I've read that if you combined the old 1st and 2nd Editions of the base game, you could have 7-8 player games! Absolute madness. No special building phase here, everyone can just hold 13 cards without getting robbed.
A nice variation of the three player game is to use the 6 player expansion go for 20 victory points, each player gets two colors and gets to place 4 towns and roads to start. It is a longer but more faster paced game.
took the word out of my mouth. I have the Settlers and Seafarers extensions, but I had a feeling that the Cities and Knights extension wasn't worth it since if you happen to have 5 or 6 people, you can play Seafarers with all of it's different scenarios. Good job Vasel!
Could you do a review about Starfarers of Catan? I'm very curious about the theme ("Catan in space"), but I just don't understand why is its price so high...
When you stumble into some classic era youtube content, nostalgia incoming haha
Don’t know how long I spent looking for a video like this

Time for an updated video.

Too bad the basic expansion does not work with the earlier printings of the game (the ocean pieces are not interlocking in the earlier printings)

because the components are AWESOME. You get a physical plastic ship that you can snap cannons and engines onto. It's pretty rad.
I think they are called "5-6 Player EXTENSIONS" The expansions are the 3-4 Player Variants.
Nice man I'm getting the Red box and buying another color off eBay for 7 players! :D
great review!
Thank you!
So let me get this straight; The thing that the 5-6 player expansion does is it allows you to play with 5-6 players? What?! No way...... -.-
I see lost in the background 4 8 15 16 23 42 best show ever

For 2 players, the Catan Card game is quite fun. The Catan Dice Game, not so much.
@halinar1 the ocean pieces are better in the older version. it allows for more freedom in the construction of the game board
Do you need the regular Settlers of Catan 5-6 Players Expansion pack to play with the Seafarers of Catan 5-6 Expansion pack?
yes.
Do you have to throw everything? Geez. Nice review, just what I was looking for, but why be so disrespectful?
If you can't imagine why someone would buy all three then ... why did you? o.O
Why do you throw everything like waste?
hmm I don't agree, in my opinion 4 players is very difficult, not enough space and game becomes too long.
3 players is the ideal number IMO.
4 is the original number of player inteded for seafarers, just dont buy the expansion :)
ARGH!!!! BE CAREFUL MAN!!!
@dangeresque429 Review copies probably.
