Throughout my entire life, I have been self-conscious about my shoe size. This didn’t happen until I was well into high school, and then afterward I moved to New York, which taught me that I wasn’t that tall (thanks New York!) In today’s video, I discuss how to dress, and what to take under consideration to make your feet look smaller than they are. I hope you guys find it useful!

PS. Like I said, beauty standards are horse-shit, and it’s up to you what you decide to do with yourselves. Has anyone else heard of smaller (sticker) size shoes looking small as a whole? Or did I make that up?! For example, the "fake Keds" I always wear are a size 8. Could it be something else at play? What do you think?????

Soooo, I definitely do this all time. That’s crazy! I wear a size 7 but for my height a 7 foot looks big on my small body even though a 7 is not thought of to be a big size. ANYWAY(because I’m rambling), I am a true 7 therefore when a 7 is too big for me I know that the shoe is “running big” if I can get in a 6 1/2. And to my surprise, whenever I do this my feet always look smaller than if I had an actual 7. What I think is happening is more like a factory malfunction that they try to recover from by still labeling the shoe the size that they are supposed to be. It’s almost like the whole lot is made a 1/4 of a size off. So the shoes were really made like a 6 3/4 and 7 1/4 but since we don’t use those numbers for sizing they still put 6 1/2 and 7 on the shoe. It kind of reminds me of how like back in the day, when all(not just some of) the shoes used to come in “wide” sizes too. If my size was too big, I could get a 1/2 side down in wide and they would fit perfectly. I noticed that there is less space around the toe and the sides which makes for a more snug fit around the foot. I’m literally just thinking about this right now buuut.....basically my feet look smaller because the shoes IS smaller💡Duh! It’s the lies that throw us off. But again, if the shoes are made slightly off then of course there is going to be some discrepancies about the size that’s on the shoe and the fit.
This never occurred to me! I wish designers would go back the making wide and narrow sizes!!

5’3” height, size 10, wide feet here. I think we big feet gals are hard on ourselves. Besides a few jerky family members that made us self conscious growing up, most people don’t seem to notice nor care about our feet. It’s nice to know there’s other people out there who understand, though 🤗

I think feet may look longer when you have thin legs because a 9 really is not that big- you are built like a model and a lot of models feet look long- I just assumed it was because they were tall and thin. Girl just embrace your feet😊 they do not take away from any of your gorgeousness ☺️

I wear a 7.5, but I have very thin ankles and calves which make my feet appear larger in proportion. I agree with the flat boot tip 100%, I much prefer a low block heel (2-3 inches), and I will even add a heel insole to provide further lift and comfort. The longer your legs are, the smaller your foot appears in comparison 👍🏻 By that same logic, I also love pointy shoes for the leg-lengthening effect, which is very flattering when wearing similar colored pants/bottoms.

I think the almond toe is the best. A round toe can be sort of childish and lack the professional aspect some may want and a strong pointed toe as you said makes your feet look long. An almond toe is a wonderful balance.

Your feet look completely proportional to your body! Truly. Even the "wrong" shoe choices look totally proportional on you. I'm 5'3 with 8.5 feet and I've always bought shoes a half size too small for me. The big toe area always ends up warping after a lot of wear. I'm in my 30's now and my insecurity has never left me.

My shoe size is 42 or actually more like 43 because 42 is more often than not too small for me. I don`t think my feet are big however! I am 178cm tall so I think they are just proportionate. But. I am frustrated that so few shoes are available in my size.

You're lucky! Kids shoes are cheaper, I was able to get my Adidas SuperStars in kids/boys size though. That is RARE for me

What I recommend is to mostly wear black shoes. Black shoes are less eye catching. So you'll draw less attention to your feet wearing black shoes in comparison to solid white shoes. Also I tend to avoid bulky looking shoes like basketball shoes. I prefer tennis and jogging shoes.

My Daily Sweet do the Gucci ace sneakers run large? I ask because my husband purchased a pair of Gucci sneakers and he got a whole size smaller than what he normally wears. We were on vacation so he was able to try them on. We don’t have a boutique in my city and I was thinking about ordering online. Golden Goose Deluxe brand has a platform in them as well. But they are hella uncomfortable. I had to find a new foam platform on amazon and add some insoles to make them doable. But they still didn’t make my feet look smaller (in GG I wear a 42, everything else is a 41 or 11😳). I don’t really think it’s possible to make my feet look smaller. They’re just huge. I just try to find shoes that don’t make them look any bigger. I will say that Toms jutti flats make my feet look normal, but Tieks make them look huge. Also the sock boots make my feet look enormous. The Chloe Susanna boots were awesome on my feet. I don’t think there is a formula for it it’s just a gut feeling. 🤷♀️ I also have a big space between my big toe and my second toe, so sandals are a problem for me as well. I can’t do thong sandals they expose my weird toes. 😒
I am 5’10” and wear 7.5 to 8 and I am going to reverse all your tips to counteract these pig hooves!!!!!! But I did just get some awesome combat boots from Prada with buckles and all kind of elaborate junk and they are huge and clonky and honestly are probably my most flattering shoes. They are so large and bulky that they balance out my legs better and make me look longer. Loved the video!!! I was always self conscious about being tall and I didn’t want to wear heels but now I love towering over men and looking down at them BEAH HA HA HA

I wear a size 7, but these tips were still very helpful. You’re spot on with the pointed toes. There’s so much unused space in pointed toe shoes that I find myself sizing up a half to whole size depending on the designer. No bueno
I'm pretty observant about people's outfits and appearance, and the size of people's feet is something I literally never notice. I say wear whatever you want in a size that fits and please believe that 99% if people will never look at you and think "My God...look at those boats!!" Lol. Enjoyed the video nonetheless.

I’m 5,4 - wide feet and 6.5uk size. Never was self conscious until someone openly in the office asked how big me feet were, I told her and she said god that’s big - she was the office b*tch but still it made me self conscious ever since.
