- How to replace ocupant sensor in 2010 -2012 Camero. Dealer wanted 700 to replace. I purchased the part for 200 on ebay but it was a used one. New are around 300 but I think I seen one for 275 on the net you can google it. Please leave a comment if this helps :) A thumbs up would be nice too.

I am having this issue now, I just dropped off my car {2011 Camaro Rs} at the dealership today morning, they told me it's the PASSENGER PRESENCE SENSOR and $820 to fix it! Wow! searched it up and saw this video. They're planning to work on it tomorrow which now I will be canceling. Now I just need to purchase a sensor and few tools. Hope I can do this. Thank you Mike!

I bought a seat from a junkyard. Cost $80 bucks. The dealer wanted over $400 and everything I was seeing online cost around $300. Great video Mike. I know you saved me a ton of time, thanks.
I own 2010 same problem went to the dealer he checked the factory if it's reported as product failure but nothing come up and I ran out of warranty so they asked for 800$. Thanks u saved me money and I'm disappointed with Chevy now.

Thank you for taking time to do the tutorial. I have had similar issue with 2010 and now will tackle the repair myself. Seems easy enough. I have not gone to the dealer but as read below I figure it can't be much of a difference. I will post again when repaired to let you know how it went Michael. Awesome.

Do remember what the dtc code your was giving you? I bought a pair front seats out of a wrecked ZL1 and now I'm getting a B0020-04. Which it says B0020 04: Passenger Instrument Panel Air Bag Deployment Loop Stage 2 Open.

Thanks for the tutorial. My 2011 Camaro passenger sensor has probably gone bad after 12 years and 145k. The airbag icon intermittently goes off when there’s a passenger in the seat. It’s irritating.
Thank you for making this video. I was scared to unscrew my seat for this problem but now I know to check for a crease 1st then I'll do the sensor. Thanks again

Good day. Did this issue affect the female buckle receptacle? I'm getting the same message but with the seatbelt not working. I replaced the receptacle but no change.

Thanks for the video! My son just purchased a used 2011 Camaro and the air bag light came on and passenger air bag off, I googled and found your video. Hoping I can save my son some money by fixing himself! :) We will see!

Hello, i have the same problem with my camaro 2010,my code of error on tester is" U0170 Lost Communication with passenger Presence Detection Sensor Module-Intermittent" and the 2nd one is "B101D Hardware control unit-Permanent, please help me with a solution.
I did this fix so many years ago. I don’t recall the code but had the dealer tell me that was the solution before I began. Sorry not more help.
I just bought this Camaro from Canada 5 days ago and he arrived with this error on board, i will go to dealer here in town next week, because they have more professional testers, i am from Romania, in Europe if you know this country, sorry for my english. My mechanic tell me that the problem is from airbag control module,and i take out today, but i don't think that is from it.This car haven 't been an accident, is like new one.

Sorry for the slow reply... I would imagin it would. To limit the risk I would pull the seat and see if there was a pinch like mine on the sensor. Good luck!
Mike, airbag light just popped up randomly (intermittently) today on my 2010, just bought it too! I am relieved there is a fix. Gonna get the part / tools and figure it out. Thank you!!

my passenger air bag light shows on but when i turn the car the service airbag light shows up...could it be that its the drivers airbag sensor that is not working?? hope you can help me out..thnx
Yes, I had to replace my driver side and paid 988.00 at the dealer and now my passenger side is out!!!! Thanks to this video my husband is going to repair it and save us a ton!!!!
Mike, did you have to use anything to remove the code or codes that popped up?
I read that it throws a code when this happens. And that you need a scan tool to reset it after repairs
blue67strm no it did not throw a code. The error code when away once I replaced the pad on the seat. Good luck

Thanks for the tutorial. Exact same problem just occurred on my Camaro, My son's a big dude and during the last few months we've had to keep the seat pushed all the way back on a regular basis, so it sounds like the diagnosis may be correct with the crease created. Excellent step-by-step....Now I just have to purchase the part!!!

Jesus Garduno the light in mine was passenger. So it was the passenger seat. I would not assume they have a sensor on the drivers side since you should not be a child driving. Hope that helps.

Mike John Mine has the same brown with that same picture in your dashboard and I was wondering how did you take it off does the reset once you put the airbag
The devil 1994 the airbag fuse has nothing to do with resetting the light. That is just so the airbag does not go off when your working on the seat as shown in the video.
