Ive been diging deep into the functionality depth on the MK2 Anyone want in depth tutorials on functions, settings and practical uses. Hit a thumbs up. Im thinking about giving tutorials on every aspect of the Mk2. Hope yall want it
ive wanted a 505 since i heard about it 4-5 years ago, but always 'talked myself out of it'...(kids to feed, bills to pay..yadda)...Music used to be my entire life, but then life went a different path, had to get a 'normal job' to compensate...long story short, playing in bands became an absolute 'nope'...and to be quite honest, the job pretty much killed my drive for music altogether. I Still have that creative 'itch' though...i literally purchased a 505 yesterday and should be arriving in 3 days..im very excited...yet also scared...the internal questioning dialog begins asking: "what u gonna do? sell a million records now? hmm?.. u gonna be able to quit your job and still manage to put food on the table?"...when faced with all that internal BS, i simply replied "Nope!"...i have no 'plans' for this...but i am extremely curious what "I" personally can achieve with it...i have no expectations of it changing my life entirely...but...what if??? ....bahh..just kidding...i'll probably only use it a few times and turn round n sell it on ebay..................or will I?
I can relate. I bought the RC505 about 10 years ago and needed to do a fund raising campaign and then needed a big discount from my friend who worked at a music store to get it. And the fund raising took 2 months (time which I used to start reading everything I could find about looping). I can honestly say the RC505 really changed my life a lot and I am very happy for the things it taught me and the path is set me along. Here's to hoping you use it a lot more than just a few times.
Bro, idk y but i feel like i could watch a whole series from you where you just get progressively closer and closer to the camera😂. Thanks for the video!!
That would, of course, be a series I would be totally into. But I find that once my face is actually touching the camera I can't get any closer. So that's kind of a limitation. Maybe there's some way I can think outside the box.
@@LiveLoopers 🤣, maybe find an animator and once you get close enough the video shifts to inside your body and one of your body cells is DJing for your other cells, like that movie Osmosis Jones!
What kind of budget do you have? I had something like this for use with my RC505 for a while. It was good while it lasted. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/B210D--behringer-eurolive-b210d-200w-10-inch-powered-speaker
That's a very good set up. I used that set up for a couple years except ipad instead of iphone. It works really well plugging all those great sounds from an idevice directly into it.
Thanks for this video! If you have a second, I wonder if you could help with an issue I've encountered. I've plugged my condenser mic, piano and guitar into a mixer and then I'm going from the stereo out of the mixer into the L/mono input of the loop station. The piano and guitar sound exactly the same but for some reason the quality of the mic is not the same. It's as if there is a boxy, extra mid-frequency which is slightly grating to my ears. I've tried so many things to fix this but am yet to solve it. Any thoughts? Much appreciated!
Hey man, thanks for the humor ;) Btw, how could I connect a midi keyboard with RC-505? Should I connect midi to my PC first and then connect the midi and PC through the USB port?
If you want to loop the sounds from your keyboard send signals to your computer as normal and rout the audio from your computer into the RC505. If you want midi clock and control funtions sent to the RC505 from your keyboard plug the keyboard directly into the RC505. I don't know enough about it to know about getting both.
I got some SBN Lifestyle music videos right here on my channel using the RC-505 that I use with a Roland JD-XI, and they go together really well. All of the sounds are coming from the Roland JD-XI, and the extra fx are coming from the Boss RC-505, with some fx also coming from the Roland JD-XI. I been saying this for a long time, but I am going to revolutionize these stand alone synth/drum machines. I'm going to put the Roland JD-XI on the map, and when I either get an mpc one, mpc live or Maschine plus, that's when it's really gonna get crazy. I got tons more stuff on the way, these are just unedited/uncut vidoes with mistakes and everything. These are nowhere near a finished product. You can find some of these on my playlists section under SBN Music Videos/Instrumentals. Welcome and enjoy...SBN
@@LiveLoopers Oh hey man, yeah I just want to show people that their are tons of possibilities with the Roland JD-XI and the Boss RC-505, or any other stand alone unit if you put in the time and effort. These are only music videos of me messing around and messing up, because I have this thing that alot of people probably won't understand, maybe, but I am doing this to get over my perfectionism and procrastination all at once. I know this is hard to "believe" or trust what I'm saying, but I actually cringed uploading every one of these to my channel, but the message that I am conveying with this is that so many of us wait for so damned long, and we try to hard to get every single part perfect, at least for me that's how it is, and I know that perfect is not real, there is no such thing, but I have a ton of beats, songs, cinematic type stuff that I have yet to put out. The only thing holding me back in a way is the workflow, it's still not how I like it, but it's still not an excuse. I'm waiting to get either an MPC One, the Live, or Maschine Plus stand alone, then it's really on. Anyway, I got alot more stuff on the way, and it ain't gonna be this rough draft/unedited music with mistakes and all stuff anymore, that was just a phase that I had to put myself through. Be on the lookout for much better material, because it's coming...SBN
@@natanmandala - I can relate. I have a ton of really bad mess ups on TH-cam too. I just see them as stumbling blocks along the path to getting better. I hope you will let us know when your finger drumming is added to the mix.
No. Not at all. If you fill up your 99 memory slots with songs and you want to free up memory then there is a USB port you can use to save your songs to a computer, but otherwise a computer or laptop are not needed at all to use the RC505.
Hey man - this is a great video. Really useful info and reminds me how awesome the 505 is. If it had a few more assigns, and could be controlled entirely with your feet, I'd probably consider ditching the rc300
There are many good choices for people who prefer to loop by foot. There are some pretty good foot control options though it you'd like to get a better foot controller. But at that point you may as well get a foot controlled looper.
And help I don’t know how to use this!!! lol like where do I start!!! So excited I’m so new to music. I got into a bad car accident where I can’t work so I gotta learn and work on my skills and practice!

If you haven't bought one yet, check American Music Supply. They have a couple of units that are listed as returns that are discounted. But I just received mine and it has never been taken out of the box - it is obviously brand new. Can't explain it but I saved about $100
Sorry. It will vary depending on what your needs are. You mostly need quarter inch cables to plug into the RC-505, but what you will need on the other end will depend on what you're plugging in.
