Videos with the Manic Mechanic should be a regular thing. Jeff is a frickin genius and super fun to watch.

Jeff should write a book about the ins and outs of wrenching on motorcycles for over 47 years, and then put it out when he decides it wont take any buisness away from himself so that his lifes work can continue into another generation when he is done. I would sure love to read it. Much respect Jeff...A true master level craftsman..

jeff’s not kidding ethanol Eats right into that cast aluminum clogs up any small holes in the jetting ports but interestingly I found that the true fuel ! Brand if you let carburetors set a while with True fuel it seems to breaks up the white powder and seems to start running again I own several free items now because of it

    Nice video. Two things though....it's not an 1100, it's a 1000cc (actually 1047) and it's not a 6 speed transmission as mentioned. 👍

VP Non Ethanol Small Engine 94 Octane rules....I have been using it in my FJ1200 and CB750 for years.I had it in one of the bikes for 15 months (not running) and it fired up like it was started yesterday. Unfortunately it has become very expensive.
Luckily I just moved to NH from the hellhole called Massachusetts and there is a station 3 miles away that sells non ethanol at the pump. You can also try small airports as they generally sell it at a pump. Don't use the high octane leaded aircraft fuel.....the amount of lead in it is to much.

I did a carb job on one of these bikes in 2004. I was proud to have done it, and how well it ran afterwards.

Bombshell dropped at the end....Manic Mechanic heading to The Sunshine State !! OMG. Very classy of Kaplan Cycles to give Jeff a plug for his new venture. Speaks volumes of the relationship these two have and will continue to have. I enjoy this channel and Jeffs contribution to it and he will be missed for sure. Jeff just promise us one thing.....leave any tree work to the arborists down there ok ?
We could have lost you last winter in FL with that bad fall you had. Wishing you well from north of the Canada / USA border....eh.
..Oh and Ken, once Jeff experiences July August and September in FL he might be happy to turn wrenches up at the New England M/C Museum where its not so oppressively hot !!
