I’m fixin to get one of those rifles soon and stretch it out and see how it does. Those Bergara rifles are the smoothest action rifles I’ve ever felt and seen personally. Never shot 1 before but looking forward to doing it.

I highly recommend reading a thread called "Bergara B-14 HMR problems" on snipers hide before making the mistake of buying a Bergara. I have a B-14 HMR in 308 and that thing is the biggest hunk of junk I've ever owned. The thing will average maybe 1.1 MOA for 5-shot groups with the best load I was able to work up over a 2 year period. I had to send it to Bergara twice to get repair work done on it. The first time they didn't fix the problem and sent it back without even telling me. I had to pay the courier to hold it or it would have been returned to sender. The 2nd time it came back with corrosion all over the bolt and some in the barrel as well. I told Bergara about the rust and asked for a refund. They called me a liar and refused to give me a refund even though I'm 100% sure there wasn't a speck of rust on the gun before I sent it to them. I keep all my guns in a safe with a dehumidifier. I shot that gun regularly and always checked it with a borescope after every range session. They also didn't fix the problem the 2nd time.
Anyway, I am just going to sell that gun and buy a Tikka. I have a CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor that averages under 0.5 MOA for 5-shot groups with every bullet I've tried in it.

@@michaelhill6451 thanks for the advice and insight on Bergara rifles. Never held a Tika or know much about them but I’ll definitely look into them and go from there.

Looks like a B14 base HMR, not a wilderness. Still a nice rifle tho

Good video, not the Wilderness model. No camo painted stock or spriral fluted bolt.

Looking at this for my first bolt action. Mostly targets, maybe a little hunting one day. What do you think? 6.5 creedmore? .308? 300 win mag?

Recommendation is short action if a beginner

6.5 Creedmoor. In my experience it is a more accurate cartridge (by a large margin) compared to 308. Definitely stay away from 300 Win Mag if you’re a newbie. It has a lot of recoil and will probably just give you a flinch you may never get rid of and the ammo is so expensive you’ll probably rarely shoot it and when you do you’ll feel bad.

About to pick up a B14 HMR, but I’ve heard from someone they had an issue later on down a year later after with their 6.5 creed Bergara. Any thoughts if anyone’s had any issues with theirs?
