Guns For Hands was about/to their fans. Tyler wrote this song after hearing so many of their fans stories on how the band's music helped them through suicidal moments in their lives.
Driftwood Yes, people can interpret their music however they want but in an interview to Rock Sound Tyler said what I'd stated. www.rocksound.tv/blog/read/track-by-track-twenty-one-pilots-vessel
Driftwood it's supposed to be the link to that interview. I'm on my phone right now so since it happened while using my phone I'll fix it soon as I get on a computer.
Yknow what I adore twenty one pilots. I really do. But I respect your opinion and what impressed me was the fact you edited a 32 minute video. I hit the subscribe button. Thanks for making me laugh
Their top priority is playing live shows. So, I believe certain songs, The Run and Go in particular, is much more enjoyable in its live performance than it is in the studio.
I can second this x100000. Im not even their biggest fan and I definitely wasn't when I went to see them live but h o l y fuck their live shows are just next level. I still fucking hated Car Radio live though lol
I am sock Trees truly is on a whole other level when they perform it at their concerts. Hearing it last after going though all the different emotions that the prior songs bring on...it gives you the most surreal feeling. I wanted to cry when it was over, but I also simply felt content.
ok I know this is kind of an old comment but oh god yes that’s so true. Getting to experience Trees live was hands down one of the coolest moments of my life so far
Every time he closes his eyes, I think that he's trying to physically show that he's bored but a few seconds later I find that he's just feeling the music XD
Your ability to swing from absolutely certain of one thing to something equally as certain about something diametrically opposed to the original certainly, whether I agree with the points or not, is really impressive. It's something seriously lacking in society.
With your Blurry Face review, I actually saw alot of your points and it actually made me see flaws in the songs that I hadn't considered before, but since you were roasting it so brutally, it came off to me at some points just like shitting on things just for the sake of shitting on them, but seeing you go through vessel and show that it isn't actually the case, while still giving good criticisms about it, really pulled me back in. I totally agree that Vessel is far superior to Blurryface, I do personally enjoy Blurryface just sonically, but I agree it comes off as really cringe in terms of lyrics, whereas Vessel has a much better all-round quality to it. I didn't subscribe after the Blurryface video, but I did now, fantastic video. I even like the blurryface one better now that I know you weren't just being antagonistic for the sake of it. My bad for misjudging you, keep up the good work! Would love to see you react to some of their other things. I would be interested to see what you think of some of the covers they have done and the track they did for the terrible Suicide Squad movie.
Brad Taste in Music oop new drinking game: take a shot every time brad says an adverb Also btw i really like your videos ✌ check out panic! anytime you can please
I can appreciate the comparisons between Blurry face and Vessel. Usually bands hit a point where they release an album just for the radio not for the message and that kinda sucks big meaty balls.
Car Radio is pobably the most straight-to-the-point song lyrically. Somebody had actually stolen his car radio, which made him sit in a silent car, with no distractions.
You probably won't like self titled but the lyrics are filled with a lot of emotion. The lyrics are really deep. It's the best album of theirs in my opinion. 'Regional at best' and Tylers solo ep 'no phun intended' have cool lyrics too (especially tb saga) but maybe not as good music. Also please listen to coconut shark in the water. Just everything by them and I'll be happy. But most importantly SELF TITLED!!!!!
One, I really liked this video. I love how you weren't afraid to point out the flaws and than still understand the message and the good points of the song. I've watched too many album reviews to count and half of them never really went into the song, just stuck to the sonic level, which I can understand, but I respect how you went deeper into it than just half-assing it. Anyways, 2, could you do Bastille? I love them, and I THINK you might too. Idk. Bastille isn't the biggest band but I love their sound and them as a whole so, idk, thought you would like to react to them?
I like that you're not a massive fan so you're giving an honest, unbiased reaction. You're not just loving it because it's TØP. Great video really well put together. Subbed 😊
Screen, when there’s 12,000 people in the stadium with you singing together “WE’RE BROKEN PEOPLE” is chilling and hit me so hard as someone who struggles with depression. It was amazing. And trees is by far my favorite song by them live. It’s like a celebration of being alive and it’s what they usually end their concerts with.
OmG tWeNtY oNe PiLotS iS MY FavOrITe bANd IM TRiGgEreD jk, they are they my favorite band but i love the constructive criticism and general honesty you give. I'd like to apologize on behalf of half of the fanbase that gets triggered every .003 seconds
How did you find out of all their interviews the boring one? that's very rare, good job :D Josh was too eloquent there lmao Btw maybe you'd like to watch what tyler said about the album, the video called "Vessel track by track commentary". About the screen thing. I personally think he's saying "i'm trying to be so cool but why? there's a screen on my chest so you can see who i really am".
A lot of their interviews I’ve seen Tyler just kind of wrecks because he’s always nervous, and it’s really obvious in his voice. The interviews are still watchable but it kinda turns me off.
You’re an absolute legend. Instant fan of you bud. I’m a die hard twenty one pilots fan since 2014 and I listen to everything from $uicideboy$ to Simon and Garfunkel. Your opinions of this album and Blurryface are spot on for somebody who really understands music. I hate the part of the “clique” that became fans through Blurryface because they’re the cringy “emo“ folk and the prepubescents who don’t even understand what he’s portraying through the lyrics and even throughout the beat in every song. Can’t lie I haven’t touched Blurryface in over a year yet I still listen to vessel because it isn’t that over the top, look at me I’m depressed and everyone needs to know kind of sound. You’re an absolute clown and the editing in these reviews are hilarious yet very informative and you actually made a 33 minute video worth watching to the last second. Thanks dawg
Troy R. just because someone discovers tøp through blurryface, doesnt make them less valid than the older fans. I'm here from Blurryface, but is it my favorite? no way!! am I an edgy emo? ///honestly nO/// anyway, dont hate on new fans. the clique is supposed to be welcoming and loving. edit: also, I agree. most of the kids don't understand what Tyler is saying... and what makes me upset is sTRESSED OUT AND RIDE. like, give it a rest, okay? they don't know what the songs mean, and it gives the rest of the clique a bad reputation.
Troy R. i can sort of understand where u r coming from but it’s completely wrong to invalidate the people who came thru from blurryface, it was their most successful album so what do u expect? also i’m not emo, i understand what tyler is singing/rapping about however i don’t have depression but i can relate to some of his lyrics (not all).
Im really glad you enjoyed Vessel more than Blurryface. I found them during Vessel and absolutely loved it and was underwhelmed with Blurryface. And you are totally right with the fan base, all of these 14 year old girls who found them during Blurryface has made the entire fan base pretty toxic and super cringy. And I don't think Tyler and Josh expected that at all, since they really did not get huge until about 6-8 months after the album dropped. Overall I really appreciate your reactions because you actually know what your talking about when it comes to production and what not.
Its really cute coming back to this video and hearing him talk about "a girl he is talking with who is a really big fan of Twenty One Pilots". Hmh I wonder who that could be and if it ever ended up working out between them?
i am losing my MIND this shit is hilarious and i agree with a lot of your opinions. with the blurryface reaction video though, it really made me start wondering about if their next album will be even worse because i really agreed with the whole "im not on the radio but i want to be even though im pretending im not" yknow? and in my opinion that album certainly was not their best work and im sure a lot of fans can agree but yeah i hope they do better in the future. GREAT content my guy
I loved this video from the first five minutes. I loved the editing style and it made me smile and laugh way too much. Enjoyed the insight and review/reaction you had to each song. You have definitely earned a sub and a Twitter follow from me. Keep up this awesome style, man. \m/
Man I have some mad respect for your quick way of analyzing the music+lyrics so well. I've been loving this album for over seven years and u managed to show me some new details of the album.
Just like the last TOP based video, I loved it. I'm really glad you decided to give Vessel a try and i hope you really enjoyed it! Like you said in the video, most of the fanbase came after the BF era and push that to the day they'll die probably. I also really appreciate that you give credit where credit is due. "The albums great! But these two songs are a little rough" or statements like that are hard to find in reaction videos since most reactors are trying to please the given audience. You're genuine and i dig it, if you want check out their self titled. Its pretty dark, if not darker than Vessel but in a more poetic sense as opposed to blurryface. Really enjoyed it dude, you got yourself a new subscriber. (Also im glad im not the only one who likes to pick out what effects artists' used on their instruments/vocals, if you ever wanna nerd out tg let me know)
dude you're so funny, the other two Albums are home recorded btw not overproduced shit like Blurry Face . Most Songs you liked have a Original Version on the RAB Album btw, would be nice to hear your opinion of it. Also Guns for Hans reminds me more of Killers song tbh, Tyler is a huge fan of them. When you do the Self Titled, you also get the Muse Vibe it was also recorded with the old band members.
Marti i’ll agree that the other three albums are better than blurryface and blurryface was kind of a disappointment compared to the others but i still enjoyed the album, i think people only give it a bad rep cuz it’s overplayed (which is fair but that doesn’t take away the fact that it’s still a good album, u may have just gotten sick of hearing it 24/7)
The fact that you liked Vessel is good for me. Blurryface was based off of a character that Tyler (the singer) made, so the album sounded different then what Self-title, Regional At Best, and Vessel was. The new album should be different then Blurryface, just looking at it. Also, you got a new subscriber, cause.. *dog barks* SHUT THE FUCK UP DOG!
I understand what your opinion on the character is, and I support that. I feel like they could've a little more with it, but I like the other albums better so :/
Idk ehy but in some way you remind me of jacksfilms. Like idk what it is about you but you do. Anyways I really liked your reaction. I like the fact that you’re honest about your feelings about things you like and don’t like and don’t pander. That’s something I like with reactions.
Really glad that you got this much recognition in the last weeks Your reaction videos are legitimate the only reactions I can watch front to back due to the editing it keeps things more exciting, so keep up the great work man!
I genuinely enjoy these videos. Listening to people honestly pointing out the flaws in top's music makes it so much better to listen to. Thanks for not just pretending to love it for views.
YES TREES IS ONE OF THEIR BEST SONGS! Thanks for acknowledging it!! You should see the video of it live, they do it as their last song and it always gives me fucking CHILLS
I'm so glad you gave Vessel a chance after Blurryface! I'd love to see you also listen to some of their unreleased songs/ones not on albums, like Time to Say Goodbye, Two, and I Need Something
yeah I totally feel your frustration with blurryface lmao. I was introduced to top through blurryface but I haven't gone back to it in like, a year. it feels like a compilation of singles and it doesn't have the playful fun the other albums have
Brad: I'm sorry for the people watching this hoping for me to beat down Twenty One Pilots, because i haven't been able to do it yet. Car Radio: I'm about to end this mans whole career
i kinda agree with your comparison between vessel and blurryface. they wanted to reach to a bigger audience and lost their sound, tried too hard. but with trench they have overcome that "phase"/period
This might seem weird cause I just came from the blurryface video but I really enjoyed that review. Josh has anxiety so isn’t really good at good at speaking. He actually got an emotional support dog for it. I think blurryface is the least favorite of most people is because it is overly produced. Everyone deserves to be criticized and I loved this review. I’m glad you liked this album better. Edit- I totally agree with the more subtle darkness and I can’t believe how much I agree with someone who doesn’t like them. Edit- someone actually stole his car radio in College. He listened to the radio to distract from his thoughts. Once the radio was gone he had to deal with them. I definitely get why the song isn’t for everyone but a lot of people like it because they connect with it because they have “depression”. Using music to get through things is what a lot of people do.
I’m surprised people thought you didn’t give Blurryface a fair try, I thought you were extremely fair the whole way through, including this one. You can tell fans just make excuses because you’re saying negative things about something they like.
I'm a twenty pilots fan and not gonna lie, after watching this video and listening to your thoughts, I too believe blurryface just wasn't that good an album. I only really like around half the songs and always found myself going back to vessel and their self titled. The lyrics alone on those two are much better than blurryface the music is the icing on the cake. Nonetheless great review. Looking forward to your future videos.
As a Synth head myself You my brad friend are the window upon which i perceive the Sub-Neon world. I would have never separated 21 pilots from the zeitgeist. So thanks for that, I have an interest in the wider music genres but my taste drowned in the Retrowaves. 💀👌
Your editing is what sells your videos. The editing is so well placed. Like it feels like the editing is just placed randomly but at the same time it feels like it was placed perfectly. It’s genius. It’s hilarious. It’s perfect. Right on m8
I can't be the only one who thinks you kinda look like Tyler Joseph tho?! I also just recently saw a video of you and I already love your content, your editing makes the video so god damn funny. You should definitely have more subscribers. (Also I saw that you liked every comment and I love that, it shows how much you appreciate it)
Nice to find a Vessel review, saw them randomly while touring for this album and they performed an amazing show. Been a fan of this album ever since. For one of the drum solos, the drummer was on a platform that was hovering over the crowd (edit - the solo was Trees)
Brad, I'll tell you something and you can do with this information what you want: one of Josh Dun's biggests fears is talking in public and he's very self-conscious about the fact that he's not good at it, so we generally leave him alone and instead make fun of Tyler.
I think you just like the happier sounding songs and you don't mind the sad piano parts. I understand, That's what I thought at first as well. But now I see Tyler's purpose through sad parts, to let us know that we don't have to forget the sad things.. we just leave them behind and pretend like everything is fine. I know I sound really cringey and you're not gonna agree but hey, We're one big family and we shouldn't hate on eachother.
I want to watch a video without editing tbh 25:56 btw the "guns into a fist" line, you fight with fists, so it's basically like defeating what you're going through instead of letting it win.
Although I disagree with a lot of the things you're saying being in the clique, you're genuinely hilarious especially with your editing holy shit I'm yodeling
Omg I just discovered you, I thought I had heard every reaction you could find on YT, but your reaction was so sincere and your editing was so dank I love it! Anyways I'm really looking toward watching your Self Titled video!
I honestly love this reaction so much, you were so genuine and honest about the album and your editing cracked me up, thanks for a little light to my shitty day lol. Anyway, I really do suggest the Ode To Sleep music video, Twenty Øne Piløts show a part of their journey throughout the video and even half of the video is them doing it live while the beginning is the track and it's pretty dam sick. Also, if u want some deep shizzle along with some of the sound being dope I definitely suggest their Self-Titled album. Idk if you'll like the beats sometimes but the sounds are amazing, you should really check it out if you think this is feely. Let me add some more suggestions too. So Tyler's solo ep is probably the deepest songs I've listened to in a while and some got so dark I just had to pause and think about my life. Others not so much ;) (so that means I obviously suggest Coconut Sharks in the Water and TB Saga). So if you have the time for it, do react to No Phun Intended. Ok I'm done now, BYE!!
Guns For Hands was about/to their fans. Tyler wrote this song after hearing so many of their fans stories on how the band's music helped them through suicidal moments in their lives.
It's all good. Thought you'd like to know the true meaning behind it is all. :)
Goofyanimal It’s not the real meaning, they said in an interview that it’s whatever you interpret
Driftwood Yes, people can interpret their music however they want but in an interview to Rock Sound Tyler said what I'd stated. www.rocksound.tv/blog/read/track-by-track-twenty-one-pilots-vessel
Goofyanimal Huh! Well, new TØP info is new TØP info. Thanks for telling me! Also, why’d you link Brad’s Patreon in your reply? I can’t donate anything
Driftwood it's supposed to be the link to that interview. I'm on my phone right now so since it happened while using my phone I'll fix it soon as I get on a computer.

Andrew Gill Oh trust me it was
trees was also the most amazing thing to grace my ears live

ok I know this is kind of an old comment but oh god yes that’s so true. Getting to experience Trees live was hands down one of the coolest moments of my life so far
Did you know there is 127 do’s in “the run and go”..........
Also I agree vessel is better then blurryface
Yes
boblet_fr0nkl3 Even worse than “before you start your day”?
The icarly bit omg... 😂
YES
That killed me hahaha
Every time he closes his eyes, I think that he's trying to physically show that he's bored but a few seconds later I find that he's just feeling the music XD
THE EDITING IM CRYING THIS IS AMAZING
Agreed
He should bring it back
Your ability to swing from absolutely certain of one thing to something equally as certain about something diametrically opposed to the original certainly, whether I agree with the points or not, is really impressive. It's something seriously lacking in society.

I’d be die from alcohol poisoning
I love Tyler’s pained laugh in migraine when he says “cause sometimes to stay alive you gotta kill your mind”
Shit slaps
Went from 😬 to 😅😳
That part always sends shivers through my body every time i listen, its so good
I always thought Ode to Sleep sounded like iCarly too. Now I don't feel as insane for making that comparison
i love how blurryface effect is a thing now
am sø dun with life oh my josh ur name is gold

When he says he has a screen on his chest he's clearly referencing about him being a teletubby
I can appreciate the comparisons between Blurry face and Vessel. Usually bands hit a point where they release an album just for the radio not for the message and that kinda sucks big meaty balls.

Bro Ive been saying how he looks like tyler😂😂
I always thought he looked like him
he's like a forgotten sibling of his or smth

Why can I see it????
You probably won't like self titled but the lyrics are filled with a lot of emotion. The lyrics are really deep. It's the best album of theirs in my opinion. 'Regional at best' and Tylers solo ep 'no phun intended' have cool lyrics too (especially tb saga) but maybe not as good music. Also please listen to coconut shark in the water. Jemina Isberg aaaaaaand he hated it
Ok I’ll never get over this, but some moments, you legitimately look like Tyler Joseph
iCarly killed me, and I really agree with most of your opinions!!! And for me, Migraine has best lyrics!

i’ll agree that the other three albums are better than blurryface and blurryface was kind of a disappointment compared to the others but i still enjoyed the album, i think people only give it a bad rep cuz it’s overplayed (which is fair but that doesn’t take away the fact that it’s still a good album, u may have just gotten sick of hearing it 24/7)
Holy shit that killers comparing was 10000% accurate. I wondered what this song reminds me of while I was listening to it
I cant listen to guns for hands without thinking about those bass boosted drums anymore
*dog barks*
SHUT THE FUCK UP DOG!
I understand what your opinion on the character is, and I support that. I feel like they could've a little more with it, but I like the other albums better so :/
I appreciate the amount of effort you put into these videos. Good shit
Idk ehy but in some way you remind me of jacksfilms. Like idk what it is about you but you do. Anyways I really liked your reaction. I like the fact that you’re honest about your feelings about things you like and don’t like and don’t pander. That’s something I like with reactions.
Really glad that you got this much recognition in the last weeks
Your reaction videos are legitimate the only reactions I can watch front to back due to the editing it keeps things more exciting, so keep up the great work man!
Brad Taste in Music yeah the difference between an average reaction video and this is night and day
"Radio Bitchfest"
Lmao I started dying of laughter, you deserve way more subs, love your content!
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HATES HOW FUCKING LOUD THE KICK DRUM IS IN THE RUN AND GO
I’m glad you like this album 😊
how have you not got more subscribers? this video was so fun to watch and i love your opinions and your honesty
I genuinely enjoy these videos. Listening to people honestly pointing out the flaws in top's music makes it so much better to listen to. Thanks for not just pretending to love it for views.
On to Self Titled you go boi
Can you also react to their self titled album?
YESSSS
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
he just did, and he fucking hated the second part of the album.
I can’t stop rewatching this video
"so there's this girl i talk to"... and now they're engaged! oh how time flies lmao
Heyyy idk if u remember me but whatever. I'm glad I stuck around to watch more of your vids. I love seeing positivity from you and Idk why.
I LOVE YOUR EDITING AHAHHAHH
Car Radio is absolutely insane to see live. Twenty One Pilots in general is insane to see live. Love this video, you are super funny!
yeah I totally feel your frustration with blurryface lmao.
My god that video is perfect, like, i have the same opinion. Good job, keep doing this
You blowin up, that's good, fantastic
i kinda agree with your comparison between vessel and blurryface. they wanted to reach to a bigger audience and lost their sound, tried too hard. but with trench they have overcome that "phase"/period
Omg I have watched this video way to many times lol
BUT WAIT, WITH BRAD, I CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH
you're freaking hilarious and I'm not even joking, your editing is everything
Appreciate your opinions and i still like the honest reviews. Keep it up man. Also i strive to have eye bags like you 😍😍

Tyler: on my left side brain.
Brad: puts his finger on the left side of his brain.
Love you braddy keep up the good work im proud of you
As a Synth head myself
You my brad friend are the window upon which i perceive the Sub-Neon world.
(Also I saw that you liked every comment and I love that, it shows how much you appreciate it)
MEandMy LIFE HE DOESSS LOOK LIKE TYLER
Nice to find a Vessel review, saw them randomly while touring for this album and they performed an amazing show. Been a fan of this album ever since. For one of the drum solos, the drummer was on a platform that was hovering over the crowd (edit - the solo was Trees)
Brad, I'll tell you something and you can do with this information what you want: one of Josh Dun's biggests fears is talking in public and he's very self-conscious about the fact that he's not good at it, so we generally leave him alone and instead make fun of Tyler.
Back after the re-reaction! How opinions change...
You need to listen to "Taco Bell Saga" and "Coconut Sharks" by Tyler joseph ( the lead singer of Twenty one pilots)
The Last Piløt Those songs are... ugh
no, no he doesn’t
The Last Piløt YES HAHA
Yaaaassssssssssss two of the best songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no lol tb saga is highly racist
I think you just like the happier sounding songs and you don't mind the sad piano parts. I understand, That's what I thought at first as well. But now I see Tyler's purpose through sad parts, to let us know that we don't have to forget the sad things.. we just leave them behind and pretend like everything is fine. I know I sound really cringey and you're not gonna agree but hey, We're one big family and we shouldn't hate on eachother.
The line starting at 10:05 is honestly pure genius
I want to watch a video without editing tbh
25:56 btw the "guns into a fist" line, you fight with fists, so it's basically like defeating what you're going through instead of letting it win.
14:44
The progression of his emotions is everything.
Yes a honest good reaction vid really funny to watch too great editing great vid
4:38 thats how he writes his songs bruh. like poetry
i just had an epiphany: car radio sounds like gabbie hannah
Really loving your content man!
You’re really funny! It’ll be awesome if you react to the rest of their albums!
man you are amazing
I like this video more than the blurryface one. You should react to regional at best...
Can’t wait to see it then
I honestly love this reaction so much, you were so genuine and honest about the album and your editing cracked me up, thanks for a little light to my shitty day lol.
