Looking for a new SUV preferably hybrid as I have been driving 2 lackluster Prius's for 15 years. Your videos are so educational and helpful. Thank YOU❣
I really like the Passport. It’s not too small and not too big plus it’s a V6 which is great also. Lots of cool features and cargo room. Cooled seats ought to be standard on the Elite trim. Nice review! 👍👍
Perfect size SUV for family of 3+dog going to the cottage on weekends. Also, when I see that trunk open all I think is golf bags fitting sideways perfectly.
Glad I am not the only one that wishes this had a solid armrest. I also wish the interior was truly designed for those that would actually use it that way; such as, a rubberized flooring (like the old Element).
I think this will be a better buy than the Chevy Blazer because of the Honda reliability and standard suite of safety equipment and the V6 across all trims. As for comparison with the new 2020 Subaru Outback, I suspect the Subaru (with standard AWD) will be priced lower than this Honda, but we will have to wait until it is released to do a comparison.
For those who talk about the arm rest, you guys need to think about us short people. For me a car without the individual captain arm rest like shown here is near impossible to drive. In fact, they removed this feature from CRV’s so when it was time to return my lease I decided to purchase a CRV just to return to the dealer the next day and return the new car to purchase my old leased car due to how uncomfortable it was for me to drive as my elbow could not not reach the center console while I was driving. Therefore, to me this is HUGE plus and I only hope they put this back into a CRV as I have been waiting for them to bring this feature cal to purchase a new one. I would buy this one if the pilot in a heart beat but si can’t really afford to pay more than what a CRV cost. I have read lots of reviews online with the same complain because not everyone out there is tall and mostly women appreciate the individual arm rests as well as the great space in between the seats to put our purse and other things without anyone knowing it’s there.

The Passport is nice, and has a higher output non turbo V6 engine and real transmission, not a CVT. The engine with the 100 extra horsepower over the Forester and others Trumps anything in it's class. The Elite is really well equipped and appointed, but expensive. The Sport is more affordable, but the one Black I saw today was just over $36K before the $3K dealership scalping. You would think for about $1500 over the Civic Sport, it could have had the upgraded radio, instead of the basic one, but I heard even the Sport has a subwoofer near the temporary spare tire. They have aftermarket radios with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a CD player, but I don't know how all the vehicles features integrated into the radio, including the backup camera monitor would be retained, as I don't think those aftermarket decks accommodate those features. Honda should make it easy to get the upgraded radio and easily swap it with the base radio in their vehicles. Other than the usual trim and equipment differences, and zonks, it's basically one of the best mid sized SUVs now. The Sport wheels are nice for the entry level, especially more on the street, yet still moderately off road capable here to go off the pavement with our beaches and other unpaved areas...
Is this a more choppier ride then the pilot? Any feedback from anyone appreciated. Not sure what hondas goal was with this i wont be doing any offroading just need a smooth ride.
Why do people call it a midsize or a compact??? I sat in it the other day and it’s pretty huge. The gas mileage kinda makes you think real hard, instead Honda should have dropped some hp.
A great replacement for Subaru Forester as they screwed it completely with CVT and lackluster 2.5 liter, not making it available with a 6 cylinder. If this was rear wheel biased or all time AWD, it would the ultimate SUV. The CX5 has the tiniest seats I’ve ever seen, they are horrible to sit in and the RAV4 seems like it got good competition. Not really sure who else it competes with where reliability is not an issue
If I'm not mistaken, the pilot and ridgeline are all time all wheel drive. They're the same with Acura sh AWD except for the electronics/programming. I believe the passport is as well. They have thrust vectoring which it can send 70% of engine power to the rear wheels and all that to EACH of the rear wheel, left or right depending on turn.
Just a quick comment for now on my we work break. The Elite would be my choice for an SUV this size. The Forester Sport next. The Ford Edge ST if I had the extra #, and the 2020 Toyota Rav4 TRD if they would put Androud Auto in it, or if done aftermarket add on is available.

What, no VTM-4 lock, how do you keep in it locked into lower gears, ie 1st and 2nd gear?. And Honda, go back to the "Lane Watch" camera's, much better than the orange lights.

@@nizapad6970 I was disappointed by their new Forester which I was waiting for, so I won't bet too much on their Outback. However, their new Legacy sure is a nice surprise.
I took a hard look at it at a dealer a couple of weeks back and decided against it. IMHO, Honda is looking to rip people off with this thing. With every other Honda, the Sport models comes with Apple Carplay, but for the Passport, you have to go up to the EX for that. For some offroad, you'd likely want AWD. Having to get the EX for Carplay and AWD makes the vehicle overpriced compared to options from Toyota. I decided the new Rav4 would meet my needs, be a good bit cheaper AND get much better MPG.
I think the RAV4 is a lot smaller than this. This looks to be a lot more comfortable and definitely a lot better-looking. That is I think this is more of a midsize suv whereas the rav 4 is definitely a compact SUV so it's kind of not even in the same class.
The RDX is getting very bad owner reviews though. Lots of turn-ins with less than 12k miles. Infotainment and transmission issues. Shame. It IS a beauty, just seems they should have done more quality control.

Get a clue, not everyone lives in a swamp. I've had 2 Pilots and now a Passport. They are great driving, well engineered, dependable vehicles. When it comes time to trade them in, the resale value destroys any comparable Nissan, Ford, Chevy, Hyundai, or Kia. Buzzy engine? 🙄 That engine will smoothly crank out 150k-200k miles with minimal service needs. #FloridaClueless...
"Do some research?" Uncalled for reply. A cubby is a cubby. Literally. If there is not a CD player, then there is a Cubby. The Honda engineers should have taken into consideration what would be in the vehicle without a CD. the engineers apparently did not take that into consideration... Or perhaps they did. But we see the results of that decision.

you giving too much credit on subaru outback, its coming from 18 subaru outback 3.6R
@@nizapad6970 I was disappointed by their new Forester which I was waiting for, so I won't bet too much on their Outback. However, their new Legacy sure is a nice surprise.
@@nizapad6970did you not properly read my comment? 2020 Outback will most likely have 2.4L turbo just like 2020 legacy,
I took a hard look at it at a dealer a couple of weeks back and decided against it.
Those are some very good points and I can totally understand where you are coming from!
I think the RAV4 is a lot smaller than this. This looks to be a lot more comfortable and definitely a lot better-looking. That is I think this is more of a midsize suv whereas the rav 4 is definitely a compact SUV so it's kind of not even in the same class.
Why Honda never have 360 camera on its.All SUV has that option.Why????????????????/
That is a very good question!
Audio????
Sorry Tom there was some kind of interference going on!
Price tag is really high compare to the interior quality Subaru offers
Thanks you for sharing that input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
😂😂😂😂
I smiled!
19" wheels? I thought all trims get 20s
You are right Ken! I tripped over my thoughts! Thanks for watching!
I'm ZONK that it doesn't come with HUD, AC SEAT
Gotta give it a ZONK. The cargo area is still too small for my wife!
What is she driving now?
@@RaitisRides She's too big to ride in Cargo. I need a flat bed! LOL
Interesting setup.
I’m sure you need a better microphone.
Tere was some interference going on. It is all sorted out!
Looks like a Pilot and Ridgeline
I think that was their goal! lol
Bad info. The pilot has the same engine and transmission.
Thanks for your input and watching!
Not buying those low profile tires
I can totally understand where you are coming from!
Accord is good enough. Thanks
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch!
RDX blows it away..although at a higher cost
That is a very good point!
The RDX is getting very bad owner reviews though. Lots of turn-ins with less than 12k miles. Infotainment and transmission issues. Shame. It IS a beauty, just seems they should have done more quality control.
Ron Faldik
And requires premium fuel for that turbo.I’d stick with the Passport or a Highlander.

Merlin "Well Sire if I told you I'd have to kill you !"

Merlin ".......byee !" (puff of smoke !)
Yay! I miss these old tales of yours!
Audio quality of this video is terrible and choppy
It is just a tad, I'm sorry abut that. There was some kind of frequency interference!
2019 Passport, not 2020
Yes I don't know where that came from!
They are asking too much for this truck. Suv pricing is way too high.
It's getting worse everyday!
Dislike:
MSRP , screen infotainment with the A/C vents, lame front face. The interior looks like is for old people.
Likes:
Ground clearance, V6 Enginee, interior space
I won’t pay more then $30 thousand dollars. I’ll stick around with 2019 forester with lots of features under $30 thousand dollars.
Thanks for sharing your well thought out input!
Rear end resembles Ford Interceptor. 🤔
I think you may be on to something!
Not impressed at all. I think this SUV needs a whole new makeover. Looks like it's a decade old.
It may be a few years before that happens! ;-)
That engine will smoothly crank out 150k-200k miles with minimal service needs.
#FloridaClueless...
The arm rests are excellent for long drives (dude quit your whining)
The only thing that scares me with Honda is their weak transmissions!!!
So Honda hav weak transmissions huh 🤔💭 huh tell me about this I was 💭 about test driving this new one
@@ENEN54 Just be careful
Thanks for the heads up, Scotty.....
The ZF 9-speed is a pretty good gearbox.
@@ENEN54 I haven't heard about any issues with the 9-speed.
Great view
Thank you so much for watching!
The answer for your comment: "Weird Cubby". Do some research. THis is where HOnda will put a CD player if ordered as an Honda accessory.
That should be standard! I am not a sales person and do not recite brochures. Thanks for watching!
Hmmm it's a bit small
Big D and chopper what’s amazing though is the It has more interior room then the bigger Pilot!
