I bought this as my first car and I definitely dont regret it. I spend a good amount of everyday commuting to work and to school and I very rarely have to refill. I never get lower than 50 MPG and I often push it to 70-75 MPG. I have plenty of space, enjoy the turning radius (I’m a pretty urban driver and I’m constantly parking in tight space), the car was under 10K, and besides the goofy looking front it’s really nice in white! You really have to take some time to learn how to efficiently drive it because there is a little bit of a trick to breaking, cruising, and accelerating in ways that don’t kill your MPG. If you’re not good at interactive driving or multitasking I can see why it might be difficult. Otherwise, I love my car, it’s the perfect college student car at a really good price!
Hi friend, my Prius c 2015 makes only 35 mpg in the city. I usually drive short distances. Also my town is too cold in winter, does this have to do with this high fuel consumption? What do you suggest I can do? I need your help. Thanks
Have had my 2012 since mid 2013, can't complain. Great audio and ac. Fits anywhere and I don't cringe when gas prices go up. Great transportation, though not as comfortable on long journeys. All in All, good value for the money.
I did my homework and comparisons and I was sold on the Prius C. It was so much fun buying this car 3 days ago and driving around town. The Gas savings is not to be believed as you can push it up to 80, 90 mpg depending on your driving habits. I do a lot of city driving and its fun driving off the electric motor. The display gives you so much information on where the energy is coming from, engine, battery or both! Definitely get cruise control as the car will decide best gas savings on hwy.
That is the exact question I wanted to know since I drive up to San Francisco at least three times a year to visit friends. I just got my Prius less than two months ago but I have yet to drive it up there, but a couple of my friends who live up there have Prius' and they have no complaints.
I really wanted to get the Prius C because I wanted a Prius but not the Prius price tag. However, that 99 horsepower nagged at me. I drive a lot and didn't want that to be an issue. Plus I have always had cars with sunroofs and I like gadgets and by the time I got the "well equiped" Prius C, I might as well have gotten me the Prius III which is what I got and am happy! I got my sunroof and my gadgets and didn't lose lots of power or space for my dogs. :-)
Regenerative braking which charges the battery, it's the same thing that happens when you press the brake pedal down slightly. Not traditional engine braking.
@spitfire1203x Lol. You sounds like a VW rep. The Jetta TDI is 4-5k more expensive when similarly equipped. It's mileage is significantly worse, especially in the city, which is exactly the point of the Prius C, a city car. The TDI is a good car, but they have entirely different markets.
People should get a prius C 2 that is the best model to get for most people. You don't need entune that is just gonna keep you distracted from driving! You can get a navi and mount it on your car for less than a 100 bucks! If you need more comfortable seating for what ever reason then get the 4 if you need a moon roof then get a 3 or a 4! Prius C one is a useless piece of crap! no center armrest no split folding seats, the seats come down all in piece!
As a rookie on hybrid vehicles, I want to know why Japanese hybrids are so much cheaper than German or American hybrids? one thing I noticed was that they are usually lighter, then I assume they're less safer compared to German or American cars, but IIHS gave them very high scores, really confusing. Also, are these Japanese companies making the best hybrids???
kopolojoyono Weight does not dictate how safe a car is, hence why automakers always try to make their car lighter for fuel economy and efficiency (e.g. New aluminium body F150). Japanese hybrids are better than American and German ones because they've been doing hybrids for longer. German carmakers prefer focusing on high power gasoline or diesel vehicles. American carmakers hate diesels and love gasoline engines. If you want a good hybrid, there's nothing better than a Prius, except if you want power then you should go for a McLaren P1.
+WuWei Xu Actually German hybrids are better when they choose to make them because they use lithium ion rather then horrible for the environment shit like nickle cadmium that the prius uses.
John Lawry Name me one German hybrid that gets the MPG that Prius gets and then I'll agree. Some Prius's have lithium ion battery, and even those that don't aren't suffering from it.
WuWei Xu mpg is not everything if it was then there are german diesels that get better mpg. Its more of a bigger picture about how good the car is all together. Yes I do know that some of the Prius's use lithium ion but majority of them don't but do you know the environmental damage that is caused by nickel mines and you people claim to be all worried about the environment. But to answer your question the BMW I8 gets 76 mpg combined I can even through a super car your way how about the Porsche 918 spyder with that car if you want to go fast such as 0-60 in 2.8 seconds you can but if you don't you can get 72 mpg
John Lawry I've got so many questions for you... Why would you compare a diesel with a hybrid? They are two different types of powertrains and it makes no sense to compare the two. Why would you say "you people claim to be all worried about the environment"? You do realize I'm not a Prius owner and I'm just a guy who likes cars. Lastly, a BMW i8 gets 76 MPGe, not 76 MPG. There's a big difference. The i8 is rated at 28 MPG, which is about 22 MPG lower than a Prius, unsurprisingly. Most of your points are filled with false information. I'd rather not talk to someone who can't get their stuff straightened out.
diesel isnt that much more expensive than normal gas. and normal gas is getting more expensive but diesel has a more stable price. and this car is awful everywhere but in town. any semi open roads or highways andthis thing will just be too slow. AND your compairing it to a jetta tdi. you cant compare a compact to a midsize.
Is it me or does Brian sounds like he's having a sore throat or something? Several things are missing in this video such as its torque and MPG, very not typical of his video reviews.
I don't want to be a dick, But i'll pay two grand more on a much nicer, better built car, which come with standard heated front seats and No-Charge Scheduled Maintenance for 36 months. BTW VW Jetta TDI - 140hp and 236lbs of torque. Toyota Prius - 99hp and 82lbs of torque.

All u need is stereo Bluetooth for the car and ur phone would make a great center console with music player, nav, phone, and more.

Does this car has full Ev mode just like other regular Prius?

99hp is good, in a car thats 500 lighter than standard prius. Power to weight ratio
Brian sounds like he got Cold.
It's annoying nobody knows what B actually stands for. It's for engine braking in hilly areas, not for charging the battery more.
also for stop and go traffic

Have this car its SO GREAT!
Y do u need to know ur stocks in ur car!
cooley sounds so bored in this video lol
A 47 mpg dependable hybrid by Toyota with a large backseat for 20 grand? Pretty good deal...
I'm laughing at all of the vw diesel comments now Hahahahha
We dont get the c model in the UK we get the Yaris Hybrid
Mini Cooper, Ford Focus, Mazda 3, VW Golf TDI, Honda CRZ, Dodge Dart, and more
It's actually 50 combined mpg lol. But close enough. It gets at least 53 city.
yes its around $24,000.
yes, and its a vw, with a lot of power and better quality
i never seen this prius c in the uk
+takito butface Toyota doesn't sell this Prius C in Europe; it is supplanted by the Yaris Hybrid which markets with the Prius C doesn't get.
I believe the Prius C and the Yaris hybrid have the same powertrain
@@shtech99 They do

definitely more fun to drive though.

MPG?
real world 60 miles commuter 45
around town 60+

No ads on my phone xd

Better fuel economy
Shorter
Lighter
1.5 engine

Why do people have to drive so damn fast ? I am happy going 40 mph , less chance of serious wreck. Speed limits should be no more than 45

get VW diesel and you will save couple of grand and even more on mpg.

Why do have to drive cheap quality , ugly , slow car in order to get good gas mileage? Can car company produce a cool, hip car that good gas ,image?
