      I mean just look the ingredients and look where they coming from, like synthetic or mineral origin, or something like that, just see each of them that you don't know and put into Google and see what it states. as I said if it's synthetic or mineral oil (cause mineral oil is used for so much other ingredients that have different names and they are all not best for the skin only like trapping moisture and making the skin smoother, but other more natural ingredients may do the same and give more benefits). also a lot of cheap preservatives used that are not the best

      Henna is a 100% natural hair dye. My scalp still reacts to this plant powder. I need to use neem powder mixed with it (2 tablespoons per one-time). My scalp gets red and irritated without neem. Just avoid color "black" which is said to contain carcinogenic ingredients.

      I'd be even more scared of the PPD in hair dyes than of the parabens, to be honest. Even though parabens are bad. PPDs are the devil.

    Thank you …so glad to finally have a doctor like you who is giving such wake up call to consumers . I would say 99.9% of consumers don’t bother to look at the ingredients . Most just go for “hot” products , assume that as long as products are in the market , it means they have cleared by FDA and meaning they are safe!
    I am so appalled by how product makers for the sake of making profit are misleading consumers in so many ways and totally having no ethical
    Conscience to human’s health

    I have just used the exact same foaming facial cleanser from your video & I have had an instant reaction. I only used a small amount, but my whole face was red raw, tight with big blotchy white hives. My face/scalp/ears were all tingling. My lips were swollen, my eyes were burning... then I started to really panic. After taking antihistamine pills, rinsing my face with cool water/diluted organic chamomile tea & sitting with a cold compress on my face for hours, my face finally calmed. I have thrown a brand new full sized bottle of cleanser in the trash, I wouldn't sleep donating it.

    • @emilyb5557
      @emilyb5557 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @RFN26 as a medic I'd say - if you can retrieve that bottle and take it to a medic, perhaps an allergy specialist. Take/keep photos of the effect and write down time line of reaction. The fact your lips swell up is a BIG red flag - if you are exposed to the same allergen again you might have swelling impacting your airway (breathing) especially if you you had any swelling of lips, tongue or roof of mouth. Reactions can be worse each time in some people.
      You need advice on which of the ingredients to avoid & have on your medical records as allergy.

In the absence of parabens I wish to know what ingredients to look for in ensuring a water-based product has sufficient preservatives to keep it from growing mould and microbes which for example in mascaras are a risk for infections and blindness. Would you give a list of effective preservative ingredients in organic makeup?

      Thanks for watching! It’s great that ELF doesn’t use these ingredients, and is widely available & affordable. We have to look at the ingredients as a whole to determine safety. Sadly, the majority of their ingredients are highly processed making them less than ideal. I’ve linked 3 brands in the Description to give you an idea of the ingredients in truly low tox products 💜

    • @dryvonneburkart

      Excellent question! “Fragrance” is often a hidden source of endocrine disrupting phthalates, carcinogens, and allergens. Not to mention, it’s unnecessary in a lip product. If anything, “flavor” would be more appropriate since some may be ingested.

    Hi! I'm very thankful for your TH-cam channel. I'm a soon-to-be dad and I've always been weary of hormone-disruptors for myself, but now even more so for the baby. I've already ordered a bunch of Ecoriginals and Eco Pea Co diapers and wipes in anticipation of him. What are your thoughts on plastic in toys? What about materials of baby clothes? I'm sticking to mostly wooden toys from LoveEvery and organic cotton for the clothes. Tons of research to do and I would love some of your thoughts on this in your future videos.
    Also, any recommendations for non-toxic makeup brands? What are your thoughts on fluoride in toothpaste and water as a toxin?

    • @dryvonneburkart
      @dryvonneburkart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! I’m glad to be of service and so pleased to hear how much action you’ve already taken before your baby arrives 🙌🏽 I would avoid plastic toys as much as possible due to endocrine-disrupting chemicals and heavy metals. Babies put toys in their mouths and could be exposed this way. Untreated wooden toys would be the gold standard in my opinion. 😊 I’ll make a video about baby toys with safer options. I have several videos on my channel about makeup and skincare 🤩
