@@TheCookFamilyHomestead I live in the Central Oregon Cascades. I keep my current firepit covered and use it year around. Last week we had 20 inches of snow and 20 degrees. Oh, a meal cooked on an outdoor fire is the best. I cooked a roast in my Dutch oven.
You should add more rack or a couple of pot holders. When you start a cook, a pot of beans or Chile to almost done. swing it out of the way and swing in the bottom rack for hot dogs or steaks. You can add a few racks and cook an entire meal at one time.
Leaving the post able to rotate would have been better imo. The grate won't just rotate sitting there, then is needed, just swing it out of the fire ring.
This doesn't help me at all. My firepit has rocks around it, and this isn't mobile at all. You couldn't take it camping with you and just sit it over a fire.
Thumbs up from Australia. Well done, kind Sir.
