Hey Paddy, I was pretty impressed watching you play that shot off your knees from under the bush😊, you are always fun to watch. You make the game look easy. I’m always pulling for you to win, stay healthy so you can play a long time.

Thanks for covering this subject Paddy. I have tennis elbow from hitting off the mat and cannot play for 4 months. In the first month I could not figure out what happened and still kept doing. So pay attention to injury from the very beginning and adapt our exercise not to worsen it.

Absolutely dead solid perfect advice from our champion in this video:
See an injury specialist as soon as you can.
Try to identify and avoid the repetitive moves creating the injury
    Dont hit off mats.
As far as stretching ones self pre shot, i like a left handed practice swing, full but half speed. It loosens up the back and helps the rhythm.

As usual some gold in there from Paddy. I've heard or seen a pro talking about playing with an injury, some really good advice

Saw your post on Twitter and ran right over. Lower back pain here and I’ve been working all winter to strengthen my core to avoid injury. Will certainly try your tip to ‘walk with it’. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

I saw a physio at the hospital with my slight tear to my rotator cuff. I used those coloured elastic bands and a series of excersizes and i,m 95% fixed. i can send you .pdf images of excersizes if you want.

Hi Paddy. My neck and upper back are ruined from an accident back in 1990. You should see my swing. It doesn't look like a golf swing at all. In the downswing my shaft is vertical. At age 59 my swing is based on timing and timing alone to square the face. I have lessons from young Pros and the number who show me a picture of Sergio at impact and say I need to get like that are not helping!
The hard part for me is finding an old Pro who understands what the body can and cannot do and to teach around that.

Damaged my wrist Wednesday hitting off the mats at the range. Will be out of golf for 2 weeks the doctor said. Well he's not at my 11am tee time tomorrow. :)

Update. Haven’t played golf since this post. Sadly - if have a TFCC tear. Been working on it and the pain is minimal. Having a cortisone shot today as it’s being prescribed 😡😡😡. No damn on Xray so it’s believed to be tendinitis from recovery.

+1 proper physio once injured then sort out an injury prevention program.
I retired 7 yrs ago and hurled myself into my dream of unlimited golf practice and play … Tennis elbow both arms, bone on bone knee ( runners knee) L4 L5 disc bulges and associated nerve neuropathy , rotator cuff….. golf is dangerous… esp if you attack it from a sedentary lifestyle !!!
Happy to report , excellent physio care and injury prevention regime has resulted in virtually pain free play… but beware the golf mat… ☠️

Real lower back pain is when you can’t hit a putt 😢

Yes agree - the shorter the movement the harder it is to control

Agree, my bad back affects me the most in putting. People that don't know real back pains, are always really surprised when I tell them that.

In my 70’s, I don’t have one problem area … I ache all over.
Any problem with “NOT swinging as hard”? 🤷🏼‍♂️
I’ve been fairly athletic my entire life, but these courses are SO LONG 🙄
Most of the guys I play with are retirees, and many can still move it.
How much longer do you think you can swing that hard, Paddy?
    Good stuff 👍🏻
    Keep up the good work
