Placido was on the verge of death there for our learning. Respect.
All the advances humanity makes, someone has to suffer for it.
The moment when he was about to tap and John danaher be like "he goes to bridge....he goes to elbow escape..."
His lungs be like: bro please man
He died for our sins.
😅😂😅
Bernardo thinking: Thank God I got Placido to do this..... phew....
Placido suffering is hysterical unintentional slapstick comedy. I think it's that John and Bernardo hardly acknowledge it, as he's dying in the corner after a technique. He deserves a medal.
Apparently he’s now a brown belt at holding his breath
The real black belt move is Bernardo having someone else be the practice dummy for this video.
Homie was getting SMASHED and nobody checked on him lmao thats fucked up 🤣
Nothing short of beautiful. He gets suffocated and keeps on paying attention while feeling like death lol. Goals
@@jamestk656 first thing I noticed...haha
I love that capturing Placido's suffering is such a meme. Poor Placido.
He trades his pain for knowledge
He’s equally having a great and bad time.
Huge honor for him
“When they can’t fucking breathe, and they’re wondering where their next fucking breathe is, they start to panic. Let’s see what I’m talking about “
* motions placido to the mat to be mounted*
“Hello darkness my old friend” playing through Placido’s head whilst suffocating
John Danaher: ....So when he goes to bridge
Placido: taps out*
John Danaher: ...Bridge
Placido: dies*
John Danaher: ...Bridge
Placido: comes back to life and bridges*
Kick!
So when he tries to come back to life it’s impossible
😂😂😂😂
@@sdfasdfsaification 😂
😂
This is such a game changer of a video but I just can’t stop cracking up at how much they’re putting poor Placido through 😭
“Here lay down” 😭😭😭😭😭
He looks so exhausted after a few of those 😂
He’s getting dummie smashed for real
I love Bernardo's face after placido taps....he's got a massive smile on his face ..."wow that's incredible John "😂😂
hahahahahahahaha
John is Dexter IRL if you didn't know
'i don't care how good they are, they're no longer thinking about how am i gonna get out of the mount. They're thinking about where am i gonna get my next fucking breath.' - John Danaher, 2022
John doesn’t drop the F Bomb often, but when he does it’s potent and he stares into your soul 7:47
13:47 he drops another
I love how much Bernardo obviously loves to learn.
Yeah, thats one of the best parts of these videos. Bernardo is a multiple time world champion and he's geeking out like a blue belt who just learned something cool.
I love Jon’s way of explaining things.
“We need to expose our training partner’s head to our hand.”
*smacks placido in the back of the head*
I’ve always struggled with Danaher’s videos, probably due to a short attention span. This however, was my favourite by far and I learned a tonne. Instantly improved my mount.
All of his videos are a struggle to get through but their packed with so much info/details I force myself to watch a small bit of it everytime. Gordon's is much more concise but Danaher's has more general concepts.
I watch at 2.75x, so I was very confused at how you could find something I find so captivating hard to watch. But yeah, at normal speed, I bet it's excruciating.
@@0b3ryn29 Some people prefer that I guess. I'd rather know the concepts underlying the techniques
@@JD2jr. there's probably a legit market for danaher clips but shortened and to the point XD
Opposite for me. I love it. I love details, concepts, and principles that scale beyond the specific technique.
But I’m also the guy who prefers to study music theory before I can even play a complete song on piano. 😂😂
Bernardo Faria a super jiujitsu champion with a learning heart of a white belt.
The good news is that if Placido ever experiences water boarding he will be well prepared.
The second he said "he's thinking 'Where am I gonna get my next fucking breath,'" i instantly liked the video
Honest advice to anyone who can’t hear John Danaher: at the start of any of his videos, just turn on closed captioning. Don’t bother complaining about the mics, just turn on CC and you won’t miss much. It’s pretty accurate. Oss
I like how Danaher clearly explains the original aim of Jiu-Jitsu: self defense and fighting. In that case you want position then submission.
Take strikes out, then position is not always before submission.
الزيت
Instead of position, he specifically states its control before submission for sub grappling. His 6 submission systems all teach the 6 major control points that lead to the 6 most succesful submissions.
@@0b3ryn29 What are the six most successful subs?
@@4m4z1n-grace8 look at Danaher's enter the system. Heel Hook, RNC, guillotine & arm triangle variations, kimura, triangle, armbar. These 6 have strong control positions before going for the sub. Much easier to sub when you can control the opponent's movement.
@@0b3ryn29 I'll add this to my game, thanks a lot
At 17:55 Placido's soul asks him if it can come back into his body but he just waves it off like nah bro 😂
I have to say this technique is legit I was rolling today, my partner actually tapped with just this maneuver I didn’t even have to follow up with any other submission. I was going to set up an arm triangle but once I started putting pressure got the tap without it.
Same here man!
I have been tapped with this by a frestyle wrestler. It definitely works lmao
Same! I'm a white belt no stripe, watched this video 30 mins before practice and then tapped out a training partner with this during sparring! Also used it to set up an armbar with another training partner. John and Bernardo really dropped a knowledge bomb with this video.
Fantastic video. This is truly amazing. I feel privileged to just watch this for free. Its simple genius, not overly complicated and to the point.
0:48 John Danaher's philosophy for submission grappling in short! "In bottom position you attack the lower body first (everything else second). And top position - you focus on passing first and upper body submissions first and lower body second."
John Danaher + Bernardo = insta watch
PLEASE invest in mics for daddy Danaher. My volume is on max and still kind of hard to hear him during the first half of the video
Placido's reaction at 14:35 lol, props to him for enduring this
So systematically devious and brilliant. Thank you for this!
I am from Africa were the is a low number of coach's the fundamental way of teaching breaking down the basics really help. I always choose the best coaching video available.
I love the systemic approach. Starting with an Americana attack makes sense for me, then go for the shoulder pressure, hand crawling...this is basic but very important BJJ concept
Yup, I'm also watching this after Gordon subbed Jacob Couch. I never knew that a top level guy could tap another top level guy with pressure.
Placido:
John Danaher: This is an indirect attack
Placido: cool bro
John Danaher : gets 5 finishes
all i can focus on is the sound of placido taking his final breaths on johns microphone
Danahar is such a fucking joy to learn from. Yes he is a little long wind, but the passion and all the little gems and details that make a huge difference just make it so worth it
This is game changing - thank you for sharing! 🙏
bout to spam this in training. I get a lot of mounts and fail a lot of subs from it. super helpful
Great little details to improve the position. Thanks Mr Danaher and keep putting out the great content Bernardo!
I had to stop doing this technique, I was landing it too often, it felt cheap. Thanks for the game changer
He put Gordon alone up there with Roger. Few opinions carry as much weight as this guy’s when it comes to jiu jitsu. I can’t wait to look back at this comment after ADCC. It’ll be pretty legendary no matter what
I love learning new details from such a basic position. This keeps BJJ interesting for life.
This video is absolutely amazing. I’ve done only two classes and the video is so enlightening. BUT, the young lad suffering while the other two talk strategy and tactics is hilariously funny.
Kudos to the young man 👍👍💪💪
OMG, i used that in Sambo, its works!!!!!
Never seen anyone demo the Fist Choke from Mount that uses the Chest! Works way before all of the High Mount movements!
Every detail has more thought to it than most people put training time into!
Watch at 18:00 min mark where Placido re enters the world of the living and immediately starts reflecting on his life
this man always bringing up jiujitsu history
on behalf of everyone. Thank you placido
John went turbo on those elbows
These videos are pure gold
Didn’t expect to see Placido motorboating John
Lightbulb 💡 moment of epic proportions , thanks 🙏 coach , thanks Bernardo and THANKS Placido for the hell you went through for us lol!!!!
Mad love for our boy Placido
Danaher is basically teaching Catch wrestling seminar here. We've gone a full circle now.
Jiu-jitsu mindset for striking + gi.
Catch wrestling for no-striking + no-gi.
The most vicious mounted elbows I've seen 😳
I always enjoy how bjj grapplers never use the word 'judo'. Especially in historical context.
Great instructional video.
damn much respect to placido for getting his ass kicked in this episode...bro's face said it all
Couch will be studying this... Gordon smothered him.
2:17 Placido yawns. John's so good, he puts people to sleep without making any contact.
I'm just glad that we got the timeline where John Danaher is a jiu jitsu genius and not the other ones where he's a serial killer
This Is Absolutely Incredible
Placido before the video: : "yea i am going to do a video with John and Bernando !"
Placido 10 mins into the video : " i just want to breath"
How are these instructionals 1K but you can not get ANY advice on audio quality? Please I love the videos, but please just fix the audio. It has been an issue that has not been addressed since day 1. Hell, the first leg lock dvd had to be re-released due to audio issues and even the second release was terrible.
Danaher is unbelievable.
14:35 Dude is like 'WTF just happened?'
EXCELLENT instructor
Wow so much knowledge packed into 22 minutes!
“I need a raise” - John’s demonstration partner
I've been using the same system for the past 20+ years. Simple and effective against everybody.
Except instead of this Chest Block, I use a Catch wrestling Jaw Lock to create panic reactions and capture the arm. The rest is 1-to-1 the same.
Whats a Catch wrestling Jaw Lock
Link to video or article please
I'm glad this video was made. I practice krav maga and we incorporate groundwork all the time and this is excellent. Taking away breathing is definitely a great attack.
God himself is delivering unto us the 'Sermon on Mount' 🙏
Gordon used this to finish the hillbilly hammer..
Thank you for your service Placido
We salute you, Placido.
I love these videos. Thank you, Bernardo and John!
Exceptionally articulated, thank you.
Bernardo please film colby covingtons mma wrestling instructional. Lots of people are going to buy it.
Literally yesterday had this problem was training no gi and I always got the mount position but no luck submitting them and I was thinking what is the tactics and this video is a live saver. Waiting for next week to finish somebody doing this.
I feel for Placido, thats rough.
You have the best bjj content on youtube, but please fix you audio, your videos are so quiet
John Danaher reminds me of a James Bond villain ( in the best possible way )
Amazing explanation of mount, worth the whole thing.
Pouring one out for the homie Placido.
I will try this at practice tomorrow!
Awesome Stuff
Lol placido was not feeling the placebo effect. You watch when he started working toward where he was covering him in high mount the veins on his head were looking like they were about to burst
Exactly @14:37 Placido started to believe in god
very clear .thanks john
amazing teach, that's is a great teacher !!! very very good !
I tried it and it worked easily . Thanks a lot
Outstanding move! Today I was on a regular training session, it is only my 3d week, and I though about how to attack breathing because I'm not too skilled to do a submission, so I tried to creat something like that. And after a class i see your video! Great! Thank you guys! I will try that tomorrow on open mat😀
This is really amazing. This is exactly what I looking for.
And again so great submissions
Poor Placido!!! Rubbing his own neck. Hahaha respect!!!
Just Awesome! Thanks for posting.
Placido’s expressions 😂
Go watch Gordon vs Lachlan Giles ADCC 2019, Gordon uses this exact attack. Cool to see it in action
Great uge he is awsome, thanks great videos! To all
My god getting a lot of chest suffocation taps on white belts tonight
I cant hear it
Channeling that Terry Silver: "if a man can't breath, he can't fight."
Omg placido taps and he's like now the panic sets in and you can keep him from breathing for even longer until he starts squirming.
John's instructional are so important and helpful, but at max volume I can't hear him well. Can we please start putting a microphone on the greatest mind in jujitsu?
Plácido you are the man
Thanks for the sharing🙏🙏
Keep up the good work 😊
I'm new to BJJ (only 1 year), but I always try to get the mount, and put on pressure from top, whether it's pushing my chest to partner's face or shoulder pressure. Most of my sparing submissions wins are from that. Recently I also started to do alot of triangle from s-mount too. Mount is definitely my favorite position to be in, but as much as mount I also love kesa getame, it gvies me the same feeling of having total control of the situation.
