    I rooted for Paddy durring his incredible run of 3 majors in 2 years. I still remember the fairway wood he hit that clinched his second British Open like it was yesterday. It just rolled and rolled until it settled right next to the hole. The PGA showdown with Sergio was also great.
    I assumed at the time that those wins would he his biggest impact on golf. But now hes helping hundreds of thousands of players play better with these videos.
    What a gracious champion and teacher.

    Always reliable and helpful for me. Stuff you learn nowhere else.
    I saw Paddy do a long interview on another channel and he spoke of the wonderful courses close to Dublin.
    I talked my wife into going there for a month in April.
    Does she really think i want to hang out at Trinity or drink Guiness? Hahaha.

    Great to see such a top player making the effort to pass on his knowledge to help others. Would like to see him smacking one down the line of the picket fence at the end though!

    Alignment is one of the most important fundamentals in golf, yet very much overlooked by many. Thanks.

    Thank you for giving us amateurs these tips. They may seem simple but they really help. One of my many faults is my alignment. Keep doing what you're doing. I appreciate you taking the time.

    Thank you for this video! I’ve always felt like tee boxes really impact the outcome of my shots and am glad to hear you talk about it!
    I’d love the “on course alignment” topic to expand to cover wind direction, doglegs, tree lines misaligned with the shot, etc both from the tee box and fairways. So many nuances!
    Alignment is such a big deal. Thanks for focusing on it!

    Thank you for taking the time to give free advice to amateurs, you're a star. Despite years of trying I just cannot seem to overcome 'Casting' the club and 'Hitting/Flipping' through the ball- any advice to control casting would be much appreciated.

    Man so simple but what a tip! Put the alignment stick behind your feet, then step back. Im going to do this on every shot on the range now. At least until its muscle memory and i get used to a perfect alignment. Thanks again Padraig you are the man!

    Great tips, Paddy. Another thing I would add is: When walking up or driving up to a tee box, before you even get out of the cart look at the slope of it. They all vary, but just as an example, if the ball is substantially above your feet on the box...well that also comes into play with what happens to it.

  • @psegre
    @psegre 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wow, this is great. He’s absolutely right about how the tee box can affect your alignment. No one talks about this, but I’ve always struggled with aiming correctly when the tee box goes off in a direction not exactly down the middle of the fairway. It amazes me that pros don’t seem affected by this at all. And you can’t practice this on the wide open range.

    I have a nemesis hole just like you mentioned. It’s so bad I can’t even get comfortable on the tee box. It feels like pure luck if I get one in the fairway. Thanks for the vid and looking forward to trying these tips!

    I always enjoy listening to Paddy. So I guess if I want to practice alternating draws and fades on the range, I should go back and forth from one end of the range to the other. 😅. Just joking. Thanks for the video, Paddy.

    Hi Paddy, love your generosity. You really are bridging a gap from even the vest "students" who still can't cross over that elusive gap. I line up to a spot in front which seems to work well but gets you unsettled. Id like to try what goes through your process in addressing the ball after youve chosen your club and seen your shot. If you dont choose a spot what are you lining up to say in the fairway or even sub 125 shots? I know you may not read this but you are very appreciated with your intentions and veracity

    • @ram0666
      @ram0666 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Start out by making sure your grooves are as clean as possible. Also you must play a tour level ball, anything less will hold you back. The lie from where you play the shot must be tight.Hitting shots from the rough because of the length of the grass will not allow you to spin the ball. To get spin there must be no grass in between the club and the ball at impact. Even if your in the fairway the grass may be not cut tight enough for the spin your looking to create. You need to be able to compress the ball properly before anything.All of these must be managed before any technique..

    It’s like you have been playing with me for the last 2days, I was lined up to hit the ball right, so I thought and pulled it into the trees on the left. Because I was on the left side of the box. I have always noticed that the tee boxes are lined up to get you in trouble, but I have just tried to stay focused on my shot to keep me out of trouble, that has always been a hit or miss situation. I will try your tips, I appreciate you, keep up the great work and thanks 😊

    Paddy when you talk about setting up on tee boxes aimed right or left, is the advice the opposite for left-handed golfers? I'm confused. Thanks

    He just gave me flash backs of the slowest golfer I have ever played with. She used to pick up her club and line up her hips, then put it vertical on her chest to check that she had a straight back and finally, she genuinely talked about the angle of her club shaft before each. and. every. shot. First and last time I played in her group.

    Lots of people might not know you can tee up two club-lengths behind the markers, it doesn't need to be up near the line. Great help when you're between clubs on a par 3, or the high-traffic zone at the front is all shredded and lumpy. I've also started doing this when the tee markers are angled weird and it doesn't suit my eye.
    Also, don't be like my uncle and tee it up over the line. You gain nothing but silent mockery from your playing mates. I give him a pass because they screwed his head on crooked at the factory or something.

    I stand behind the ball and identify a spot on the ground 3-4 ft behind the ball ...spot has to be on a
    Line thru the ball to target. I then address the ball keeping my feet parallel to the line between the ball and the identified spot. Others find a spot ahead of the ball ... But imho it's harder to ensure your feet are parallel to the line between the ball and the spot ahead. Anyone else using my method? PS... Great tip to get someone to eyeball your alignment. I always cringe when folks mess with their swing when it was a simple alignment issue 😅
