- My good buddy Larry (AKA Big Dog) has not been feeling great. Due to dwindle club members I selfishly need him to fly youngbirds. He has agreed to let me help him prepare 34 birds to race as his 2024 young bird race team. Follow along as I prepare these 34 pigeons for the races that start in August. Some of these birds are from breeders from all over the country. Many have been lost, but the following birds are still in the loft:
PINE 418
UNITED 24428
MAYDIS 132
VITA KING 401
FIRE 5
OTC 411
NASH 2808
OGN 7702

Not only are you a professional loft manager, you’re a gentleman and a true bird lover. Good job Tom!
Tom you’re a scholar and a gentleman!! Larry is lucky to have a great friend like you. I can’t wait to see you kicking your own Butt with Larry’s birds! Thanks for sharing
Not only are you a great pigeon man you’re a great person
Thanks for watching and the compliments. A bunch of reasons to do this, one for Larry, he is a good friend. Another main one, guys sent good birds, I want to see them raced. The biggest reason is maybe a little selfish, I need another loft flying young birds in the club. I won’t get into much here but dwindling numbers are putting a kink in club and combine racing. Especially in areas that our more rural. Thanks again for watching 👍
Good show Tom! Best wishes to Larry. We are all pulling for his recovery
Thanks! I will relay the well wishes to Larry
You’re a good man. It may be Larrys last opportunity to see em come home from races and I know it’s a ton of work to give Larry that opportunity. Bravo 👏
Thanks Jason, I am also a little
selfish… when it comes down to paying upfront we might need Big Dog’s Loft in order to satisfy the two loft minimum. The club is dwindling with a few guys on the fence. I hope I can get this done as his loft manager and not a posthumous tribute to Larry 🤞
@@littleloftonthehill Aw man, hopefully that’s not the case. We flew our club founders last birds he ever raised last year and feels like we may lose our club secretary this year.
Amazing Thomas. You are truly a really good guy and friend to Larry. Tell him I’m expecting him to win some races. He’s a tough old bird ( man ).
Good of you to do this for him. RIP 29152.
Let me know what you need I’m here most days
Where are you right now? 😘
You are very kind, I see there are a lot of work between the 2 lofts, lot of time back and forth…you are a true gentleman. 👍 take care.
Class is in session again. They did well. Thanks Teach!
They are coming along pretty good 👍 Thanks for watching.
Well done Tom. Gentlemen
RIP 🪦 FAY 24255. Get well son Larry ❤️🩹
Yep, I think he has lost about 20 birds 😢
Thank you thank you.
😎cool
Tom make a small door , floor level set your crates up outside on a shelf and run the birds in after a few times they will run right in i can pack a hundred birds in less then 5 minutes. I maid mine on front of loft and i let birds out right threw a crate . Good job help a friend in need.
Great idea! He has the crates with pull outs on both ends. It would work great 👍
Love to see you doing this, and cool to see your work in a new locale! I think some people would have a heart attack if they saw how many wires I have around my house and loft. The birds can handle it for sure!
Thanks Adam, It should be fun… unfortunately my buddy is not doing well and most likely not going to last long enough to see the birds race
@@littleloftonthehill very sorry to hear that! I’m glad you’re getting the birds in the air for him, hope he’s well enough to enjoy watching them fly at least a bit. Such a nice thing you’re doing and inspiring me to be looking out for the older guys in my club. Wishing for comfort and rest for Larry.
Appreciate the videos hope everything gets better with him 🙏🏼
Thanks for watching, I will pass the well wishes on to Larry 👍
Nice gigg! It may not be paid monetarily be in other ways much more rewarding no doubt. It will be fu. Best of luck
Thanks!
Very nice. I wish you was closer so I can hire you as well.
Maybe one day!
Pulling flights and vaccinating while watching let's see what's going on at Larry's
A couple things in my todo list👍 I hope it went well 😎
You are a great guy to help him out. I am helping a newer guy in my club too. Because he only did one race and loses almost all his birds except one or 2. I want to see him finish his full year of racing season in young birds
Good for you Jack. We need more new guys👍
@@littleloftonthehill yes we do. Or the sport will die off
Awesome job, you are good man! I’m sure those birds will do great under your care and guidance!
I hope so!
Any way to quite them kids across the street at Penryn elementary school. Lol
😂🤣Their lunch and my lunch are the same time. One week left of school 😉
Hello, you have family in Brazil I am from Brazil
My oldest daughter lived in Manaus, my son lives in São Paulo. Both as missionaries. We love Brazil 🇧🇷
I wouldn’t of used to stick to get them in at all, I would of left them figure out themselves as they will do, they won’t get used to the stick
You would be surprised what they will get used to. Look at the video around 22:06, behind me in the back left corner, Larry using pool cues to move the birds around. He has one in every loft. I have seen tennis rackets and pool skimming nets used as well. You are right, it would be better to let them figure it out, normally I would, time crunch and was not able to wait them out.
Unfortunately it’s time for him to get out of birds completely. Does not have the will want or physical to treat them fairly. He can just visit you on a weekly basis and hang out by your place
😕
Your knot ‘click baiting’ Thom… looks more like a recovery mission…
I’ve tried to run, 2 lofts, only a mile apart… and it’s extremely challenging.. IMO… you just can be as attentive, as u would want to be…
The very best of luck my friend..🙏🙏🕊️
Big thanks, luckily Larry is still able to contribute his eyes to the project. He keeps pretty good eye on things. He is out there everyday, He just has a hard time with the physical work, mostly catching the birds, moving crates.
Well done Tom!! your dedication and hard work in helping Larry with his pigeons while he’s sick is truly inspiring. Training and managing a loft is no small feat, and I deeply respect your commitment and responsibility. Well done! 🫡
Thanks 👍
