With the backseats down I can fit my bass, a 4X10” cab and a head easily
as a guitarist i was looking for a vehicle that fit drumset and guitars
Just fold the seats down or put it in the backseat. It's ok to think.
This is what many many people drive in Japan..it's called the Aqua over there
The Panasonic Nanoe function is my favorite thing about this car😀Not sure if they have it everywhere overseas though since I never see anyone mention it in reviews.
Japanese people buy reliable and efficient cars, and the Toyota Aqua is probably the most reliable car coming from Toyota.

After looking for reviews of other cars that I'm considering, I've grown nostalgic for this reviewing style. Thanks for making this.
Drive a prius c 3 package and it's great on gas, never got stuck in snow but little under powered. The great thing is that it's a clean pass vehicle so you drive in Hov lane in NY and since it's a green vehicle I have a green ezpass which offers cheaper rates on tolls.
I like this guy. Real straight forward and to the point. REAL information I can actual understand. I wish all my research videos were like this.
Glad I found your videos. I like how your reviews are like a normal person.
Not worried about driving dynamics or fun factor in cars that are not designed for that realm of driving.

Good job, Greg. I have been driving a Tundra and as I just retired, I was going to have to make some serious curtailing of my driving. I've had this Prius C for several months now and I'm asking myself, "Self, why is Toyota not shouting to the rooftops about this car?" I no longer have to worry if my gas consumption is ruining my budget. Very liberating, I can now go wherever I want. Thanks for the review.

2:51 You have mistaken here. The battery is not in the engine compartment, but under the rear seat.

Thanks for a great review. Just bought one to replace my Toyota Sienna. Previously I had a Pontiac Vibe which I loved but went with the Sienna to have something to carry the grandkids around when they visited. Now I'm going back to small and sporty and can't wait. Having the split back seat fold-down option gives me plenty of cargo space and I'm more than ready to experience the fuel economy after my gas-guzzling Sienna.

Nice review. I have bought a Prius C a couple months ago and love it. I live in a city and am married with 2 dogs. It's been fine for groceries. We also took it on a road trip with 2 small dogs and had enough room when we folded the back seat down. I love the mileage and the technology. I would recommend upgrading up to the Prius C3 version.
The package 4 level is even better

Hey Greg, Great review. I happen to have a 2012 Prius C and am giving it to my daughter who is killing me with the cost of gas in her 2000 GMC Jimmy. Just an FYI for your readers. I have 18700 miles on the 2012 and am averaging 53.6 mpgs. This coming from a guy who didn't even want to test drive one! It's actually fun to drive and really gets the mpgs they claim. Again thanks for the review.

This video was very informative in a straight-forward fashion. I have been in the market for a new car, and am still researching my options. While the "C" is too small for my needs (looking seriously at Prius V), I still appreciated the information conveyed.

I love my 2012 C. During the winter months I average 50mpg but during the warmer months, that jumps to the mid 60's. Depending on the number of hills, trips can even get as good as 90mpg.

Thanks for the review, I found this helpful. We test drove this car trim level 2, a ford fiesta, chevy sonic, and hyundai accent this weekend. We have narrowed it down to the prius and the sonic. I will be doing mostly highway driving but found the sonic with the 1.4L turbo engine was way more fun to drive than the Prius and still gets 40 mpg highway. The Prius also was alot louder at highway speeds.

Just purchased a Prius C 4. With the 2015 rebates might as well get fancy lol. I never ever ever thought i was ever going to own one. It does lack the get up when driving on the freeway, but i knew that when i test drove it.
I like the way you review the car. You make me reconsider the C.

I appreciate the candid video but as somebody who recently purchased this model used, I can say that I disagree with the characterization of the trunk. Yes, the trunk itself is limited but you can easily pop the back seats down and they lay pretty flat. I was able to fit a lot of stuff from an Ikea run that way. Can you tote around two kids and a pile of groceries from Costco? No. But if that is part of your everyday life, you wouldn't be buying this car anyway. What he's saying about the sight lines though, I totally agree with. That is probably what I like least about this car. The mini mirrors and rear view camera try to make up for it, but I still get nervous about changing lanes in heavy traffic driving this car.

+Jon Stein I just bought the new 2015 Prius C and have to say I love it. Sure, I bought it for only the fuel economy (I commute 110 miles/day round trip to and from work) so it's ideal for a commuter car, the power of the car is honestly enough, if you're the type of person that likes to get the where they're going without a rush and likes simplicity then this is definitely a good fit!
+Jon Stein I must have seem most of the prius c reviews that's on youtube, this was one of the better one, very honest, straight to the point review, knew what he was talking about. not too technical, but I didn't mind that, it doesn't really matter, it's a city car with great milage. for those who wanted to know abit more, it's base on the yaris' chassis, using a downsize 2nd gen prius power train. after 2015, it upgraded the llights to LED, and added some spot welding for rigidity.
It very well could be. I have two friends, both with families of four and they have been very happy with their 3rd Gen Prius (regular hatchback). I think the C makes for a good urban runabout, the regular Prius is little better all around. They both recently took long road trips (like more than 4,000 miles) and they both reported their MPG average as over 45 mpg. Pretty impressive!

Yeah, I do know that is its intended use, I just never had any luck with it in both the C and the Prius hatchback no matter how judicious I was with the throttle.

This is a very great review. I drive a 2011 Fit right now, and just wanted to browse at some other options, should the time come to trade it in sometime in the future. This is probably my favorite option thus far. I want a hybrid, and I love hatchbacks!

There is an access “jump start” module under the hood that allows you to test and access the 12 volt without having to undo panels on the rear passenger side seat to get to the battery itself (of course you won’t have to replace the 12 volt for at least 100k miles)

One month owner of a Prius c One I am a former truck driver, so, I have been driving this car on my daily commute with the aim of getting higher mileage. To date, I've gotten 60.12, 60.16, and 61.5 miles on a commute of 61 miles. My drive is from an altitude of 2500 feet to about 900 feet (to work), over 30.5 miles each way. I have not yet done a full "hyper-miler" attempt as I have occasionally driven hard and fast in some spots during this commute. My estimate is I will reach 70 mpg easily!

I've been looking at getting the C two, and this is the best review yet. You're up front about its downsides- this is not a family car. I am a single young adult with no plans for kids in the near future and very rarely have more than one person in the car. So, this will be fine for me. But, if I should choose to start a family or go on a long trip with a bunch of people, a different car would be better.
I just bought a 2012 Prius and this would be the one for a family, this car is a lot roomier than it looks. I'm enjoying the features and driveability more and more as I go along

Great review Greg! I'd be all over the Prius C if it had 4-wheel disc bakes (had bad experiences with drums and brake fade in the past) Otherwise it offers everything I'd really need in a car at the moment.
Pretty much. It also depends if you're talking high speed highway driving or not. The Prius C may have a bit of a hard time in the aggressive highway driving that usually take place outside of most large cities. Otherwise, I'd say go for it!

I bought the Prius C today and Driving is Now FUN!! It teaches you how to drive to get the most mpg during your cruise. Driving in City streets and backroads can be done most entirely off the electric motor. I can tell you I drove for miles on freeway, city streets and I can almost swear I used 1/2 cup of gasoline to do all that driving! While other cars are sitting there at a red light wasting gas, my Prius C sits there quietly using NO GAS! The dash lets you know when you are an Electric car.
Because it's smooth and gearless, people think it's sluggish, but it actually has an acceleration that's better than a Fiesta. Plus the 2 induction motors/generators and a planetary gearbox significantly reduces the number of moving parts. Inverters are solid state so they practically last longer than the car itself, and the belt-less engine accessories makes this a half solid state car. Battery last 300,000 miles and still retain 80% charge, and only cost $2,300 to replace.
