I truly believe this.... Right now I chat with 3 exes simultaneously (2 of 8 years and 1 of 4 yrs relationship)....If u study what and how they write and react... There's zero logic, more like: They always try to find the best possible answer to be most agreeable and avoid conflict at any cost. Like they are driven solely by emotion, but they babble stuff that seems sensical. They seem to have a high drive to remember certain dates and events (birthdays, weddings, circumstances etc), and they love to connect via such simple ways,... but give them any hardship in a conversation and they'll withdraw - and maybe come back after a while when they've asked other people about their opinion. It's like: Always about feeling good, never getting judged, being complimented all the time etc.
Especially exes seem pretty funny for this imo oO I can look through their whole stuff and literally tell where their interests and influences etc came from, always just adopted from guys they've been with - that's their whole personality somehow. Another funny finding: If they want to initiate a conversation - which they never do by themselves...^^
They search for workarounds: Quotes, dates, mutual friends and places, interests, statuses etc
1 ex mostly uses music for this purpose
Another uses mainly images and photos
A third one uses art
Funny here: If u address this phenomenon it's ALWAYS denied and there's NEVEREVER a connection to u (officially)^^ But if u simply jump on the bandwagon u'll have a start. They always try to stay ambiguous for as long as possible.
Since there's a shitton of social media platforms now u can even see the discrepancies if they give u access. One of my exes initiated by opening a random FB-folder with 5 of her photos of our mutual past - and giving me access to her whole profile.
U can even influence them heavily: They absolutely do want to be supported in any of the things u see positive in them. U think she draws nice? She'll draw more. U think she cooks fine? She'll cook more... and so on and so on
The other way round: If u stop supporting them in the things u said u value them for, they'll feel unsupported and unloved.

Another thing I realised: YOU have to initiate a topic, otherwise it's a taboo. Or u cancel a topic and make it a taboo - this also works. She'll adapt accordingly to ur wishes if she likes u and mirror it.
