When I first started watching, I came for 'V' brake adjustment in an old, inexpensive mountain bike. I wasn't expecting the detailed explanations of all types of braking systems, and all other bicycle systems. You have encyclopedic knowledge to share, and a gentle way of explaining and demonstrating your skill and experience. Well done!
I used this video to get a job as a basic mechanic at a local shop. Now I’m the manager of the biggest shop in our city. So thank you! I’ve become very involved in the industry and biking!…. Plus i make quite a good paycheck now!… and instantly spend it all on bikes. AND I BLAME YOU!!! Lolol
This video taught me so many things I didn't know. It's great. Things that you"d think are common sense aren't for non professionals. This video covers so much. Thanks.
One of the best bike maintenance video This was the first one I've ever watched, when I knew very little about bikes, now years later I'm still coming back to it
Wow, I've had this vid open in my browser for a couple of weeks and still watching. Can't sing enough praise for it... a veritable Bible of bike knowledge... like a Kindle e-book, only way better!
Only the finest machanic tolerate this much details . It’s long but You will mitigate all upcoming bicycles problems. I do like this level of details. I am DIY guy for bicycle and car. Sometimes you run in rare and serious problems. You cannot find anywhere near solution videos so this kind of video has solutions.kudos to video uploader .❤
Your a great teacher. I arrived at your channel accidentally but feel so lucky . I learned so much more about things I thought I knew about , you also articulate perfectly with . Oh forgot now I must rewind..lol thank you!!!😎
This was extremely helpful and your presentation skills were top tier, man. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this video! I will share it with my friends.
25years ago on MTB. I had cantilever brakes, now I use V-brakes. In the future I will use hydraulic disc brakes. I totally agreed your adjustment on V-brakes. Perfect job, perfect tutorial!
Excellent video, a great public service. It always amazes me how easy some people make it look getting balls in and out from bearings. I find it so fiddly and it takes me ages!
Brilliant video, thank you so much :) :) While the UK is in lockdown I'm learning how to properly fix up my bike, and appreciate the clear explanations.
what a crisp & clear video. camera work, explanation, attention to detail 👍👌 I watched this video thoroughly and got to know so many things of how to handle the tools and the bicycle parts. I am passionate about trying my hands on repair works of my motorcycle and my bicycle. I have IceToolz 87A tool kit at my disposal and before trying my hands on my ride trying to learn more so I make less mistakes. This video is like A to Z of bicycle repair. Thank you so much for this knowledge it really means a lot for a bigginer like me. So, as per our Bharat/Indian culture you are my virtual Guru 🙏🏼😀 🙏🏼:) just one request like you started the video with a brief opening, please conclude it with a short closing statement so we know it is over. I was still watching and another man came in talking about how to build a toolkit 🤣🤣🤣 so got confused . Love and many thanks from Bharat/India 🙏🏼🚩🇮🇳
Bookmarked. this will definitely come in handy when I refurbish my old mtb. I never knew about cartridge brakes. I have two bikes that'll come in handy on for sure.
Dude, THANK YOU SO MUCH! You made an complete tutorial that it's better than many courses being sold in the Internet, once, thank you, you're job is amazing and your channel is one of the most important for TH-cam!
Nice work. About torque wrench. That set to zero is really good idea. Very happy to include in your video. Another think about that. If you can put that information in the video. Every bolt on a bicycle comes with Loctite. Blue mostly. If you do not remove it, it will be wrong torque. I learned long time ago on my scooter and his front wheel. I need to clean bolt every time I remove it and put fresh Loctite on it. If I do not do that, it will be loose. According to that I buy some very cheap tap and die set from Lidl. It is not suitable for making a thread but it is very capable of cleaning existing thread.
I had to pause youtube on my TV and go to the computer so as to add my comment that this video is truely AWESOME! Thank you so much! I wish I could subscribe many times to show how impressed I am :)
What an excellent, informative and comprehensive tutorial. Answered many questions. I’m doing an Ebike conversion, and this video gives me everything I need to do a complete service before the install
Thank you so so much for this great video! I started working as a bike mechanic and i knew basically nothing. However, now i know a lot more because of this video and I feel a lot more confident!
Amazing video, great information, detailed, and in high definition with close-ups. You sir, are a gentlemen, and a scholar! Thank you for your expertise and kindness. Namaste!
Wonderful tutorial, thank you so much. You have so much knowledge that you share, for example the V-brake example with the rubber-band and using your method instead. I have learned so much from you. Thanks!
This is fantastic video! Thank you for taking the time to make such a comprehensive maintenance vid. It must have been a ton of work to make this. I ordered a bike that will require a lot of set up work and I was wondering if I could do the derailleur set up and brake set up myself...
1:05:33 Some tires will be VERY difficult to put on the wheel. It will take an enormous amount of strength using 2 tire levers to get it on the wheel.. good luck lol.
I've just discovered your channel and think it is fantastic. I have subscribed as your explanations are awesome and a great "one stop shop" for bicycle maintenance
Amazing video JUST WHAT a noob like me needed collecting a 2016 YT Capra CF Pro in few days very excited. But trying to LEARN as much as I can for preventative maintenance to look after it
Wish l knew about your channel 1 year ago when I built a cube AMS from the frame up, so much trial and error as l had not owned a MTB for 20 year's,very informative channel for people.
Seriously good video, easy to understand with clear descriptions of tasks being carried out , my biggest issue is always getting cranks removed even with the right tools .
I use loctite blue on most of my fasteners, I ride DH and street ride a full suspention a DJ , parts loosen often without loctite so price of mind is important
This routorial is the best ine so fae thanks fir all the info i am now only at the brakes and already amazed my brakes work perfectly nou that you teached me about it thanx very much🤟🙌
