    I’m late to the party here, but just wanted to say it’s great to get an honest take on these boards without someone hellbent on justifying a historically very coveted board in the Sat75. Currently own a Bakeneko60 and an Alas (obviously different form factor than the builds above). I think as much as I love the Alas and don’t regret the purchase, I’d be hard pressed to convince anyone it was worth 3x the cost of the bakeneko. I now see CK is planning what looks like an injection molded $80 bakeneko, Eloquent Clicks has a weighted gummy o ring 60% at

      Yeah crazy when I think about those tofu builds. Love where we are now. There’s a Sat75x btw, if you are interested. Going the path of the Bauer Lite.

      @@benfromsgabsolutely, it’s a great time especially for newcomers for this hobby! I did see that injection molded Sat75x, admittedly not my preferred design aesthetic or layout these days, but so stoked for that to come to market. I’m curious if it will do anything to change the original’s secondhand prices.

    I have a JRIS75 and it's quite nice, have WS Heavy Tactiles and DCX Garnet on it with the thin layer of case form an plate form only and it sounds quite nice. Cool idea for the video and great review! I also have a GMMK Pro with flex kit and after a lot of work it sounds pretty great now as well but all the mods over the years have pushed the total price to close to the Sat75 and it definitely isn't that nice.

      @benfromsg  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Love what you said until the part where you spent mods on a GMMK Pro that totals a Sat75? Dude. Why.....?

      @@benfromsg Ha! I ask myself the same question. I think I just got obsessed thinking I'm going to make this keyboard flex and sound good no matter what. I need to replace the stabs at this point as they are trash but otherwise it's pretty flexy and sound quite nice but I spent way too much time, effort and money. I did learn quite a bit... most importantly, just buy a nicer board next time :) As I have played guitar for 40 years I've had a few cheaper ones that I made really nice... in the end though, I could have just bought a nicer one to begin with, which is what I do now on that hobby as well. Live and learn.

      @@MarbsMusic I can see where you are coming from. I had a GMMK Pro myself and kinda lost hope after the foam kit I got made no difference. That was when I jumped off that ship. Live and learn indeed. Cool guitars you have too, from what I peeked over at your channel! Trying to save up for a Taylor myself. I play the acoustic casually from time to time and love the bright but slight mellow sounds of my friend's Taylor. Haven't forgotten the sound of that particular one. Must be tough on you, having two hobbies that suck so much money out of you ha!

    Fun to watch video, it’s cool what you can get as a budget option these days compared to gears ago, I would totally skip the first two and jump to jris if I was new.
    I get the Sat75 is the high end board of the bunch but I think it has also fallen from what it used to be, a 7v blows the sat kinda easily and you ste really gonna consider spending that type of money just for the looks.
    But people like knobs, that’s the point!

    • @benfromsg
      @benfromsg  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I agree. Most "premium" boards are falling out of the limelight. The real separation from the mid tier boards are really the ones with very distinct, niche and abstract designs. Think geistmaschine, werk, AM studio and Mode. Comparing features, the mid tier boards are plenty good for 90% of people and there's no good reason to spend 500+ on a firsthand Keycult (unless for a collection) today.

      @thekeebman 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@benfromsg I would have to disagree, respectfully. Every "level" of keyboard price level are for different clients.
      I think ALL prebuilt keyboards are absolute trash - a custom board is meant to be built by the user. It's like buying a prebuilt PC versus building your own. Building your own will always be more satisfying and more personable. As for the "budget" brands (Yunzii, Epomaker, Nuphy, Rain75, etc.) -they don't come close to Neo/QK. Their quality and customizability rise high above any other "budget boards", in regards to their build quality and overall performance per dollar.
      As for the brands you mentioned, geistmachine is beyond "premium" - it's for the exclusively high-end buyer, uncomparable to any other brand. AM studio is an absolute joke. They make meme boards, that sound horrible. Mode is the only brand that I don't hate - they make decent quality boards, with solid build quality.

    To me the best 75 will always be either the gok 7v or the tomo (typing on the 7v right now lol)

    • @benfromsg
      @benfromsg  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've had the Tomo before, it's a good looking keyboard, but can't say that I love its typing feel. Would love to try out the 7V some day though!

      @@benfromsg 7v plateless is a little bouncy which is perfect for me. Sound wise, I will always recommend to go plateless since it actually sounds pretty terrible with plates (unless you got fr4 or pp plate cut out for you)

    Have you tried AJAZZ AK820 PRO? do you think GMK81 is better? I can't decide between these both rn 😅

    • @benfromsg
      @benfromsg  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well I would go for the GMK81 because it’s aluminum haha. I think it would feel more premium than the ajazz and I don’t really use knobs that much. But if the knob is important to you, then the ajazz is what you want. Sound wise I can’t comment because I haven’t tried either!

  • @samdeur
    @samdeur หลายเดือนก่อน

    Why bother with sound tests if you’re going to fill the board with foam.😂😂😂 it’s not going to tell us anything useful..having a good baseline to distinguish a board no foam sound test is needed afterwards modding is allowed

    I appreciate the work you put into the video, but for me it was too long. Seeing you do the four finger test of each switch, with every keycap on every board got boring after a while. Yes, the idea for the video was good. I hope in the future you can find a way to make it either shorter or less monotonous.

    • @benfromsg
      @benfromsg  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, that part is more analytical and boring, but most helpful for those obsessed about sound. Perhaps I’ll just keep it to 2 switches in future instead of 4. Abit too ambitious for 4 😅
