  • This will be the final update on my 2013 Nissan Altima 2.5SL. I will not be getting rid of it, only using it as a spare car for here-and-there trips. She has served me very well over the past five years and I can't really complain about the ownership experience.

I have a 98 Nissan Altima with over 300k miles and still running strong. Key was proper maintenance.

Hello. I really appreciate your review videos on this car. You really got your money's worth with this car and to buy it for 15K that's a great deal!!! I had an Altima 6 cylinder and it was a beautiful car. I drive a Honda now and it's not as comfortable as the Altima was and it has had mechanical issues as well. I sold my Altima only because I inherited the Honda and it didn't make sense to keep both cars and the Altima was older. I need a car with AWD and I don't like SUVs so I have been looking at getting another Altima now that they come with AWD. I'm tired of hearing about all the HATE that the Altima gets in the auto community. The Altima is reasonably priced and they are good looking cars. Everyone brags about the Camry and Accord but Accord doesn't come with AWD and the prices on the Camry with AWD border on extortion. An AWD Camry is close to 45- 50K, there's no way a Camry should be priced at 50K. I will definitely consider buying another Altima. They say that Nissan has greatly improved their CVT. I never had a problem with the CVT in my former car. Just wondering, do you still have this car?? And how is it running??? Thanks for the update.

I still have it :). I bought a bmw to replace it but still use it as a daily driver to work and stuff. 225k just took it down on a 6k mile cross country trip. Comfy and averaged 37mpg on those bigger rims!

@@mkecarconnection3808 Hi. That's great. Please continue to do updates on this vehicle. You are teaching many consumers about Nissan. It's always good to have a real time testimony about this car. I always ask myself, "If this car was as bad as people on social media say that it is, Nissan would be put out of business"....Also, I love the interior of the Altima as well. Much better than the Honda Accord. I noticed the size of the glove compartment in the Altima is much bigger and functional than the one in the Honda Accord. If you view other videos on TH-cam, there are many reviewers you are honest enough to speak out on the CVT transmission issues with Honda and Toyota cars as well. Thanks for your reply. Please keep giving us updates on your Nissan Altima and if I decide to go and get the AWD ALTIMA, I will let you know. Thanks again for your reviews.

I got the exact same car almost 5 years ago for a great price!! I got it to 100K miles last year in September, sadly the transmission went out close to 110k miles. I love the car a lot but I’m going to have to let it go 😔

This is what happens when you MAINTAIN your Nissan! Most Nissan owners neglect these cars then will go cry to Toyota or Honda (those cars will fall apart too without maintenance).

You have taken great care of it and it shows. How about under the hood? CAT? Transmission? Oil Leaks? CV Axle? Radiator? Any replacements? How often did you change Trans oil? I just got a 2015 SL with 59k on it. Thanks for doing these reviews!

@@mkecarconnection3808 My 2010 Altima had the P0420 at 170k which did not go away and needed replacement sadly. What was your remedy to that engine light? Cataclean? It's amazing how yours is at 218k in such a good condition. Kudos!

I have another 2015 Nissan Altima with 272,000 miles on it today. To get rid of the catalytic converter light. Get an induction service. Get BG product air intake cleaner. Run the cleaner through a vacuum line to your intake manifold. That will clean all the carbon black residue in your intake manifold. It will also clean your oxygen sensor as well. Clean out your throttle body through the opening when you press on your acceleration peddle. All of that carbon residue will fall down on top of your pistons. Use bg44k cleaner in an empty gas tank and fill your gas tank all the way up. That will clean up about 40-45% of the carbon that fell on top of your pistons. It will also clean any carbon deposits on your fuel injectors. Thank me later 😂
