    I might have spent more time then any competitor in jiujitsu focusing on the knee slice. I consider it the strongest No Gi Pass possible, and you can hit from a very wide variety of positions and angles.
    Feel free to check out my No Gi Buzzsaw Passing instructional on BJJ Fanatics if you want to learn virtually everything about the knee slice 🙃

    I’m unathletic and investigating some martial arts out of interest in trying it… The Space Station 13 guy in the intro completely blindsided me, did not expect that lol. And chemist role too… good taste. You know Dwarf Fortress has a really deep grapple system that almost lets you sim some martial arts which is pretty cool. Used to try to do some grapple stuff in the mode you play as 1 dwarf

    Curious about that near side arm, which is traditionally used to pull on the arm in order to pin the opponents shoulders to the mat, and then transition to the cross face, so they can’t get to their side and face you.
    What’s the benefit to giving that up for a post?

  • @michaelupsala420

    Ive been trying your pass at 7:50 and am having trouble passing the other butterfly hook. What if the opponent leaves his knee really close to his chest? How do you cut without the leg getting in the way?

    3:50 - I've always been confused why higher belts don't attack lasso with footlocks more often. You said "most of those don't work very well" - what is the fundamental problem with them from this position?

    • @joeyripswell
      @joeyripswell 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i dont sit in lasso. not because i worry about being foot-locked but its not a good defensive guard imo. spider isnt really good either. its good for launching attacks and sweeps though. my fav sweep ever is lasso to sweep to biceps slicer. but ofc be careful with the finish. i know how bad spider is as a defensive guard because i crush it as soon as their foot goes for my biceps. lasso is tricky to pass but the double under is there.

    • @BallstinkBaron
      @BallstinkBaron ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably a little late but I wear kneepads, the ones I have are soft padding and don't provide any joint reinforcement. They are designed for lacrosse but work great so far for bjj

    • @BallstinkBaron
      @BallstinkBaron ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have stability issues I'd recommend knees over toes regimen and a kneepad with some sort of added stability (they usually have elastic in specific areas to add support to the patella, etc.)
