Although it doesn’t necessarily explain the part about A Diversion and sponsor, just before the album dropped in 2018, TØP held a concert in London called ‘A Complete Diversion’, which was amazing (my first TØP concert 😝)
The “force a sponsor” line in NatN, has to deal with the song Heathens, and the fact that the song was technically written for a movie. I don’t want to go into more, because I would really love another 2hr long video of lore learning, lol.
nah dude. Tyler wrote Heathens before they were reached out to, and it was originally for a future project. He also said that Heathens would have been on trench if it wasn't for the deal. I can find the interview for you, if you'd like.

Y’all gotta think about it. In Neon Gravestones Tyler tells us to find our grandparents or someone of age and to thank them for staying alive despite the many struggles of life and mental illness and problems. That’s how Legend has its place in the album in my opinion. Trench is about having people by your side, people who have your back. Scaled and Icy is about being alone or being stuck but Trench is the opposite of that. You can also apply this to Smithereens because we can say Tyler has his wife Jenna with him. One last thing to note is that in Morph even Josh gets his little shoutout and that’s Tyler’s best friend so I really believe Trench is about community and having your loved ones with you
in nico and the niners when it says sponsors it is talking about heathens and the part that says We'll win but not everyone will get out is referencing the end of the same video of heathens
I actually was certain SAI was not gonna live up to how good Trench was. And thats exactly what happened for me. I just dont click with the pop sound...so i just dont really like SAI. Still love the boys though and i do really like Redecorate.
@@TonyQuinn Its just not an album i can listen to again and again. I have listened to Trench and each of its songs thousands of times. I gave up on SAI the first day. I really have to force myself to listen and theres just no fun in that

Surely a couple years ago you had to think "these people are going to f**king hate me when I upload this, but so be it". Instead though, a bunch of open arms 😂😂
bandito hits so different in concert. it is such a anthem type song it is made to be played in arena. it is so atmospheric it completely changes the feel of the song
dude I struggle with understanding all nico and the niners lyrics since the song came out... and I know the lore. the song is just really loaded with metaphors and double or even triple meanings it's mind blowing
That final rating still doesn't disappoint honestly, though I think Trench is a masterpiece, I 100% understand that view. Really fun re-reaction Brad, top-tier content like always :)
Cant belive you liked the hype so much, its the one I like the least in trench to be honest, it has good production but the song itself is that type of blink182 trash imo. The rest of the album is perfect tho. Cant wait for SAI re-reaction, it really grew on me, only a couple of bad songs in my opinion. And now that you watched the livestream experience, your re-reaction will be great. And it will also the video before you go and see them live, cant wait for that. Hope you volg it or something. Congrats on growing so much lately, you deserve it dude, keep the video flowing and dont be afraid to do a different artist once this top-bradtaeste cicle is over.
When he said force a sponser in nico and the niners it was a reference to heathens where heathens was intended for trench but fueled by ramen forced top to make a song for suicide squad because they didnt want to make a song out of trench zone they just gave heathens which refers banditos and all
huge triggerwarning, but i think tbe razorblade thing in nico and the niners refers to the ultimate goal of vialism, ending your life, at least thats how i interpretate it
Also surprisingly enough I do agree with you about Legend. Such a beautiful song and I replay it so much. And yes, one of my favourites on the album even if it isn't directly related to Dema
I knew about a lot of the lore when I first listened to this album. I was in class and I just started crying when listening to it. My best friend who was in the same class (and loves Twenty One Pilots as well) immediately asked me if I was listening to Leave The City.
Anyone feel like redecorate could be near the end of this album and be pretty great In the story and sound of trench? It’s a great song and a great way to end sai
Redecorate was actually produced by the same guy who produced Trench! that’s probably why you feel it has a similar sound (and why it’s my favorite off SAI)
Before retracting to SAI, maybe check out the most recent Zane Lowe interview with Tyler. He got really specific on his writing style and why Trench had to be what it was after Blurryface and why SAI was not going to be Trench. It’s a pretty long interview at 50 mins or so but a good listen.
I agree with Bandito cause idk its just whayever, also the rap in Nico and the Niners is a reference to Heathens "force a sponsor" Warner Bros because it was for Suicide Squad, "start a concert" the concert the two perform in the music video, "we'll win but not everyone will get out" Tyler doesn't get out with Josh and the rest in the end showing this was the first try to escape Dema and before Heavydirtysoul
@@RevelandSky Yeah no one talks about that but when i heard Nico and the Niners i knew it yet no talks about, they always say listen to Heavydirtysoul, then Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners, Levitate but i always argue listen to Heathens then those four
I love your videos so much. You have amazing comedic instincts, and a heart of gold. I want to once again recommend modest mouse to you. Even if you don’t make a video, I think you’ll find a lot to love in their music. Thanks for all you do!
Bro, are you high? How in the world is Bandito a shrug? Imo it's their best song. Period. But maybe it's because I've seen them perform it live. Ever since I saw them live, Bandito just hits different. Try to listen to it when taking a walk when it's dark outside and you're feeling down. You will change your mind
I think the atmosphere of Nico and the niners is supposed to make you feel like you're in the depths of dema, giving a message of hope to those who wish to escape
I can totally see why people don't get into Bandito, but I cannot get enough of how the song SOUNDS like a journey. The slow build with new elements slowly being added in, the great spoken word bridge, and the final climax after 'sahlo folina' are just all A+ to me. I don't even care about the lore that much and I still think it's a beautiful song (whereas Nico and the Niners is a bit meh for me because it's so lore heavy but I don't find it musically interesting). Also I love how much Brad's analysis of music has evolved, so that he can feel meh about a song but still point out positive qualities and say that it's a matter of perspective. Tho I do still love when he absolutely DRAGS an artist or a song sometimes.
Brad - with the last verse of Nico ,I think u should figure it out but I'll give u a starting point .watch the music video for heathens and think about what happens in it with Tyler and Josh .it's genius .
The rap in nico and the niners you said you didn’t fully understand all the references is theorized to be referencing the heathens video. “Force a sponsor (suicide squad clips), start a concert, complete diversion, we’ll win but not everyone will get out.” It’s literally describing the plot of the heathens vid.”
While I agree that Legend could work as the closer, Leave The City IS Trench wrapped up in one beautiful closer, and it completely deserves to be the final track
The fact that the bishops can't see yellow is pure genius. Yellow represents the color of the sun, natural, true light, as opposed to neon lights in the city. Yellow means happiness, freedom. One last thing to note is that in Morph even Josh gets his little shoutout and that’s Tyler’s best friend so I really believe Trench is about community and having your loved ones with you
Kinda true especially with the phone talk in the saturday slmg. Where tyler wants to be with his wife but he doesnt
in nico and the niners when it says sponsors it is talking about heathens and the part that says We'll win but not everyone will get out is referencing the end of the same video of heathens
Brad needs to see this because this in my opinion is so fucking clever for them
Sai made me realise how good Trench was
Give it chance
I actually was certain SAI was not gonna live up to how good Trench was. And thats exactly what happened for me. I just dont click with the pop sound...so i just dont really like SAI. Still love the boys though and i do really like Redecorate.
@@shahiq_z Same. I’ve come to like half of it but god the other half is boring.
@@TonyQuinn Its just not an album i can listen to again and again. I have listened to Trench and each of its songs thousands of times. I gave up on SAI the first day. I really have to force myself to listen and theres just no fun in that
Same bro
Bandito is one of my favourites 😭😭 but to each their own
are u arabic ?
@@iwad4 no
mate you just need to listen to bandito when driving at night. that shit hits different
Cut my lip is the sleeper of Trench - beautiful imagery important message.
Could you ever have guessed that trashing 85% of a bands music would result in so many of their dedicated fans becoming dedicated followers of yours? Lol.
Surely a couple years ago you had to think "these people are going to f**king hate me when I upload this, but so be it".
Instead though, a bunch of open arms 😂😂
The reflection of the lights in Brads sunglasses subliminally show the patreon logo, Its all planned and the Brad lore thickens!!
Bandito was the first song tyler started working on for trench during the blurryface cycle
bandito hits so different in concert. it is such a anthem type song it is made to be played in arena. it is so atmospheric it completely changes the feel of the song
dude I struggle with understanding all nico and the niners lyrics since the song came out... and I know the lore. the song is just really loaded with metaphors and double or even triple meanings it's mind blowing
"Hahaha they're gonna fucking love that"
This is the single most I think Brad's ever understood his audience
You know quality when you go back to listen after a long break and discover new elements that are perfect.
Still upset that we missed out on getting brad to a live bandito Tour concert
My favorite moments in your newer videos are just the random interactions with Tina
Why does everyone call the Hype a Blink-182 song when it’s literally just Wonderwall lol
Watching him vibing to trench is so nice lmao
That final rating still doesn't disappoint honestly, though I think Trench is a masterpiece, I 100% understand that view.
Really fun re-reaction Brad, top-tier content like always :)
my new favorite pastime is going back to this video and watching him get hype to the hype, love ya brad!
Call blink-182 trash again I dare you
When he said force a sponser in nico and the niners it was a reference to heathens where heathens was intended for trench but fueled by ramen forced top to make a song for suicide squad because they didnt want to make a song out of trench zone they just gave heathens which refers banditos and all
huge triggerwarning,
but i think tbe razorblade thing in nico and the niners refers to the ultimate goal of vialism, ending your life, at least thats how i interpretate it
So this means we're getting a regional at best re-reaction. Right? Right!?
he didnt like vessel so I don't think so
But self titled right?
aswell as selftitled
Please no
Also surprisingly enough I do agree with you about Legend. Such a beautiful song and I replay it so much. And yes, one of my favourites on the album even if it isn't directly related to Dema
Bandito should always be experienced LIVE🔥🔥🔥
Just got here 10 seconds after it uploaded. Anyways love the reaction Brad.
the part when it says "force a sponser, start a concert, " from nico and the niners refers to the heathens music video
Holy shit this blew my mind
Same I liked Bandito when it first came out but after seeing it live it hits so different. Every time I listen to it I just love it more and more
I think the atmosphere of Nico and the niners is supposed to make you feel like you're in the depths of dema, giving a message of hope to those who wish to escape
This album hits this part of my soul I can't identify but I enjoy more than anything
Props for nalbis for creating the fancy thumbnail
Re-react to Radiohead’s okay computer
Man said "THIRTY MINUTE lore video". I think my ass that sat watching it for almost three hours would have to disagree.
Clancy isn‘t dead, that‘s propaganda, they want us to believe that he is dead, but he isn‘t
Wow good video totally finished it in 3 seconds

Brad loving Legend makes me so happyy!
Brad looks like the lost brother of Layne Staley with this hair
Brad literally loves The Hype more than I do
I can totally see why people don't get into Bandito, but I cannot get enough of how the song SOUNDS like a journey.
Brad. Ya need to listen to the Hype - Berlin sessions
The strange satisfaction on seeing Brad saying "the bishops killed Clancy, it's true!"
The rap in nico and the niners you said you didn’t fully understand all the references is theorized to be referencing the heathens video. “Force a sponsor (suicide squad clips), start a concert, complete diversion, we’ll win but not everyone will get out.” It’s literally describing the plot of the heathens vid.”
i like to see Brad happy
you should watch their firefly fest performance
Fun fact: the ending chord of Leave The City is the opening chord of Truce
how convenient. just now i finished the first part
This is my favourite 2 parter on ur channel rn
While I agree that Legend could work as the closer, Leave The City IS Trench wrapped up in one beautiful closer, and it completely deserves to be the final track
