      The thing you gotta understand is that unlike all of the other products at Superbooth, the TE products are niche which means they need to have an automatic £1000 tacked on.

    • @HiLoMusic
      @HiLoMusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@illustriouschin Are you being serious right now? SOMA is niche, far more than TE, the entire synth market is niche, it doesn't justify a $1000 tax

    Vlad is a genius and a visionary. I spended almost 4 years just into machines and synths (although I've been using synths , sequencers, ect, since a long time) and as I play many instruments I was always missing the real expressivity of "real instruments" and Vlad really opened the door for machines to be real instruments. I have a Lyra8, a Dvina... really love his work and philosophy.... definately getting a Terra... Thanks Vlad for your work!

    This has to be the most fascinating instrument I’ve seen in a long while that I’m seriously interested in playing. In this day and age we should be looking into how to be more expressive with synthesisers instead of coming up with another analogue subtractive-based monosynth. Synthesis as we know for many decades is not going to change drastically anymore in the basics. The way how we use it and interact with it definitely will, which is how we’re going to be more creative with it.

      Hear hear ! Ill second that ! I can attest to that - for the first time in 25 years (since i , as a bassplayer got a Chapman Stick) i felt exactly that , when i bought my Seaboard Rise 61 - a new perspective on the whole playing part of being a musician,-

    • @normdurkin6425
      @normdurkin6425 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ..yeah those digital presents that you can not save and everyone will be playing the same ones are the most avant-garde thing I have seen in 25 years.. lol.. I would much rather not be able to create my own patches and save them.. why do that when we all can play the same digital presents on a slab of wood with cracks for under $1k..?

    • @noiseg33k
      @noiseg33k 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@noiseg33k ..that cool most string pluckers would get confused by more than one present.. the way to get the best deal on used equipment is to buy your keyboards/synthesizers from guitarist and your guitars from keyboardist.. 👊👍😁

  • @anthonyniedzwiecki33

    This is fantastic! I love the concept and sound; so much control at your fingertips.
    For the final handmade design I would love to see some more thoughtful knobs, maybe wooden ones like the early Bastl modules or something of the same material as the sensors so the chunky black knobs don't look so out of place. That's the only thing that doesn't utterly captivate me about Terra; other than that, WOW!
    SOMA might be making some of the only electronic instruments that could bring the same intuition and satisfaction as playing acoustic instruments. Two way switches (piano keys) and knobs that you find on most all traditional synths don't allow for much "play" to be had; I really love to see SOMA innovating on this front.
