How to Easily make a Beautiful Chess Set- The Board and all the Pieces!

Making a beautiful chess set using maple and walnut veneers for the board and solid maple and walnut dowels for all of the chess pieces. I show various woodturning techniques on the lathe, including a method to ensure each type of chess piece is similar in size and shape. I also cover an easy way to add weight to the pieces to give them a very high-quality feel.

Shop Safety:
In some of my videos I will share my experiences regarding shop safety. This is based on my knowledge and understanding, however ultimately you are responsible for your own safety so you will need to determine how to properly operate equipment in your shop to maintain your safety. You may want to consider taking some woodworking classes at your local college or craft center. Some Woodcraft stores around the US also offer classes on woodworking.
