles just because of the warranty and they quality of the glass is amazing

The subsonic will shoot way lower because they are subsonic but if you are shooting them with a suppressor and dial them in they are worth it in my opinion but in eastern Ohio i probably wont soot more than 100 yds anyway
The factory loaded Sub-X rounds will drop apx 16.6 inches over 100 yards from a barrel parallel to the earth and the 'Time of Flight' over 100 yards is nearly .30 seconds at a muzzle velocity of 1050FPS.
@@tx512outdoors These are things one learns over a lifetime of shooting. All bullets are susceptible to gravity’s pull, slower cartridges seem to fall more but that’s simply due to their velocity…. Gravity’s pull is relatively consistent so that bullet will drop 16.6” over .3 seconds regardless of its S.O.G. (speed over ground).

Try the Barnes tipped tsx 250 grain projectileh(if you hand load). They’re near same hole accurate! Or try the Barnes TSX 250 hollow point ammo. Extremely accurate as well, but expensive. $50 for 20. Bullet part # is 30996 Ammo part # 32085

Not sure about that. . Ruger's rarly shoot great, they are cheap rifles. My Savage grouped great from the first time I shot it.

You have to sight in for subs. I shoot the Hornady Sub x in 300 Blackout 350 Legend and 450 Bushmaster suppressed and they all group really well.
Once I get my can I’ll sight it in with the subs

My ruger 450 liked the remington accu tips best and the winchester was a close 2nd place
