- A detailed review about the pros and cons of the CBBR250R. This ownership review will give you a better idea if the CBR 250R is worth your time and money in 2017 with the likes of the ktms and dominar in its competition. i have done about 11200 km on this bike since the time i bought it new just over 8 months back.
i am really happy that i decided to go for the cbr 250r. and i do not regret it one bit.

In this video I'm just listing the little issues one may face after buying the bike that no review can tell you about. if you can look past these issues and they don't matter to you then cbr is the perfect bike for you. moreover all the issues that I've listed are easily fixable. I am extremely satisfied with the bike and have no regrets picking this over the likes of duke, rc, continental gt, mojo etc which were available options at that time.

I did a very long tour on my CBR 250 recently. It had an odo of 10,500 km already by the time I started the tour from Hyderabad to Shillong and back all alone.
It has no vibrations, no nothing ,no tantrums,no leaks and no problems. Absolute wonder. The more you use CBR 250 Honda the more you like it and realize how great it is.
The ABS on this machine saved me at lease once ,while returning to Hyderabad. I completed 5500 km tour in about 16 days. When I purchased this bike second hand it had an odometer reading of 5300 km and I could get it for Rs.One Lakh. A service revealed the bike was used very rough and the service cost me 10,000 rupees. After that when I used ,it is costing me about 2300 rupees per service.
Ever since I purchased I had puncture or air leak problem. I did change the front Tyre to MRF which was a mistake because a feeling of floating above 120 kmph speed and the bike sliding towards divider in a four lane Highway while cornering while there were heavy cross winds.
During my recent trip I was fed up with punctures and changed the rear to Contental tyre and since then bike became more stable in corners and I was very happy and very satisfied. I know these tyres wont last more than 5000 km.
I should change front tyre also.
I used RE 500 CLASSIC and Ninja 250cc ( hyderabad to Leh; read in team-bhp.com) and regularly use Pulsar 220f and half a dozen tests I had done on KTM Duke 390. I chose CBR 250 after thorough test riding of KTM DUKE 390. In traffic on KTM I sweat so much and shifted to lower gears like hell and swore that I would not buy KTM 390.
And when I bought CBR 250 I had so many doubts about its power. Mine is going only up to 135 kmph in a nice way and 120 even before I realize but not going above 142 kmph. I do not know about its top speed.
Its balance,its reliability, its comfort is just unbelievable and is far better than Ninja 250 cc which was skidding so much and very uncomfortable.

Gopal Venuraja hey. what u say about 220f. I have just make a long ride on my pulsar 220.. it's comfortable.
I have purchased Pulsar 220f in Nov 2010 . Ever since I completed about 23000 km on it and I never had any mechanical problems with it except regular services. Long riding included 600 km in single day ( up and down) and 300 km many ,many times.
It is reliable. It is also not very comfortable. The seat is narrow , there are vibrations after 95 kmph and it roars like hell after 100 kmph which shows engine is under strain . After heating in the long distance riding,the engine becomes very rough. If the petrol is in reserve also the engine gets very rough. Suspensions are damn very stiff.
And yet in the city with very good lower end torque it is an excellent bike for regular use and there is nothing like Pulsar 220f in the city ridings.
I could have sold it had it not for my wife who would not allow me to sell it. She almost got addicted to it. She refused to sit on Ninja 250 & Honda 250cc and Bullet 500 cc !! Except the Honda 250cc ( for my won reasons) and Pulsar 220 f , I had bought and sold all other bikes including an Honda activa.
At present I am thinking and not able to decide between Honda CBR 650F and Kawasaki Z800 and Benelli 899 !!
I believe Honda 650f has no proper marketing. In the internet I filled up a requested test ride for Honda 650f nearly a month ago and no body bothered about it !!

one interesting part about CBR's bullet proof reliable engine.
I have seen people done 1.5 lakhs on CBR and there is no issues at all.

I always Complained about the Hot weather in my Country and because of the heat I have to store my Bike for more than 4 months, but after I saw your Video and the Rod that you are driving in and the people that don't respect the law or even give way to others....God they even don't care if its RED sign....I would Ride in the Heat than in the Road that you been riding in.
I gave you thumbs Up for the all the good/Bad points that you mentioned about the Bike, I was hoping that we had the Bike here cause that's what I Recommended for my friend as a starter Bike But only now after I made a phone call I found out Honda here got the CBR600 as the smallest Sport MotorBike.

Looks like you spoke of cons more than pros.. No worries, u tend to know more about the bike you own.. KTMs have their own issues which the owners know.. Me too a proud CBR 250 owner.

bro ,my cbr 250r is 2 years old , i got a very rare problem in front wheel or handle i am unable to find it
let me explain the problem : after reaching 40 speed i am unable to move my handle left or right ,it is very very tight
if i reduce the speed to below 40 again its free to move the handle

i am a cbr 250r owner for 3 years and u have really given very good review..same experience..and ur comparison with RC is absolutely correct.
dude, which tyre you suggested for CBR 250r, my current MRF are not working good as it slips while accelerating and are not effective for only rear braking.
Dhravesh Murpana after asking many cbr owners I've got the michelin pilot street radial for mine. I don't know how long they will last but they are extremely grippy as compared to the stock tyres.
Good video bro... i owns cbr250r (2012 sep model).. i have riding her since then.. no issues ... The only problem i face about CBR is the service center...they are crap, expensive and scarcity of parts. (i live in Kerala ). one time my cbr crashed, i would have to wait more than 3 months to fix her up (still not fully fixed).
I also owns RE 350 and Pulsar 180.

Prabhu R I bought the bike in 2016 but I requested the showroom for a 2015 complete black model because there were only cosmetic changes on the 2016 model that I didn't like. now it's available in a black and white combination.

Yes sometimes.... But very rarely mine reaches 3 bar atleast after 6-7km but if speeds are low then it can. Nothing to worry about.

I had a test drive with a stagnated CBR 250 R bike and it was heating quickly for just 10 kms ride. If i have rided in 3/4th track trouser,my leg would have been buring. Even with pants on , I felt really heat on my skin in leg. So my question is , does your BIKE getting really heated up for city short trips ? Is it really a good office commuter ? Please help. Based on this, i will decide to book the bike tommorow or sometime this month. Only that thing is stopping me.
PraSanna Selvaraju I use it daily to commute 40km (to and fro) in the city. It has never heated up. so much so that it has never even gone above the normal engine temperature. it always stays at the middle. and this is the first time I have ever heard of a cbr 250r heating up.

Even the technician also said that since it factory new piston is grinding up first time so does the heat. It will not come in regular running bike. Alright then I'm going to book one tomorrow. Non abs for 1.9 on road in Bangalore. Do you suggest me to go for abs 2.2 Lak? Your input on this call bro?
PraSanna Selvaraju i went for the non abs coz I like to get all kinds of crazy on the bike like do slides and whatnot. but I'm scared to death riding it in the rains. id say you should go for the abs version. it's a lot more safer.

nop..u will be very comfy on CBR. With your height, u wont be crouching at all. take a test ride to check it.

Akshay from Mumbai can't really say man. but going two sizes up will definitely lower your bikes milage. but I can't say how much. you'd have to ask someone with a 150r.

Amit Arora .....Pulsar RS 200 or NS 200 2017 are good for touring and they have great performance.
Also the newly launched Bajaj Dominar 400, if u can live with a big capacity motorbike as you are just 18 years old... and if this is your first motorbike start with a 200cc bike.

dominar (non abs) is the only sports tourer that will come in 1.5L
actually the sports tourer category is rather small. it only contains 3 bikes according to me : cbr250r , mojo 300 and dominar. some people also consider duke 390 to be a sports tourer, i dont.

The mudguard part is correct I hv been in touch with few veterans who hv done 50k plus on the bike they hv suggested to add duke's mud flap of front wheel to our mudguard, tho I hvnt done it. But that looks like legit solution.

Hi bro. I bought a second hand CBR 250R last week with ABS. Today when i
was riding at 60+ i applied hard brakes on the rear and it skid! I
thought ABS prevents skidding or am i missing something? Was it ABS
failure or just the tyres? The tyres are 5 years old.

Hi Abhimanyu, I am planning to buy a CBR 250R in a week's time (June 2017). Its a BS3 bike and the dealer is selling it to me at 1.7 Lakhs, with ABS. Apparantly he has it registered in his name and is gonna transfer it to me without any extra money. Please advice whether its any worth.

what is your opinion on ktm rc 200? I'm turning 18 in November and planning a ktm rc 200 in jan 2018, i will be more into regular weekend rides and frequent long trips. Will the rc be a legit choice according to you?
For touring, rc is NOT the best bike. Me and motomonk india (rc 390) did a 500km trip in 12 hours and after that his whole body what hurting for days. You can tour on any bike, its the comfort that differs.

i havent ridden the 200. but i have ridden the 390 and its a fairly aggressive riding position is not apt for long tours. it gets tiring very easily. but at the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference. do not take mine or anyone elses word for it. go and test ride all the bikes you are considering and then decide for yourself.

a completly relatable review :) but the cbr does handle corners pretty well... and about the brake pads it costs 2400/- just for the front on the abs variant ! sigh!!! ..... but still at the end of the day 250r is a bike which ull never regret ... great video bruh !
