The conjure skill is pretty good but what makes it less viable is that summoned minions are somehow unable to follow you into buildings forcing you to summon a new minion inside the building (that is if there is a skeletal body present)
U can use conjure while u have a sigil out for additional effects. Wind sigil u conjure lightning directly on the sigil and u don't have to be standing in it
Watch ESO 1 shot bow build and also Best Melee build, its incredibly OP. I can kill anything in the game without fear, even multiple bandits killed ith 1 sweep etc
Just a tip but the wind altars are all displayed on the map by the marker "Cabal of Wind Altar". You need to activate each regions altar to use wind magic there. The Enmerkar Forest altar is located inside Berg not to be confused with the temple.
Those circles of wind/fire etc spells are used with combination of spark spell. Then you cast like fireballs, lightnings etc... Depending on the circle that you stand in, when you cast the spark spell.
Love games wither either A. A TON of classes to choose from, or a so many different mix and match skills/attributes that i can make my own damn class. Necro is definitely what i want to do. Wish they had an option to play as an Elementalist/Mage with a elemental pet and some badass elemental spells/AoEs.

If you go straight to Berg in the forest then you can talk to the sage trainer get the four basic Sage spells runic magic makes everything easy cast Trap cast light cast lightning ball over and over again create your own sword buff yourself and then later on make that two handed sword heal yourself and it's pretty easy to make money with I run full sage and full necromancy and feel like the god they said I would never feel like
@@MrRedfiredemon4545 Not everyone has friends who have the game. I don't have anyone to play with, and I'm kind of afraid to, because apparently the second player can access your Stash. The last thing I need is someone griefing me in a game this hard. Plenty fun in single player, although I do agree with him: the overworld could be less empty. The dungeons are amazing, but outside of them you can sometimes go like 5 minutes without seeing anything.
@@Augoeides32 Well I disagree with you entirely, though I play Outward on Ps4. I play local co-op so there aren't any real issues, but if I played online I would simply find someone I can trust or work around any potential issues.
In coop monsters become really easy since your friend can bash them in the back when they are chasing you. In solo however I think it has more of a feel of being regular weak peasant trying to live to another day, which i think how they intended it. :D both are fun though.
You should come back to this game- it’s gotten 2 dlcs that each have a new full zone, new mechanics and skill trainers. The 1st adds a new faction, the Soroborean traders (and adds the ability to fast travel when encountering those traders in the world, the ones in towns just take you to the new zone) and the 2nd one acts as true endgame story content. The game has around 25-30 endgame bosses now, a ton of new equipment, and tons of possibilities for new builds
This build is just *NOT* worth it curently... it needs a serious buff (atleast making the 1 spirit minion follow you until it dies and be able to go with you everywhere) if not being able to summon a lot more "skeletons" and minions.... :/
Yeah I wanna know too, if it's just a few min, I will not go there.. but if it's 20min or more or even perm, I will go there now, as I have 1 point left to unlock full tree. Hope someone knows how long it stays. Thanks for the great video.
I was pretty disappointed, when they showed the spell on an old dev stream they said it lasted until death but it's like 290 seconds or so and since it's only usable on humans you can't even rely on it through most of the game. On top of that it doesn't seem to scale with the opponent you summon from so it mostly gets one shot from anything, even other humans past the Cheronese. EDIT: Just wanted to clarify that I was mostly expressing my personal disappointment in regards to what I believed the spell would be based on the past dev streams. I actually do still like the spell and it can definitely be useful. I just don't find it as useful as what I had hoped for it.

@@holymsophy Yea, with a support gem every hit they have a 10% chance on rare/bosses to summon one and 10% on every kill. They disappear but I just sit there. Right now I have 6 zombies, 6 phantasms, and a spell that summons an ARMY! 16 skeleton warriors, 3 skelton archers, 1 skeleton general. So 26+ minions at once. All the gems I got like 3 and 6 hours in.
@@holymsophy When I play again I will do another count, it shows how many are summoned but it mixes the number with the summoned zombies. So my number last night went from 5 (max zombies I had) to 11. And it really seems like the zombies summon them because I can stand still and the zombies attack on their own and then POP! specters appear from where the zombies are, it is more noticeable if they are on a different level like when you see land but you can't walk there but can summon a zombie from the corpse over there.
@@holymsophy Okay so I got my terms wrong, I am still very new to the game. "Summon Phantasm on Kill Support" The text in game says "When those skills or minions kill enemies, they will have a chance to summon" then blue text says 10% when hitting a rare+ to summon. So 7 Zombies, 6 Phantoms, 20 Skeleton Army in about 10 hours to hit level 23. It is still the undead summoning undead though.
The number one benefit of summoning a minion in any RPG is to use it as a distraction so enemies will focus on it instead of you. Having an OP minion would be bad for the game experience.
Beautiful game! Love the colors and art style. However I wish a minion could be summoned without having to kill a mob like most necromancer classes in other games.
i agree but they did add it to where you don't. randomly throughout the world you see lots and lots of corpses and even skeletal remains. those can be summoned as well.
What other games? I played Diablo 2 (I know 3 has it but did not play it) and now PoE (witch) and every time I summon someone I have to have a corpse. I like the Necromancer concept and wish more games had it.

@@NERDPotion I've comment on this game before but I truly like the realistic magic I am seeing. There are a few books, The name of the wind, Mistborn series, etc, that show the cost and learning that goes into developing magic and even its failures. I like reading a book where the main character blackouts from using to much power because they did not understand it takes a spark to light a match and not a fireball. I truly want to get this game (why I am watching more videos on it) but with there was a demo if my computer can smoothly run it or not.
Use Reveal Soul with Spark and you'll never have a Mana problem again. Combine that with Rune magic and you're set. No need for Mana or Healing pots. There's also a passive that regenerates 0.5 Mana/s iirc. I suppose you could add Conjure to that build and be a Necromancer/Wizard deciding whether you want that soul to regain mana or get that spectral fighting alongside you. Usually there's enough souls around.
The ghoul at the tombstone drops a guaranteed tsar stone, for the baddest looking armor in the game, he has a 7 day resplendent, I set a plant tent in the cave next to him and camped him, took 45 minutes to get all 11 stones for the armor
Tasty Penguin it’s an armor the blacksmith crafts, costs 1100 total from the blacksmith in levant, it just takes money and the tsar stones, it’s plate armor with fire resist and hot weather resist, but infinite durability
When you craft something you put your lantern and a thick oil you can get it from mobs, mine it from different veins or you can gather it in some places if you want to know where to get it just search up on internet
Also the wind alter is just on a hill to the left of the path, when leaving that building. It's in sight from the entrance, and it's got a marker on the map. You'll also want mana push, I believe it combines well with the wind sigil
the wind altar is right outside the hermits house on top of a hill, its a pillar with a bird statue, you have to find one in each zone to use the wind spells. i also know the enmerkar forest one is inside the berg city
The Hallowed Marsh one is straight along the main road to Monsoon. In through the Chersonese entrance and straight up the main road, in a little pool at a crossroads.
"Where a necromancer ttthhhrrrriivvveeesss lol. Sounded so creepy when you said that mate. Using mana isn't for me, I'm doing a two handed weapon play through. Those bandits go down in two swings. I spent one point in mana just to be able to do the fire and cold boon to assist with temperatures when travelling to different biomes. Anyway. Keep on creeping mate :)
haha same. but i also have a build for casting all spells without any mana and a Aloken build for 2 handed polearms that can kill light mender in seconds if done right :P all on the channel!
I tried out this skeleton summon in the desert area, he got insta gibbed by a couple beetles, he survived long enough to hit once doing about 1% of the beetles health in damage. This skill is trash and its baffling how its a top tier skill in the shaman tree.
@@NERDPotion no its not, its a top tier end game ability.. You have to use a breakthrough point and a ton of gold to get a boarderline useless ability.

@@Nimblenicky its more of a distraction, then burn the enemy down with lightning or fire magic. Anything to help you distract an enemy in this game is a MAJOR benefit, definitely a top tier spell.
Unfortunately the summon is extremely weak except for early game, which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't because you don't get that skill until mid/late game
Your flame thrower makes you stand still and channel. My dagger... one poke. Just one little poke. Then I laugh as the doomed man tries to get passed my block as he chokes on poison.
I've been waiting to see necromancy for this game. How long does the spectral summon last? Can you make a series till you get to max in necromancy class please? I subbed hoping for that. 🤞
Haha thanks for the sub! And the thing about classes and or skills in this game is, there are 8 trainers "skill trees" and u have enough skill points to max 3 of them. This tree is the only one i know of with necromancy type spells.
I have some axe called living wood axe or something but it does 12 etheral damage and it fucks all the ghosts up they didn’t stand a chance when you use the mist boon with that!
I could be wrong, but I think the wind tower is in Berg? I saw a tower that I used and it mentioned the wind any way. Hopefully by now you've found it.
Why is my map completely devoid of enemies to kill? It has been at least 30 to 40 in game days since I killed everything on my map and nothing has re-spawned yet...
@@NERDPotion Yes I have. I went to Burg to join the faction. Still no enemies upon returning. All corpses have been lying on the ground since their death. The only enemies that seem to respawn are the ones in dungeons, but even those take for ever.
@@BayouCityAstronomy you need to let pass 7 ingame days and then everything respawns, but during the 7 days you should not enter the map otherwise the "timer" resets and you need other 7 days. For dungeons you need 2-3 days and cites don't have a respawn from what I saw so far (respawn of object left on the ground and other stuff)
I wouldn't really call this a necromancer it's more of conjuring magic your using there souls to conjure a skeleton true necromancy would be bringing back there body to life not there soul
Outward is definitely a unique experience. Prepare to die and possible remake your character several times before starting out for real if you don't look at guides. It's really easy to end up naked on a mountain in the middle of winter with no backpack or weapons.
I agree. i cant count how many times i have died. but once i realized you just need to be patient and know when to attack, thats when it all works out.
Wait, you could get the reveal soul skill for free?! What guy did you have to talk to in the mountain? I just got my magic and went on the boat back to the surface.
well there are a few wind spells in that tower u can use in combo with the elemental circle altars to create many diff effects. for instance ice circle + Wind push = Ice bolt
I'm wondering: Have all the recipes in the game been found? Because I've been wonderingif you can craft padded armor but there's no recipes out there for them from what I can see.
So the build basically removes player combat from the game. Honestly, given how clunky and messy Outward's combat is, that may be worth remembering if I ever do a second play-through.
I have no idea, what the problem is people have with the combat. Sure if you are used to Assassins Creed's super easy mode where everythibg drops with 1-2 clicks... but seriously, if you put in some effort and practice it's one of the best combat system you get.
@@voldemortborbeli5839 What follows (which I warn you is really, really fucking long) is honest criticism, not vitriol. I am genuinely enjoying the game. tl;dr Its just clunky as fuck and comically imbalanced. Still a compelling game though. The animations are stilted and the characters skate around a lot. Too many animations are uninterruptible. Hit boxes are more than a touch wonky. The roll is garbage; no i-frames, barely longer than the radius of the explosive attacks that are the only things it is useful for dodging and way too long a windup. Add that to a prohibitive stamina cost and it just feels awful. Stamina is just a complete mess. You spend it far too quickly for how long it takes to regenerate; especially given that enemies have infinite stamina and frequently massive health pools. Posture (or whatever they're calling that) is reduced either far too quickly (infinite stun locking with heavy attacks) or way too slowly compared to how fast it regenerates (its basically not a mechanic if you're using a low impact weapon). Enemies are capable of perfectly dodging attacks that there is no chance they could possibly see. And doing it while focused on someone else. Enemy attacks have the wonkiest damage numbers compared to their timings. An attack with a massive, telegraphed wind-up (Tuanosaur Fireball) will tickle, but something with next to no wind-up (bandit mage ice blast thingy) will absolutely trash you. DoTs are comically powerful. To the point where they basically automate the combat. DoT an enemy up and then just kite them round till they fall over. Traps are beyond broken. Lay 5 or 6 down and casually obliterate most enemies. Slap a bleed/poison trap in there and its just comical. Basically it feels like going back and playing a reasonably okay action RPG from 10 years ago (in terms of combat). Its just clunky as fuck.
Torchlight31 Except in Dark Souls power is conveyed well visually through the enemies' attack animations (long wind ups, BIG damage). And Dark Souls has I-frames in its rolls. Dark Souls stamina recovers quickly enough. Dark Souls combat looks way snappier just by visual comparisons. To me, the combat in Outward reminds me of Lords of the Fallen (again, just going by visuals), or Dark Souls 2 (super floaty).
@@ggaccentc I already have one of the best weapons in the game (because traps allow you to cheese your way through anything with ease) and I've read all the trainer abilities. The combat gets easier, not better. None of it in anyway addresses or corrects my issues with the combat, which are all based on the poor execution of the fundamental mechanics.
This build would be the biggest waste of money early and new player would suffer a ton and if you get it later it will be pretty useless my buddy got those spells to and he is like weak as hell with rune magic this spirit/necro stuff and the normal spells my char on the other hand focused on assasin skills for stronger traps chakrams and element warriors can easy deal with all enemy and 1 hit bosses with the traps :/
well this is more of a RP aspect of the game. It was never intended for power. The game for me is for a fantasy have fun type of gameplay. Not worrying on what's best
Anybody know if there's a spell to let you see in the dark, I'm playing an assassin but it's hard to sneak up when enemies can see in the dark better than I can...
there are a total of 8 diff trainers for completely diff abilities. you have a max of 3 skill points and it takes 1 point to max a tree out. so u can make any combo of 3/8 trees.
Or even combine more stuff, without maxing it to the end - some basics can still be usefull (for example runemage light orb if u dont want to carry lanterns around)
@@NERDPotion I do... It doesn't happen most of the time since it's too *OP* and it gets patched out/nerfed as soon as someon "masters" it :/ And I don't think the "Necromancy" in this game will ever become good... but I hope so... :/
The map he shows is the first area only. all the other maps are around the same size differnt themes though like a forest, a desert, a swamp. Since all travel is done on foot it gets a bit tedious traveling from place to place.
Yeah its the same as casting any "boon" its just based on the area your in. Area with lots of fire? Fire boon which increases fire resistance. Pretty topical defensive skill honestly.
@@napalm777 i mean the Shamanic Resonance i think it adds a 10 or 50%? to boons i was thinking does it buffs focus (discipline) on the warrior monk. i think it adds 15% to physical damage. and the rage from wild hunter. i was thinking if discipline is a boon it should raise the damage to 20 or so.

Why don't you go into sleep deprivation? You get a huge Mana regeneration while at 50% or less sleep
The staff you get from the purple troglodyte in the first cave does ethereal damage and hurts the skeletons a little bit more than regular weapons

Also you can cast spark on the "Revealed Soul" to restore mana. I rarely need astral potions, just suck the souls out of my fallen enemies.

All these magic aspects I’ve yet to explore . Next play through I guess . I’m almost done with my current one using more of a tank build .

haha made me giggle. But yeah the minion has limits but there are specific places where it shines. and lots of places where it saved my life
I can now see why this has so many views. It looks like such a fun build, maybe I'll try it on my next character :)
The wind circle adds range to the wind push, and if you shoot a pistol while inside it it launches a lightning orb
Yup. Combine this with blood bullet and you can nearly "one shot" every creature in the game. It LITERALLY put a Wendigo to 20% hp...wild stuff

True! I mainly use this minion to make mobs focus on him while I give the big blows
If you use Spark on a blue soul orb thing it pops it, and you get mana for it.

Use Reveal Soul with Spark and you'll never have a Mana problem again. Combine that with Rune magic and you're set. No need for Mana or Healing pots. There's also a passive that regenerates 0.5 Mana/s iirc. I suppose you could add Conjure to that build and be a Necromancer/Wizard deciding whether you want that soul to regain mana or get that spectral fighting alongside you. Usually there's enough souls around.

The ghoul at the tombstone drops a guaranteed tsar stone, for the baddest looking armor in the game, he has a 7 day resplendent, I set a plant tent in the cave next to him and camped him, took 45 minutes to get all 11 stones for the armor

Tasty Penguin it’s an armor the blacksmith crafts, costs 1100 total from the blacksmith in levant, it just takes money and the tsar stones, it’s plate armor with fire resist and hot weather resist, but infinite durability
Tasty Penguin normally the tsar stones are hidden behind puzzles in end game dungeons, that ghost is the only reoccurring chance to get them as a drop
I see that your lantern is on you can turn your lantern off by clicking V so you dont have to recharge it so often

How do you recharge lanterns? Once mine is empty I can't put oil in it.
When you craft something you put your lantern and a thick oil you can get it from mobs, mine it from different veins or you can gather it in some places if you want to know where to get it just search up on internet

Also the wind alter is just on a hill to the left of the path, when leaving that building. It's in sight from the entrance, and it's got a marker on the map. You'll also want mana push, I believe it combines well with the wind sigil
Best for the wind sigil it are spark, fire/reload and conjure
the wind altar is right outside the hermits house on top of a hill, its a pillar with a bird statue, you have to find one in each zone to use the wind spells. i also know the enmerkar forest one is inside the berg city
The Hallowed Marsh one is straight along the main road to Monsoon. In through the Chersonese entrance and straight up the main road, in a little pool at a crossroads.

Using mana isn't for me, I'm doing a two handed weapon play through. Those bandits go down in two swings.
I spent one point in mana just to be able to do the fire and cold boon to assist with temperatures when travelling to different biomes.

haha same. but i also have a build for casting all spells without any mana and a Aloken build for 2 handed polearms that can kill light mender in seconds if done right :P all on the channel!
I tried out this skeleton summon in the desert area, he got insta gibbed by a couple beetles, he survived long enough to hit once doing about 1% of the beetles health in damage. This skill is trash and its baffling how its a top tier skill in the shaman tree.
its for more of a distraction in the beginning to get you geared and ready for late game

@@Nimblenicky its more of a distraction, then burn the enemy down with lightning or fire magic. Anything to help you distract an enemy in this game is a MAJOR benefit, definitely a top tier spell.
Unfortunately the summon is extremely weak except for early game, which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't because you don't get that skill until mid/late game

there is a rune combo, which is blue purple and then purple blue that gives you a 2hp/s healing buff

Haha thanks for the sub! And the thing about classes and or skills in this game is, there are 8 trainers "skill trees" and u have enough skill points to max 3 of them. This tree is the only one i know of with necromancy type spells.

I have some axe called living wood axe or something but it does 12 etheral damage and it fucks all the ghosts up they didn’t stand a chance when you use the mist boon with that!

Why is my map completely devoid of enemies to kill? It has been at least 30 to 40 in game days since I killed everything on my map and nothing has re-spawned yet...

@@NERDPotion Yes I have. I went to Burg to join the faction. Still no enemies upon returning. All corpses have been lying on the ground since their death. The only enemies that seem to respawn are the ones in dungeons, but even those take for ever.
@@BayouCityAstronomy you need to let pass 7 ingame days and then everything respawns, but during the 7 days you should not enter the map otherwise the "timer" resets and you need other 7 days. For dungeons you need 2-3 days and cites don't have a respawn from what I saw so far (respawn of object left on the ground and other stuff)

Generation zero is just graphic nice but no contents other then looting and robot.. This outward is that one !
Outward is definitely a unique experience. Prepare to die and possible remake your character several times before starting out for real if you don't look at guides. It's really easy to end up naked on a mountain in the middle of winter with no backpack or weapons.
btw you can just sleep on the floor in the tower its a safe zone

well there are a few wind spells in that tower u can use in combo with the elemental circle altars to create many diff effects. for instance ice circle + Wind push = Ice bolt

So the build basically removes player combat from the game. Honestly, given how clunky and messy Outward's combat is, that may be worth remembering if I ever do a second play-through.
I have no idea, what the problem is people have with the combat. Sure if you are used to Assassins Creed's super easy mode where everythibg drops with 1-2 clicks... but seriously, if you put in some effort and practice it's one of the best combat system you get.

tl;dr Its just clunky as fuck and comically imbalanced. Still a compelling game though.
The animations are stilted and the characters skate around a lot. Too many animations are uninterruptible. Hit boxes are more than a touch wonky.
The roll is garbage; no i-frames, barely longer than the radius of the explosive attacks that are the only things it is useful for dodging and way too long a windup. Add that to a prohibitive stamina cost and it just feels awful.
Stamina is just a complete mess. You spend it far too quickly for how long it takes to regenerate; especially given that enemies have infinite stamina and frequently massive health pools.
Posture (or whatever they're calling that) is reduced either far too quickly (infinite stun locking with heavy attacks) or way too slowly compared to how fast it regenerates (its basically not a mechanic if you're using a low impact weapon).
Enemies are capable of perfectly dodging attacks that there is no chance they could possibly see. And doing it while focused on someone else.
Enemy attacks have the wonkiest damage numbers compared to their timings. An attack with a massive, telegraphed wind-up (Tuanosaur Fireball) will tickle, but something with next to no wind-up (bandit mage ice blast thingy) will absolutely trash you.
DoTs are comically powerful. To the point where they basically automate the combat. DoT an enemy up and then just kite them round till they fall over.
Traps are beyond broken. Lay 5 or 6 down and casually obliterate most enemies. Slap a bleed/poison trap in there and its just comical.
Basically it feels like going back and playing a reasonably okay action RPG from 10 years ago (in terms of combat).
Its just clunky as fuck.

Except in Dark Souls power is conveyed well visually through the enemies' attack animations (long wind ups, BIG damage).
And Dark Souls has I-frames in its rolls.
Dark Souls stamina recovers quickly enough.
Dark Souls combat looks way snappier just by visual comparisons.
To me, the combat in Outward reminds me of Lords of the Fallen (again, just going by visuals), or Dark Souls 2 (super floaty).
The combat sucks early when your char sucks. But once you start maximizing trainer trees and getting good equip the combat becomes a lot better.
@@ggaccentc I already have one of the best weapons in the game (because traps allow you to cheese your way through anything with ease) and I've read all the trainer abilities. The combat gets easier, not better.
None of it in anyway addresses or corrects my issues with the combat, which are all based on the poor execution of the fundamental mechanics.

This build would be the biggest waste of money early and new player would suffer a ton and if you get it later it will be pretty useless my buddy got those spells to and he is like weak as hell with rune magic this spirit/necro stuff and the normal spells my char on the other hand focused on assasin skills for stronger traps chakrams and element warriors can easy deal with all enemy and 1 hit bosses with the traps :/
well this is more of a RP aspect of the game. It was never intended for power. The game for me is for a fantasy have fun type of gameplay. Not worrying on what's best

Rune magic you get from berg can cast a runic lamp
rune magic has lamp yes but the summon you have glows quite a bit as well in necromancy.
Does the runic lamp alert enemies?
as far as i know it doesn't. but the lamp can be combined with other rune spells to make it into a weapon

there are a total of 8 diff trainers for completely diff abilities. you have a max of 3 skill points and it takes 1 point to max a tree out. so u can make any combo of 3/8 trees.
Or even combine more stuff, without maxing it to the end - some basics can still be usefull (for example runemage light orb if u dont want to carry lanterns around)

The map is bigger than what is seen in this video right?
The map he shows is the first area only. all the other maps are around the same size differnt themes though like a forest, a desert, a swamp. Since all travel is done on foot it gets a bit tedious traveling from place to place.

Yeah its the same as casting any "boon" its just based on the area your in. Area with lots of fire? Fire boon which increases fire resistance. Pretty topical defensive skill honestly.

i was thinking does it buffs focus (discipline) on the warrior monk. i think it adds 15% to physical damage. and the rage from wild hunter.
i was thinking if discipline is a boon it should raise the damage to 20 or so.
