- In this video we take you on a highly adventurous hike into Peekaboo and Spooky Slot Canyons. This proved to be our most challenging yet fun hike to date in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.

We just were there, and I only made it with the help of my 25 to 30 year old kids helping. It's great to see your adventures.

Fantastic. Wife and I will be there in just 26 days. I wonder if the water will be gone by then. I've done Peekaboo once before but chickened out on Spooky because I was about 256 lbs. I down to 216 now in the hope I can fit. I guess we will see. Might be 205 by then.

We just watched this video and the angels one. We watch it on our big screen TV. We were both dizzy and discombobulated coming up the stairs. 😂🤣😂 You are both so brave and adventurous. So beautiful. Thanks for all these videos. Love watching them.

Wow…that looked like quite an adventure! You both are amazing as that looked quite challenging with no hand holds going up and down those rocks and You make it look so easy. So nice you got to have Ben along. I was wondering about the snakes as well as scorpions as they love those type of places.
There were a few areas that were on the sketchy side of things but overall such a fun adventure. Thankfully we had no snake or scorpion encounters. As always, thanks for watching 👍.

Haha thanks! We had sooo much fun and would do it again in a heartbeat. We didn’t even think about snakes and I’m glad we didn’t or it might not have been as enjoyable 🤣. Thanks for watching and the kind comment 😊.

We do love our adventures. We know our bodies won’t allow for this type of hike later in life so we’re getting after it while we can. You could go the opposite direction but that’s not the recommended route. It would definitely create some jams in the narrow sections of the canyon. Happy trails!
@eDrifters You are doing quite well. As a 73 year old, I assure you it is possible to keep going well into your senior years. I think the secret is to remain active as long as your health allows. Stopping when you can Go is the beginning of getting old. Although Peek A Boo Slot Canyon looks WONDERFUL, I am not up for the challenge primarily because I am going to be hiking alone, and entering the slot is going to be difficult for me since I am only 5'5".

Is there a trail hiking back or you have to back from the slot again?
From the trailhead we walked about 2 miles to the entrance of Peekaboo Canyon. Once we completed Peekaboo we came out of the canyon and crossed over to enter into Spooky Canyon. We did not backtrack through Peekaboo. When you finish Spooky you’ll head towards the Peekaboo entrance and return on the same 2 mile trail back to the trailhead. There’s another canyon there that you can do called Dry Fork but we didn’t have time for it. If you go to the AllTrails app and search for the hike you’ll visually see what I’m talking about. Best wishes if you ever head that way. There are some amazing hikes near Escalante that we have posted on TH-cam. Thanks for watching!
