One thing my therapist says that's helps a lot of people is to first count five things you can see. Then count four things you can hear. Then three things you can feel. Then two things you can smell. Then one thing you can taste. This hasn't worked for me, but I know a lot of people who use this technique. Hope it helps some of you 😊 also thank you for the video, it worked for me really well!

because your body adapts and because of the muscle memory achieved due to poor posture over the year your brain recognizes the "default" poor posture but your muscles are actually overcompensating. try to breath in with the tongue up , exhale with the tong down but through the lower part of your lungs cause that's where the distress receptors are ....

I have been searching some one like you through out of my life... almost 15 years ago I fell in to my own mind trap...and yoga and breathing technique no more help for me to reduce anxiety...rather it gave me more severe anxiety response that I can't even reduce by talking to my mind...it take away many happiness and achievement of my life...I couldn't get good help from pshychiatrist and I have been suffering since then..normal breathing and posture I couldn't restore...

This is a really good tip. I remember hearing about this when I was at a mental hospital when I had panic anxiety. But that guy didn't give me an instruction on how to breath, he just told me ''Breath like a triangle''....and walked away. So I ended up getting even more anxious cause what he said made no sense. So thx for explaining ! xD

This really helped me a lot, I have a lot of stress built up today cause I have a university coursework deadline slowly approaching and I've got quite a bit of work to do for that but I suddenly came down with the flu yesterday and I slept in a lot today when I wanted to get up and do a full day of work.
So I'm having to accept that I should just not stress about university work and have today off to get better and clear my mind so I can focus tomorrow.

I love this triangle breathing idea!
I'm also dealing with depression and anxiety and I had an attack just yesterday on the way to my therapists office lol
    How ironic?
But I did take a klonopin which has been prescribed to me for my attacks. It just took forever to kick in and panic or anxiety attacks while driving are very dangerous. But I made it safe and sound and with the help of my therapist and the when the meds finally kicked in, I was good to go :)
Thanks for sharing these tips and tricks!

    it works)
and there is another thing that i know(some of you probably know that too). you take a breath with one nose hole, and imagine beam of light (it can be full of positive energy, or whatever you want it to be) that comes in, and then wait for a few seconds, i think 1-3 is ok, and breath out from another nose hole a darkest smoke ever with all the shit. and do it untill you will want to stop. lets say 5 mins, but there is no limits. and that some how calms you'r mind as well. and english is not my main language, so there can be mistakes, but i hope you get it. cheers)

Hey I need some help I guess. I have depression and anxiety and i have gone to a therapist for anxiety and my "friends" try to help but nothing works. I feel worthless and like I shouldn't be here. My family hates that I feel this way telling me to just "get better". I really don't know where else to go for help. Sorry.

Stu Tube Don't feel bad, just know there are others like you out there. You're not alone, thanks for being honest. Your comment actually made me feel better because I have the same problem. I suffer from depression and anxiety and I've been going to counseling for over 2 years now. I know it feels like nothing works sometimes and your ''friends'' and family don't really seem to care but trust me. I care, even if I don't know you I care that you are going through the same issue.
      Don't be afraid my friend.

My teacher/therapist taught me a similar breathing exercise. Alleviates the anxiety a bit. But I still can't get myself to focus my mind on one thing. And the triangle is a problem for me because I have this phobia sort of thing that makes it difficult for me to look at pointy/sharp objects etc. Always had it, but recently it's gotten much worse. It sort of makes me hyperventilate.
Would really appreciate any advice offered. Thanks!

To all the people who think tonight is the night. Who are thinking of picking up the blade again. Who aren't eating. Who are bending over a toilet. Please try not to. I know it can be hard not to but please don't... not for me, but for you. Because you are worth so much more. I wish I could hug you and comfort you right now but I can't. But know that someone cares and that someone wants the absolute best for you. Remember: you are not fat or ugly or worthless babe and you will be missed. No matter how terrible you think you are, youre incredible. I believe in you and I am so proud of you and the smallest and biggest things you accomplish. even if it's one day without cutting or throwing up. I am happy For you when u smile and laugh and I care for you when you are sad and down. I might not know you but my heart pours for you and people going through things like you. we all have horrible Times and your not worse than anyone else for finding yourself falling apart. I hope this helps you. Stay strong. you'll be so proud of yourself. Sending love your way :)

alright dude. I started having chest pains at work. started an anxiety attack. came into the bathroom. looked up "breathing for anxiety" and your video was first up, so I clicked. the triangle breathing DID help me, however the dog barking and opening the door really screwed me up, I lost train of thought and I was about to exit the video but you got right back into it, luckily. it did/does help but you should do an uninterrupted version of the video. cause I was already losing it, like full blown anxiety.... and the dog thing just killed it for me and it almost came back because I stopped focusing on breathing. sorry I'm not being mean!

So this has been annoying thing for me along time, i have this where i think of my breath wich makes me feel like i dont get enough oxygen, but when i dont think about it everything is fine. i cant even train anymore because i think of it all the time.

    • @android9443
      @android9443 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I face a similar problem! The more anxious I am the more aware of my breathing I am, and not really in a good way. Never found anyone else who does too. When I'm not anxious I don't think of my breathing and it jst happens automatically & I'm fine (but often I feel like I'm lacking oxygen because I'm just consciously controlling my breath all the time).
One thing that i've found helpful is if u google 'this gif can stop your anxiety', I find breathing along to that gif really helpful, cos then ur still aware of your breathing but more in a good way

    • @rrosen85

android9443 I will look into this because honestly the last couple of weeks I think about my breathing from where I wake up til when I fall asleep and it's annoying because that's a I'm focused on especially when I drive which sometimes results in a panic attack.

I’m so glad to see that someone else is suffering from this as well. I’ve recently become so conscious of my breathing and it’s so frustrating. Constantly thinking about it and feeling like I can’t take a deep enough breath sends me into a panic

Amazing. I think advanced user can even change the length of the sides :) Also, holding the breath is important for advanced techniques. We can create a quadrilateral with one edge for holding breath.

I really liked the whole triangle technique. It’s one I’ve never heard of and decided to give it a try and low and behold it actually works. But the whole dog barking at that one crucial moment set my anxiety through the roof. I was doing some majorly huge triangles. LMAO
