      Hey, I'll have to think about it. I do have the door harness for the electric windows/locks. But I do really like the manual locks and roll up windows, which is why I didn't swap them when I had the doors apart for the dynamat and the sound system. Less electronics to mess with, or malfunction. But I'm not sure, I might change my mind and swap it

    Man that’s exactly how all those trucks should’ve come from the factory - just grabbed a 1999 z71 to play around with and the center console is in the top 5 thing to get done first

      Thats awesome, good for you 🤘 yea, I love the center console with bucket seats. Since this video I've swapped out to corbeau FX1 seats, with 6 point harnesses and a cage haha. Still have the center console though. Good luck with your Z71 👌

    Awesome video man ! I’m working on this same center console project in my 04. I love my vinyl floor vs carpet. It’s so much easier to keep clean and it shines up nice 👍. Mine is all manual seats , windows , locks , mirrors. I prefer manual because there’s no motors and actuators to fail.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you liked it! I definitely agree with you, manual everything is so much simpler. Its kinda funny, im actually switching from the vinyl to some nice thick carpet. My roll cage makes the floor vibrate like crazy. So im going with some dynomat, then dynoliner, and thick carpet to help counteract it. Thanks for the support!

    Working on this swap on my 05 W/T currently. Don't forget to swap the airbag module on the bottom of your seats from old to new to avoid the airbag light. Also, if you grab a console that doesn't go all the way to the dash you don't have to mess with the 4x4 shifter, although you give up a bit of storage.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea... i totally didn't swap over the airbag module. My airbag light was on before the swap, so I have to figure that out still. Im pretty sure the shorter two piece consoles are from the 99-02 trucks. Thats definitely a good alternative option though. I prefer the console mating up to the dash. Thanks for the info. Let me know how uour swap goes! 🤘

      @@TheKingCoopa Small part bolted to the seat frame, the one that came in the truck should stay in the truck. Pull the airbag code, I had one of my front impact sensors fail causing a light years ago. Also, love the dynomat, thinking of doing that when I pull this off in mine.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bad part is I already sold the seats, to recover some of my money.... what a rookie... also I have a large cam, no cats, full 3in exhaust with side pipes. So it was stupid abnoxiously loud. Most of the exhaust sound came through the back of the cab. But doing the dynomat, and then the lvl2 dynomat foam on the back of the cab. Helped out tremendously!!! Dynomat is really expensive, but for me it was so worth it. I can actually hear myself think while I drive 😆😆

    First of all, great video man! It was relatively short and gets right to the point, without incorporating all the extra nonsense that a lot of other videos do. So im doing this same swap right now in a 2005 GMC 2500hd SLE 4x4 that I just picked up. The truck only has 100k on it, so I decided to do a full resto. The only problem I'm having is how to get the heated mat in the seats to be functional without having the harness out of the donor truck. Any ideas? Again great video and nice pickup!

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, im not the best with wiring. But when I picked my seats up, I tried to do some research on how to hook them up. There is so much junk inside those seats for the heated function, it was making my brain hurt lol. So I said screw it, and didn't worry about the heated function. (Since then I have already sold these seats and went to a set of corebeau FX1 pro seats with 6 point harnesses)
      From the research I've done the two best methods were to either use the full donor harness. Or to buy an aftermarket seat heater kit. Where you can put the heating pads under the leather, the module will go under the seat and requires a ground and power wire. Then you just need to wire up a switch the heated function. Sorry im not much help there, those heated seats were blowing my mind 😅 Thanks for the support though!!

    Love the way it turned out... when I was looking for a center console for my truck all they yards wanted to charge me about 500 for the just console and I ended up finding one off of Facebook and did an even trade for my jump seat.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, that's crazy! I've seen some consoles forsale online for around 200-300. I do have a good hookup at my local yard though, talked with the manager for like 20min, showed him my trucks and stuff. I can text him whenever to find an engine for my project car, and he said I'd get free tires as long as I brought it in and do some burnouts 😆😆 so maybe that helped too. But it's a good thing you did the straight up trade!

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I tried looking for a donor truck for a while, but all the single cabs in my area were always manual windows. So I gave up. And I didn't want to try and hack up an extended cab or crew cab harness. There are a few companies that make after market kits, but they arnt as nice as oem. Its definitely possible, people do power swaps all the time.
      As for the climate controls change, ive herd a few people do it, but its pretty rare and super difficult. I herd you have to change out the whole dash harness, along with the bcm to control it. Most people say its not possible, or worth the effort. Hope that helps, good luck!!

      Same width, it will swap over. Basicly any 99-06 gmt800 the front row is the same mounting points and can swap over. I swapped avalanche seats (the dimond stitch pattern) into my flatbed single cab 3500, with the fold down jump seat. Hardest part is just getting the colors matching. 99-02 have a darker blue/grey cloth/leather. 03-06 have the light grey cloth/leather.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, for the seats to work you only need the power and ground hooked up. All 10 way motors will function. The grounds will go to the factory stud under the passanger seat. The power can go into the driver side fuse box, on the side of the dash. Sorry about not showing the power wire hookup. I either forgot to film it, or messed something up, but it wasn't included into the video. I wired the power wire into the 4x4 push button fuse (since mine is a floor shift version) this will apply power to the seats when the key is on. Or you could pick a different fuse if you want power on all the time. I'm saying it like this, because I won't beable to make an additional video for you. The seats have already been sold, removed from the truck, and harness has been stripped down. I swapped to Corebeau FX1 racing seats, with a 6 point harnesses tieing into my roll cage. Sorry, but hope that helps! Thanks for the support 🤘

    I have the same ugly manual cloth seats in my truck bro. If I buy the same seats from my local junkyard how do I power the seats? I seen you ran a red power and ground wire that connected to the clip that connects to the seat but where do you run the other end to? Where does it go to pull power from ? Sorry if its a dumb question but I seriously look up to you nd your vids because everything you done to ur truck is exactly what I want done to mine and I'm not all that good at upgrading like you are.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha its all good man, it takes time 🤘 I know a decent amount, but im still learning every day. And sorry about the power wire, I totally forgot to record that part. So you have a few options. 1. Run it straight to the battery (I wouldn't recommend, just gets in the way if you have to remove the battery and doesn't look nice). 2. Connect it to the orange ACC wire running down your steering column, then it will have power when the key is on. 3. Tie it into the interior fuse box under the dash. Either find a fuse that isn't used often, and plug into that. You can either hard wire it, or use a fuse jumper. I used the 4x4 fuse, since I have a manual floor shifter, and not the electronic shifter. 4. There is a connecting block under the dash, close to the floor, where the seats would factory plug in. But mine being a W/T model the trucj wiring harness didn't have pins for it, so it wouldn't have worked for me. But it might be worth looking at, to see if your connecting block has the pins, then is should be a plug and play, but I doubt it.
      Hope that helps! If it seems like a big challenge, just do the fuse jumper, it will get covered up, looks nice, and you can always remove it easily down the road. Thanks for the support man! Good luck on the swap 🤘 currently tearing down the new 6.0 and already got my quadrasteer bed. So those will be my next videos. 🤘

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rXco_dXnero yea, you could just splice it right into the ACC wire. I would stick to the ACC, fuse box, or battery. I wouldn't just splice it into random nearby power wires. Just because gm designed the harness a certain way. Certain things in the truck might require different volts or amps. And its only designed to operate on that level of volts or amps. And if you splice into it, it will be pulling some of that power, and then it might not have enough volts/amps to power whatever circuit you spliced into. Thats why they designed alot of the circuits with relays and signal wires. So you flip a switch and the signal wire tells the relay to pull all the power from the battery to power that device. Hope all that makes sense haha. And down the road if your interested in a v8 motor swap, I know you can find the engine, tranny, Harness, bcm, ecu, for like 1,500$ at a local pick a part. I havnt done much research on it. But I know its just time consuming, having to tear your truck all the way down. And you would need alot of space.
      Getting it painted would be sick. Have you ever thought about wrapping it? Its cheaper, and you can always change it like every 2-4 years when ever you get bored of that color. Thanks for all the support man. I'll try to get some more videos out soon 🤘

Some have the center seat folds down into an arm rest. They will have the seat belts Integrated into the seats. Hey, most people take a jumper box, and connect it to the battery cable leads. Then they can move and test the seat that way. I dont have one of those. So I had to use a wrench and turn the seat bracket bolts 1/16 of a turn, at a time. Took forever but I got it. Thanks for the support!

      From The GM Technician Service Manual
      Connector C305 Body Harness To Drivers Seat Harness.
      Pin A, Orange, Battery Positive Voltage
      Pin B, Pink, Passenger Heated Seat Element Control
      Pin C, Not used
      Pin D, BRN/WHT, Class 2 serial Data
      Pin E, BLK/WHT, Seat Belt Switch Left
      Pin F, LT GRN, Seat Position Switch Left

      Basically for the electric seats to work you just need power and ground. Your trucks harness should already have the Class 2 serial data, seat belt switch, seat position switch, ECT. The other pins are not used if your not using the heated seats.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, you need a different lower dash piece (glove box trim piece). The regular dash piece is longer and has the cigarette lighter in it. The newer piece is shorter and contours to the center console. Also you glove box has your vin and truck specs in it. I wouldn't recommend peaking that sticker off. Id just drill out the rivets, and switch the glove box over to the new lower dash piece.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Also I drive with the seat pretty reclined, so it works perfect for me. But being an single cab, you obviously cant recline it super far. And all the 03-06 silverado/gmc's have the same front row bolt pattern, so no drilling was required, it's a direct bolt in. The only thing you should look out for, is some of the 2006 seat connectors changed, and wont plug directly into your harness. So if you buy some donor seats, just double check that the plugs mate up and you will be set 🤘

    So I understand the orange power and black ground one side goes into the plug that plugs into the seat but what did you do with the other side of the wire, what did you splice it into or ? Thanks love these videos and was such an inspiration in my own short bed short cab

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey! Sorry about that, totally forgot to film that part. It just depends how fast or how clean of an install you want it to be. Traditionally the seat power harness goes along the driver side floor and plugs into little box, left of the brake. My box didnt have the pins for the power and ground since it's a base model. You could pull that box out, modify it so there are pins with power and ground. So it's just like factory. 2nd option, you could just use a fuse jumper like I did, its temporary, but I did that because i have to pull my interior back out to weld in a roll cage. The interior fuse box is on the driver side of the dash. 3rd option, you could find a acc fuse or a hot all the time fuse, and splice it into that wire in the back of the fuse box. 4th option, the acc wire to your ignition is right under the steering column, it runs to the interior fuse box, you could splice into that, so the seats would only work when the key is on. 5th option, just run the wire straight to the battery with an inline fuse. And for the ground wire, I showed in the video, there is a factory ground location under the passanger side seat. I ran both ground wires in my harness to that mounting point.
      So I know that's alot to read, but I hope that all makes sense and helps you out!

      Hey, so you can do anything you want, if you put your mind to it haha. But yes you can add power seats to your 2500. • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for the support! For the 07 shifter relocation, I'm not exactly sure about the fitment and all that. That would be something you would have to ask Ty Brink from Remoteshifters.com (or whatever company you were looking at) His website said 1999-2006 with the factory 5 speed nv3500 or nv4500. If you have a 2007 classic, I'd assume it would work as well. If you have a 2007 NNBS, then I would assume it definitely would not fit.
      As for the trim pieces, in the video I show you only need the glove box trim panel. I'd swap out your glove box on to the new trim panel, so the RPO code sticker still matches your truck.

    • @chevygangchan2108
      @chevygangchan2108 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the console will work the same in the 06-07 the reason he says it doesn’t work with them is because it a lot harder to remove the 4x4 shifter in the newer ones compared to the 99-05. You can still do it if you are able to get the shifter out.

So I had to buy a larger splined input adapter for the awd transfer case. Not sure how many splines the nv3500 has, but Definitely something to look at. I also installed a pump rub kit into the transfercase. Id inspect yours if you tear it apart.
      Also depending which version of transfer case you use, they are different sizes in lengths. The np149 was like 2inches longer than my old 261 4x4 unit. So I had custom driveshafts made. A longer front shaft, and a shorter rear shaft. The NV3500 does not use the ~2in extension piece that the 4L60 uses. I measured the component itself and it was same length. However, if the dropout lengths are different, that will not work so
      since you mentioned that, I will have to jack up the truck again or slide under and measure the dropout distance. When I pulled the np149 from a Denali, the driveshaft length was 2 in difference. I will have to do the work and I will let you know what comes out. Thanks

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, for my truck no. Didnt really have a need for it. They could work if you wanted them to though. You will need the under dash air duct piece that has a T in it. So it can connect to the center console.

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, you sure can! I'm sure there will be a lot of people willing to trade you straight up for your bucket seats, as they are pretty desirable. You could always sell yours for a profit too. The main thing you need to worry about is finding the new dash piece (It looks like mine in the beginning of the video, it's one long piece to cover up the hole were the console was). Also make sure to switch your glove box over so your Vin/RPO codes match your truck. One more tip, some center jump seats fold down into an arm rest, some do not. I'd look for one that folds down, just for the extra convince.

    Where you got the power from and grown

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, sorry for the late reply! The power you can get from the little fuse box by the drivers side left foot, behind the little cover. The small fuse panel on the left side of the dash when you open the drivers door, behind the little dash panel. Or you can run it straight to the battery though the firewall grommet if you wish.
      There is a factory ground stud directly under the front passengers seat.

    How did you get the power seats to move in the junk yard?

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, so when I took the seats out, I had zero power to the seats. It was very difficult. You need two people, and some creativity with some wrenches. It is definitely doable though. The back bolts I basicly would turn the wrench 1/8th a turn, flip it over, and go another 1/8th a turn. Learning from my mistakes, I would definitely pickup a jumperbox, like a portable car starter. Then follow the seats floor harness to the driver side firewall, unplug it, and tap your jumperbox into the pins in the connector and you will have power to the seats. Orange is hot, black is ground. If you are not keeping the floor harness, just hack it off 2 feet after the seat and its easier to connect the jumper box to the cut wires. This method, you will have the seats out in about 20min, not 3 hours like it took me. If you don't have a jumper box, you can still get them out, just takes alot of patience. Thats alot of info, hope that makes sense and helps!

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, I appreciate it! The truck currently has the 4.8L V8 in it right now, which is still the LS platform. Yea it won't make as much power as a 5.3 or 6.0. Im not sure if you seen my other video where I heavily modified it, and built the tranny? The reason I decided to build it is because the 4.8 can handle the most abuse/boost/nitrous compared to the others, on a stock bottom end. They are great for junkyard builds, just slap a turbo on it and it just takes it. The truck was supposed to be just a winter daily, and obviously isn't anymore lol, I never really intended for it to be a big HP build. So that's why I planned to keep it NA, then add a 100 or 200shot of nitrous to it. But if I ever decide to turbo it, the 4.8 will still handle the boost great.

    What tools did you need for the seat bolts and the center console bolts? I can’t find it anywhere online

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, the tool needed for the seat bolts are called an E-socket, its like an inverted torx. (I just bought a set) but I didn't have them at the time, which is fine. You don't HAVE to have them. I don't remember which E socket fits them. But I used an 11mm for the back 2 bolts. And a 15mm for the front 2 bolts. You'll need a deep socket for the fronts. I'd definitely use 12 point sockets preferebly. Its gonna feel a little loose on the nut, but those SHOULD be the closest sizes if I remember correctly. Just got slow and press firmly so they don't strip it out. I had to use wrenches on the donor truck, because the seat wouldn't move without power. Anything is possible with enough patience and determination. Hope that helps you out!

    • @launius59

      Thank you, I appreciate it 🙏. If you need it right away, home depot and harbor freight should have a set, maybe even a local autozone, or napa. If you dont mind waiting a week, I personally like buying sets off amazon. I look for the best reviews, and they usually have bigger sets, with better quality than some of the local stores stuff.

    How did you figure out the wiring for the seats?

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you do alot of your own work on your vehicles, I'd definitely suggest getting the service manual for them. Not the little junk Haynes manual. Im talking about the legit industrial manuals that the dealers use. I bought mine on ebay for about 120 bucks. It is a set of 5 thick manuals, just for my 2004 silverado. They are 3 hole punched. (I also have a set for my corvette, about 300$) The pages are super thin, and there is about 1000-1500 pages per book. These books cover EVERYTHING! Troubleshooting, wireing diagrams, remove and replace, engine teardown, tranny teardown, and they also cover every single connector in the truck, and what wires go into what slots/pins in those connectors. So thats how I know alot about the truck, is its all in the book. You could also try googling it and trying to find a picture, but that can be kinda hard sometimes. Hope that helps. I know manuals are expensive and not always in peoples budgets, if you do the seat swap and can't find the connector diagram, just let me know, we can figure something out.
