I am a Japanese camp shop that will try kickstarter in March! I'm fascinated by your videos and spend about 30 minutes watching one movie while translating! Thank you for letting me experience a very good movie for free! We will faithfully carry out your know-how! If my results come out, I'll thank you from the bottom of my heart! I'll be back!
Mark! I just came across to TH-cam from your last email and I have to THANK YOU SOO MUCH for the mountains of FREE value-adding tips you offer your followers. YOU ARE AMAZING! The amount of detail you go into is invaluable!
I'm so happy! I didn't expect to hear back from you!! I have a question, so please let me know! It would be great if you could make a video. Q1 How long is the best time to advertise for pre-launch customer attraction? What's the price again? Q2 What percentage of vip subscribers purchase on the first day?
I recommend advertising ~2 months out from your campaign. The target cost per reservation is max 20% the price point of your product. On average, 30% of VIP subscribers purchase. -Mark
Great educational video! Very detailed, precise, informative, and directly to the point! Appreciate the knowledge you are sharing to help motivate, inspire, and empower us to move forward with launching a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign! Thanks Mark! - Anthony 777 🎧
You have so many helpful tips and strategies, thank you!! I have 2 questions that hopefully you can answer for me... 1. I am an artist making my own art book (like a portfolio of my work, it's not a how-to-draw book), so I don't really know how an art book can solve people's problems lol. So should I just focus more on the "feelings" part of the pyramid? 2. Where and how do you set up the pre-launch reservation sign up? On your website only? and then create announcements with links to your website to sign up?
For sure! See my answers below: 1. When it comes to art, I agree that problem / solution framing isn't the best way to explain positioning. With that said, I would still argue that you can use the categories from the CBBE to help you with your positioning. For example, for Performance, you can talk about the style of art (illustrations, photography, watercolor, etc.). For Imagery, you can imagine where this art book would live (on a coffee table, in a modern apartment, etc.). For judgments, you can think about the doubts people may have about the value of your art (what credibility to you have as an artist? Where has your art been featured? What other art have you created?). 2. You can set it up on your own website. You need some type of website building software and a way to collect payments. There are lots of different softwares to use like Leadpages, Squarespace, Weebly, Wordpress, etc. We like to use Stripe for payment processing.
@@launchboom_official Thank you so very much for taking the time to quickly answer my questions. I was thinking of similar "performance" type of examples. I can use some time lapse vidoes of me drawing as well as photos of me at shows, holding my art, etc. I do have my own website and I use Square so I will look into that on their website. i didn't even realize that was an option, so thank you so much again for your advice and help :)
I've been researching and designing a product I think will do well globally. I don't really have the funding but have equity on a second home I rent out. I think I'm ready to prototype it now but I'm having trust issues and am worried somebody steal my idea. I have a list of product designers I want to call but I'm scared to call them due to my trust issue.
Completely understand the fear, but in my 10 years of doing this, creators usually overestimate the risk of their idea getting stolen. With that said, there are ways to mitigate your risk some by having the people you work with sign some sort of NDA. -Mark
@@launchboom_official I have recently read about the NDA so will definitely do that. I've taken time off work recently and have done nothing but think of invention ideas. So far I've got around 8-12 ideas. I think 5-6 of them have got some potential and the others I really believe they can do really well. I just need to figure out now how to get this right Thanks for the quick response Mark P.S I like your channel and hope it does well👍
Ohai launchboom. I've looked at your site a while back... Do you think websites/apps do well on kickstarter? I'm trying to figure out what category that would even fit into... publishing? art? design & tech?
We mainly focus on physical consumer products, but there are some cases were software does well on the platform. There is a category on Kickstarter for software: www.kickstarter.com/discover/categories/technology/software
@@launchboom_officialwhat if the website is already done (so it's not just a concept on a napkin) but we need more money for cooler features/more content? We want to create a killer campaign and get as many eyeballs as possible on it.

I have the idea product and design but it’s necesary have the product in my hand first? I don’t have the budget to create yet that’s why I wanna try kick
Amazing! I am ready!, I traveled to 40 cities around the world teaching guitar for free and discovered a way that allows people without music experience to do a concert after 21 days (I have like 20 video testimonials of this). Would you say the product here would be the 21 online video course?, I was thinking more about getting funded to do the videos and then use those videos give the world the opportunity to experience how the guitar can be a tool for reshaping stress (I have research on this) and then invite people to join Guitar communities around the world. I have a scalable model for this but I am trying to see wich one would be the product to offer on Kick starter. maybe initially sell access to an online community with teachers and accountability? is that possible?
The campaigns that work best on Kickstarter are the ones that have a tangible product they are going to get. With that said, something like a course could work, but I wouldn't expect the dollars raised to be very large. Most likely less than $10K.
I have a patented toilet seat that effectively helps everyone take a more complete, efficient, and cleaner #2 … especially those suffering from constpation!
How’s the launch going? Typically I see creators having a lot of trouble gaining momentum on their campaign if they don’t follow the pre-launch steps I go over in this video. If that’s the case, some may choose to cancel and re-launch. Look up Midronome, Kublet or OKU Desk who are three projects who did that. -Mark
I don’t like your logo it looks like a notice/ caution sign. It is repulsive. Make the rocket bigger or something. It’s not just me it’s everyone else it’s a subconscious thing. Trust me I know
We try to let creators know ASAP when we don't think we'll be the best fit. It's typically because we don't have a lot of success with their product category so we wouldn't feel comfortable trying to sell our services.
@@PrinceOfOpinion The fact they’re not upfront about supporting software firms/startups is very disingenuous from their misleading mission statement. This hinders progress contrary to what they claim. The “product” is pure positive returns from the algorithm I’ve created for Crypto and FOREX trading. I was lucky enough to get funding since I posted this a month ago. I’m Federal GC and through a few federal grants, I got initial funding and based on that funding I was able to use it as collateral to fund the startup. Again, this is MY experience and I’m letting everyone know how the experience was and how folks like @launchboom_official hinders startups. Plain and simple, it’s black and white. No gray areas here. I even have all the back and forth emails with these clowns. On top of that, one of their reps contacted me and while I was explaining the architecture he cut me off and said “we don’t fund software startups” and I was shocked considering everything is pretty much software driven. From a laser level on a construction site to the phone in your pocket. These guys could have capitalized on my algorithm but that ship sailed. Anyhoo, I’m funded, I’ve got a staff of 22 and we’re looking to triple our staff in two months or so. I recorded all the conversations I had with Launch Boom reps. Snake oil IMHO.
@@launchboom_official That not what your rep stated. He flat out said you don’t fund software startups. If that’s incorrect, re-train your staff. If you don’t believe me I’m happy to send the Voice recording along or just post on TH-cam to hear how rude your reps are. Even if you have a shit product or offering (which you guys have), Customer Service and Support will relive the backlash from this kind of fallout. Please take what I’m saying and make sure you’re very clear about what’s funded and what isn’t. Regarding not having “a lot of success with their product category” you guys couldn’t even comprehend the Calculations being performed on the CUDA cluster. Of course you won’t be comfortable because this is literally inventing technologies that are emerging. It took me a culmination of 11 years in FinTech to come up with what we have now and it’s extremely successful. If you’re in the US, turn to a Federal Grant rather than wasting your time with firms trying to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge. Again, this is MY experience with your firm. I hope my feedback leads to a betterment of your offering.
