233 Mile Race, 40+ second victory laps, your welcome Jim 😂
Birds don’t start until 2:25 into the video. Another tough slow 233 mile race. Over all we did do good. I believe we have second place in the combine. We did drop two birds…

Combine win with 5 on the drop or was it 4?

This is the fourth race of the 2024 Young Bird Series. We had a really good day in both lofts. Unfortunately, the birds came before I watched for them, and I missed clocking a bird that should have been on the drop. It looks like we won the combine with the first four spots. The next three went to Larry’s Loft. After missing the previous two weeks, I'm happy with the results. Follow along. We h...

Great job SHUNN Tate Boyz Loft 💪
So close to a win. Maybe this weekend 😁. Good results for a tough race nonetheless
Congratulations FireBird and James 🎉
Thank you!! ☺️
Thanks! 👍🏻
What a tough race glad most of the birds made it back. congratulations to Firebird and Robertson. Muddy feet that’s a good name for a bird.
Thanks Dennis! Muddy Feet is a good name indeed ☺️ I like the way you think
Thanks Dennis 🙏🏻
Thanks for the update, Tom! You prepared the birds really well. Crazy they stopped for water. I always wonder how that plays out. How far off track does it take them? At what point do they switch from navigating to home to locating and navigating to water?? This would be one of those times when having a gps ring on them would be fascinating.
If pigeons could talk 😉
Tough race for sure.
Yeah, it was a tough weekend for racing it seems. They did alright though.. And yes, you really needed to be heading towards the loft and calling that bird down to land when he was first spotted coming in. Three laps circling around the loft was the difference between 1st and 2nd place.
With last year's team I would 100% agree with you, this year's team, not so much. It is really up to what the birds are familiar with. Unfortunately these guys are not used to me being there when they trap in. The time split between both lofts has caused me to not spend as much time with these guys as I would have liked. 80% of the time they trap in, I am nowhere near the loft. Thank goodness for electronic timing or I would not be able to race.
@@littleloftonthehill .. K Gotcha
Congratulations 👏🏼 guys and thanks for the video tom 🙏🏼🤞🏼🏆🧬👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for watching!
What? Who’s home
“Lulu” Lol
🤣😂
We dropped two 😢, Parker Dixon and Red from AdrianP 🪦
Congrats Firebird Loft & Tom.
Thanks Cavender, congrats Tom. Maybe new driver forgot watering the birds?!..
Thanks!
He put water in front of them, it was 38 degrees at release, with it that cold they just didn’t drink. I need to do better the night before make sure they drink
Read Steven van Bremen "The Art of Breeding" (racing pigeons) to get more knowledge and insights.
You’re birds need to stand on the pad clock longer to get them to into the clock. I like the metal stall traps it slows them down from jumping into the loft.
Thanks Rich for the tip, I do miss a bird once in a while, we had five on the drop last race, I would have had the first five places in the combine. I only had four because of the issue you mentioned. I need to quit being lazy and make the change 👍
@@littleloftonthehill Yeah I know what you mean I’ve got to get out to my breeding loft’s and put up new wire. I’ve got a problem with rats here, having a neighbor with a hoarding issue, it’s a pain in the back. I’ve been putting out the poison ☠️ just one bite and they eat like candy crazy I’m in Pahrump Nevada that’s 50 miles west of Vegas, it’s a bedroom community. My daughter wants me to start my white dove release business back up, if I do I’m going to need some really good white homer’s, I sold all my other whites . I had the Roger Mortvedt's white racer’s they were great. Any great videos keep up the good work.
@@RichBarschdorf thanks for watching, good luck in the races 👍

Good luck 🤞🏼🙏🏼🍀
You got one in the race?
@@NewBeginningKennelLoft I wish bro I really do but next year I will for sure I didn't get pigeons until March 23 on my birthday they were a gift from me and my wife so I didn't have time to get any ready to send but Def sending some out this coming season 🤞🏼🙏🏼
Nice
Thanks
ماشاءالله
Thank you
Do they stay together during their trip home ?
These birds were from three lofts, we each live within about four miles of each other. I am on the other side of a hill from the other two. The birds usually come home in small groups. Some end up following one of the other lofts birds then circle back to my loft. From this 80 mile toss first birds came in 9:18 last one came in at 9:39. They were released at 7:25. A little more than two hours to fly 80 miles 👍
@@littleloftonthehill this is so amazing Thankyou for answering!
That is amazing.
And they just all fly home? Wow.
Used to race pigeons with James Higgins. He had a club here in Gaffney South Carolina used to turn loose all the time for them. My child always love watching them fly. James passed away little over a year ago and his wife sold out all of his pigeons he had about 75.
Many of the old timers are passing away. Two from my club this year 😢. My channel I show how you can race with just a small 4x8 loft. It is a lot of work but I enjoy it.
I've known few pigeon raisers...
It is something I really enjoy
I have about 100 white racing homers that are always flying around my home and it never gets old watching them.
Loft flying around the house is one of my favorite things. I can’t imagine what it would be like with 100 all white pigeons 👍🕊️
@@littleloftonthehill You live in BEAUTIFUL country, what state I'm jealous......
@@joanlovelace7338 I am in the California foothills close to Sacramento
@@littleloftonthehill STUNNING 😍 🫡👍
Whats the reason for this
Pigeon races. They take them far from home and release them to see who makes it home first.
Like people training for a marathon start off with a short distance and get further and further. Getting the ready for races.
Totally cool Don’t stop at In-n-out or they’ll beat you Homs. Beautiful day
Luckily all the timing and trapping is electronic, I set it up before I leave with them. They frequently beat me home and I get a text message when each pigeon arrives home 👍
And I love In n Out
I didn’t know homing was still a thing!! That’s awesome!!! My grandpa used to have a few sets we’d clock for practice once or twice a month.
Some areas pigeon racing is growing, my area not so much.
That is so cool. It was so long ago when we did it it was printed on a little scroll type paper and you turned that in.
@@aaronrex2531so much easier now with text messages when each bird arrives home. All automatic👍 if it was not like that I could not race with work and sports on the Saturdays with my kids. I frequently miss them coming home but have food and water waiting for them. I end up watching the race unfold on my phone.
hello, tell me what you can give pigeons for appetite
Mine like peanuts, raw shelled peanuts
nice 👍
Glad you liked it. It works great 👍
No music please that very Stupid!!
Have to turn the volume down on the video before that song gets stuck in my head 😅
🤣😂🤣 sorry
Do it for RIP FRILLIO
💪 I will remind them prior to basketing

Beautiful setting and release!
Beautiful area 😮
How do u get them back
Wondered the same thing. I figured since he was talking about further distance that there was maybe a specific spot that they knew to fly back to.
I race them, they fly back to their home 80 miles away. About 45 miles per hour. The race has one starting point, these pigeons fly back to their four different homes. The winning pigeon is the one that flys the fastest.
The race series last 8 weeks, every Saturday if the weather is good, they get progressively further each weekend from 90 miles to 300 miles.
@@littleloftonthehill do you know of any videos on this sport ,
Looks amazeing there Tom. They getting up higher now good job m8t.🎉
