Can you believe that our species created such a sound? Billions of years of evolution. Billions of years of natural prowess, all leading up to the spectacle that is automobile racing. Imagine having our ancestors from 20,000 years ago experiencing this sensation. They would probably treat the F1 cars like gods.

M RO yeah, I mean they would probably have to change the tank size but just in terms of weight without fuel, it's 605kg vs 710kg so quite a difference and the v10s is that the engineers had to add ballast to get to the min weight with these hybrids they struggle to just meet the min

In my opinion if f1 really wants to progress and have some great cars like this one we should have a 3.5 liter twin turbo 4 rotor mgu-k hybrid system. 1. Great sounds 2. Relatively undiscovered engin system. 3. Lots of power. Rotorys are known for high revs and power. Let's see what freedoms are available through aero and suspension. If we're gonna be the fastest sport on the planet we're gonna do it right
The rotary engine never really benefitted from racing development, unfortunately. Even if it's not "green" right now the work would likely be worthwhile. (And I really don't think F1 is truly green unless the series uses a biofuel.) Though I'd favor a 5 rotor configuration as it would probably sound similar to a V10. But a 3.5 L twin turbo 4 rotor with MGU-K would be overkill in terms of power. Mazda's naturally aspirated 2.6 L 4-rotor (in the 787B) could make 950 HP at 10,500 RPM. With tuning and an increased rev limit 2000 HP would be a cakewalk for such an engine.
Brain&Force what are you talking about a 3.5 liter 4 rotor. it's a modular engine essentially,goes up 675cc per rotor so no matter what a 4 rotor will be a 2.6. a 3 rotor a 2.0l and a 2 rotor a 1.3l.
