Hey Matt, not sure if you’ve seen it yet but Gordon Murray (creator of the McLaren f1) just came out with a video of his new car the T50. Definitely worth checking out and talking about in an upcoming podcast.
I have only driven two real sports cars in my life - a track driving event I got as a birthday present back in the days. It was a 997 GT3 RS anda 430 Scuderia. I drove the GT3 first - and of course I didn't abuse the manual shifter. But I got the hang of it. But DAMN it was a boring car compared to the 430. The GT3 was probably the easier car to live with but every time you pushed the paddle the car kicked you in the ass when the gear engaged. Manual in all it's glory but that was an awesome party trick! Every gear change was a joy, compared to the Porsche - that really felt like just about any other car - just fast. Would I own a 430 over a 997? Never. But man what a car :P So I really get what Matt says about the gears going in so aggresivly.
From what i have found Ferrari has not used a Graziano DCT in any of their cars. The single clutch gearboxes in the 360/F430 were made by Graziano. Mclaren is using Graziano/Oerlikon DCTs. All new Ferraris use Getrag/Magna DCTs. The Ferrari should be more closely linked to the AMG GT and Ford GT gearbox.
I have never been so disappointed in a Ferrari video ever the way I have with this video. Ferrari for the first time forgot to put the soul in the engine.
Matt do you feel the chassis rigidity issue bc u drive 720’s and other McClaren cars which are better would a normal person not having experienced those cars just moving up in class of cars they can afford would we feel it.
Wouldn’t there be a way to find out if Ferrari is using a particulate filter on US models? Or if it’s just a pass through setup where the housing exists but the filter was never installed?
I never understood why most modern cars have such overly boosted brakes. It's so much easier to heel toe with a firm brake pedal and you get better modulation in general

The pass was insanely fast
It has more character and reliability than the 720 and more usable and faster than the Huracan. It’s still the benchmark for me.
Definitely in need of an aftermarket exhaust.
Saw this model in the flesh yesterday in Vancouver. Had to do a double take to realize it wasn't a 488.
I like the watch, Matt!
Can the particulate filter be removed for US markets?
After 458 they all look like facelifts that still looks like a 458
From what i have found Ferrari has not used a Graziano DCT in any of their cars.
Still sounds like a rocket ship. Great GT car.
Matt do you feel the chassis rigidity issue bc u drive 720’s and other McClaren cars which are better would a normal person not having experienced those cars just moving up in class of cars they can afford would we feel it.
How useable is it as a daily if it doesn’t have nose lift. Is it tall enough to not need it. Def needs exhaust
Wouldn’t there be a way to find out if Ferrari is using a particulate filter on US models? Or if it’s just a pass through setup where the housing exists but the filter was never installed?
Do you use a scout car ahead to watch for the fuzz?
The AC must be really good in that Westside Collector Car Storage!
I never understood why most modern cars have such overly boosted brakes. It's so much easier to heel toe with a firm brake pedal and you get better modulation in general
