Understand this is not all your fault. You have an enemy that wants to kill steal and destroy you. You have a world that has a “you make your own life” mindset. God said he is sovereign. Christ said loose your life for him. That means your not the only one “doing everything”. your saved by grace through faith a gift not something you did not works. I’m working on this too it’s called an orphan spirit. God the father wants to show you his love and the way he wants you to go. But we’re not letting him cause of self condemnation. Repent for that repent for doing things your way and ask for gods way. Cast out that orphan spirit through prayer and fasting. God is faithful he will bring you wisdom and power ❤you/we got this.

QUESTION: I struggle with believing I am worthy of love and that I am even loved likely due to how I was not shown very much love by my father as a child as well as being bullied which lowered my self esteem and has caused me to feel insecure in myself. I want to know that I am loved by God and feel secure in his love but I sometimes doubt that he even loves me, why He would even love me, and really what His love for us really is. Can you help me to understand Christ's love for us?

Well I don't know if that helps but I'll tell it to you. My father was like you, he had a very harsh childhood (adopted, ealry death of his father, mother that didn't love him etc). At his death bed he finally realized that we (his 2 sons) were indeed loving him and after a lifetime away from God he was speared and felt our Lord Christ in him. He was able to confess to a Priest and take Holy Communion at his last days in bed. I relay believe that he was speared at the last moment.
For you I prey my brother and I hope that you will find Christ earlier in your life.

I'm right there with ya brother, but this is how i look at it: I know that I deserve to go to hell, nothing can change that. But I want to spend the little time that I have left before hand, to love and know and get closer to Christ. That's really all I can do. Also, go to church and do all the things. I learned that if you don't have the praxis, you cannot change your heart, no matter how much pain comes into your life if you're not actually doing Church things it will not soften you, it will just make you more evil. That's just my 2 cents brother, and I'm talking to myself more than I'm talking to you. Lol. God bless.

Do not try to rationalize the love of God based on your worthiness ... nothing is worthy than His image ... we have His love any tume, in any situation ... do not forget the prodigal son ... His father was waiting ... God is waiting to embrass you

Look up Fr. Hans Jacobse. He talks specifically about this a lot. He has a group called the St. Paisios brotherhood you can join as well.
St. John Chrysostom in one of his homilies instructs his flock to show brotherly love and affection to one another. Basically one way God's love is mediated to us is through brotherly love, and if you missed out on paternal affection you can heal that wound by giving and receiving fraternal affection. This can take the shape of working on projects together, deep conversation, exercising or playing sports together, giving hugs if you are comfortable etc.
Also pray for God to bring healing to you and He will deliver it. God bless you brothee

I have always said the miracles in the bible are allegorical and this doesn’t lessen the wonder of god but it improves everything! That Jesus at the wedding turned the common water, a symbol of life, into fine wine towards the end when nobody was expecting it, just says that Jesus entering your marriage will save you both just as the honey period starts to wain, you start to bicker and your eyes wander. Jesus is the finest water there is, he is fine wine

As a Godmother of 3, i see that a child's pure heart meets and feels Christ in Baptism and Holy Communion before he/she is ready to perceive the Gospels😊
Intellect isn't everything, human nature is much deeper than that.
One can understand and even accept the Gospels intellectually, but not be a Christian.
Your question seems to be related to Sola Scriptura, which I personally find illogical, because if one doesn't trust the Apostolic Church and its sacred teaching and legacy, there is no point in honouring the Gospels that was written by the same Church, not Christ Himself and long after His death.

Can you do a video on the proper way to parent children during church services? The parents who allow kids to have full blown play dates during church services is causing people to leave our church, including myself. As a newer convert, I cannot experience the fullness of the Liturgy, communion prayers and homily because of how loud the playing and talking is during church. The parents do absolutely nothing and the elders (boomers) are so afraid they’ll insult 3-6 year olds and drive them away from church that they encourage the playing and noise. These kids walk up to other children who are behaving on the other side of the church and yank on them while the parents do nothing. The elder women and mothers read books out loud to these kids and the kids demand attention, walking around and stopping their feet all around the church during the service. They are overindulged and entitled, their parents bring bags and bags of toys, food, and books to entertain these kids (what low expectations they have for their own children as other kids don’t need such entertainment and can remain quiet).
From what I’m told by the good parents, it’s difficult for them to explain to their kids (who behave) why they can’t play but other kids can during the service. The bad parents even ask their kids constantly, “Do you want a cookie, do you want to read, do you want some juice, do you want to light a candle, do you want to see the icon, do you want, do you want, do you want.” All during the service and on holidays and baptisms, this is going on.
These parents are also very arrogant and controlling toward other adults. They are snobby and rude. The fathers direct or sing in choir while they should be attending to their families or leaving immediately to teach their children who is boss. Why should the rest of us leave? I have left church twice as I couldn’t hear the communion prayers and didn’t feel prepared to take communion. I don’t feel like I am in God’s house. I feel I’m in their personal living room. It’s only two families which are ruining it for everyone.
I have spoken up and got dirty looks from the elder ladies who encourage it. These two families remind me of certain types of parents who I cannot mention here, but must be influenced by modern psychology, wink wink. At the least ,they are the worst kind of over educated, know it all millennials. They’ve been asked by some including clergy to stop and they don’t. They just don’t understand or are unable to look at themselves as the problem. One actually told me to have mercy! I guess no one else, including the good parents, good kids, converts who are overcoming major traumas, elderly who cannot hear the priest don’t deserve mercy but they do!
When I was growing up we weren’t even allowed to slouch during church let alone slap our siblings, toss books and toys on the floor, throw cups, laugh and talk out loud, and argue with our parents during liturgy. These people should not allow their children to sit together and should sit separately like individual families rather than like they are attending some kind of party each Sunday in church. Separation would be a start, the fathers should act like men, and then maybe parenting can take place.

    • @rachelarmstrong807
      @rachelarmstrong807 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I’m sorry for your situation. I would talk to the priest and the parents of the kids. No change will happen from everyone suffering in silence.
As a parent of three young children myself, it is definitely possible and important to teach children how to behave properly in church. There are books and blogs that offer suggestions, but basically have the children with the parents at all times, standing or sitting quietly as appropriate. My children do not bring toys or talk or play or eat during services. The may have one book at a time if they are toddlers, but I take it away if it becomes a distraction. If the child becomes a distraction by starting a tantrum or something I take them out of the service and bring them back in when we’re ready. It saddens me that people have left over the issue at your church; I hope the priest addresses it.

    • @Lauren.D.P

@@rachelarmstrong807 Thank you so much for confirming that little kids don’t need a ton of entertainment options and freedom to run around in order to be respectful in church. In fact, overindulging them seems to be the cause of the problem in my church. I did talk to my priest who I love so dearly but I don’t think he can see or hear what’s really going on from where he stands. Now that others have complained, I am hoping it changes. For the time being, I am seeking a new church to go to at least on Sundays. God bless you for responding and I hope anyone who is going through something similar (even parents) will get something out of it! My kids are grown and I struggled, but never in a million years would I have allowed them to disrupt a full church service. I am praying for them and for our church!

He did not say women earning money is problematic; he said men and women redefining the identity divinely assigned to them is problematic. Which is a triusm on the face of it. If God assigns an identity it is, by definition, correct. The only consistent counter-arguments are: 1) to deny the existence of God, or 2) to deny, from received divine sources, that God has assigned any particular role to men or to women, or 3) to affirm one’s own authority or some alternate authority.
