Writing it out does help with retention. Thanks for sharing all of this. I never thought about gathering and putting it in my Bible.
Yes, writing things out really does help! I saw a huge difference when I started notetaking and journaling things that I learn. And whenever you go back to that book in the future, you will have all your context there already to add to!

Very good system you have and I admire the way you study the Lord's word.I pretty much do the same thing with a couple of different versions of the bible and a couple of bible commentaries and quite a few composition notebooks I get at the dollar tree,keep the faith and thanks for sharing😅😅

Anybody know where the Israelites were before they were enslaved by the Egyptians? I’ve always wondered but haven’t seen any explanations. I like how you study and because I’m old and my memory is atrocious I think I’ll try your method.

The Israelites were in the land of Canaan before they were went to Egypt. Read Genesis chapters 37-47 and Exodus chapter 1. This explains how they went from Canaan to becoming enslaved in Egypt. In Genesis 37:1 it says Jacob lived in the land of Canaan and from there you can follow the story.
