I absolutely do not understand how some people have either never seen or don't like Grease. It is an absolute treasure that I can't keep myself from singing along to.
When me, my sister, and my cousins were younger between the ages of about 6 and 10 we watched Grease at my grandma’s island house on Block Island RI and loved it - I will always remember my cousin Sam’s impression of Danny (John Travolta) singing the words “it’s electrifying” in You’re The One That I want” - it was always spot on and made me laugh so hard - hard to believe that he is now 19 and I am now 20!

I remember seeing "Grease" in the theatre when I was a teenager. A friend who was like a brother to me had a mad crush on Dinah Manoff (Marty). He was also Italian and taught me some of the...um...more colorful dialog. Such an important movie to my teen-hood. I even won a singing competition on the radio, singing "There Are Worse Things I Could Do".

It's number 2 for me. So it's really close to number 1 but I love Summer nights just a touch more. But yeah it is truly a great song. Because in it is a good message. That just because someone may seem different than you are it doesn't mean that person isn't a real person with real emotions. Even if they do have a pretty spunky hard core attitude like Rizzo has during the movie. I believe that is the message she is trying to tell us through that song. That's just one of the reasons why Rizzo is my 2nd favourite in that movie. Because she was able to send that message in a 2 minute song. It also is really nice for people who are dealing with bullying or having rumors spread about them. I think hearing that song would make them feel like they aren't so alone & that there are other people who are dealing with that too.
I remember my 5th grade teacher showed us grease but she fast forwarded through the scene where kenickie and rizzo make out in he back of his car hahahaha.
Ikr. It must have taken a long time to film that entire dance scene because everyone has to get their moves & lines right & there is now way anyone would have been able to do that in 1 take
In regards to "Hopelessly Devoted to You", I never noticed it before now how different it sounds musically compared to the rest of the songs in the movie. Nearly every song within the movie itself sounds like it could've come from the 50's, but "Hopelessly Devoted to You" wouldn't have been out of place in the albums Olivia Newton-John was putting out at that time.

Grease is one of best musicals ever . Everybody is done good job for both in acting and singing and dancing. Danny hide there relationship because he think that his friends will making fun because who really was ,and Sandy changed because she want be friends with pink ladies from the beginning.
