Don't negotiate with terrorists, try diplomacy, but seeing as the military operation was literally hours before the deadline, obviously diplomacy wasn't working, so they clearly did the right thing
It's not obvious that diplomacy was not working - because that would continue to the last minute before a deadline, typically. But that does not change anything, a military operation can not wait until the last minute. And it worked great, they did the right thing.
Diplomatic solutions aren't even considered in negotiations. They just say no and load the rounds so obviously its not going to work if its never adhered to.

I love the sheer courage of Mossad agents - always there when needed , they're more fearsome than CIA on some points . Props also must go to the Israeli commandos for undertaking an almost suicidal mission and succeeding in rescuing almost all the hostages .
