I’ve had no issues since. Driven about 1500km since it was changed.
I am vey curious as to what actually fails on this connector??? There are no moving parts or electronics other than the fixed male pins, right?
There is a small chip on each of these connections, appears to be the same chip that can be found in the cruise control switch which I have also replaced. They get old, get hot, and act up.

What does that affect the car with ?
This connector allows all the different modules to communicate with each other.
