That's the saddest thing about this story. One poor man, trying to help the boys, swam further and further into the cave just to place an oxygen tank. He began to lose air but was determined to place the tank safely. The fact taht he had to die is extremely sad and proves her cruel the world can be sometimes.

And is it his non existent parents voice that asked him to lead the boys into the cave? That coach just want to impress the young souls showing the cave that he just discovered and came up with the idea of an initiation ceremony. His stupid act confirms him to be an idiot endangering the lives of others - the boys and rescuers.

Both men have vast cavediving experience suited for this exercise

It was a really tense time. I remember being extremely worried for the boys when this incident happened. I would pray for their safe return day and night. It was a really happy day when we learned that all of them were safe and sound.
It's just heartbreaking for the family of the hero diver who died. He's the one that needs to be remembered. The boys were so lucky. But the heroes are all of those who put their lives on the line to rescue them.

All of the people who went there and help the boys, they're all heroes. A little or big help is still a Help so they're all heroes. They helped one another to rescue the boys. And to that one diver who died, hats off sir. You will forever be remembered. Sacrificing your life in exchange of the life of the others is truly an amazing act. Sir, be happy on heaven. Before watching this video, I thought this incident was just another 2-3 days long of rescue and that the boys just fell down from a ledge in the cave and got stuck down. Now that I watched this, it sounded more serious. Thanks for making this informative video.

For everybody calling the kids "stupid,";
The Summer monsoon season hasn't begun in late June for over three decades.
It usually doesn't rain more than a couple inches until at LEAST the second week of July, and so nobody can really be blamed for thinking an excursion inside a cave system they'd all explored numerous times already every year would remain dry enough for at least three more weeks.
They we're extremely unlucky, not stupid.
Late season rainfall is minimal, (2-3 inches at a time,) and far between until at least July 14th.
(There is even a giant sign, installed in 1984, at the cave entrance warning against exploring AFTER July 14th.)
Even they knew it would likely rain that afternoon, but only a couple inches, max.
By every metric the risk of the annual monsoon season starting on that particular day was almost completely zero percent.
They're lucky to be alive.

I’m not calling them stupid because of the rain. Ofc no one knew it was going to rain but I’m Thai myself and Thai people already know not to mess with the grounds of spirits. They should’ve knew that and the coach’s teacher knew himself but still went for it. Every Thai person knows not to go the grounds where the spirits lie. Well now these kids learned their lesson.

The part that portrayed the death of the navy seal was such a poor handling of the death of an actual real person. *goofy voice*: "I.. NEeD to GET AIr NoW" come on. The situation was way more complicated and he made a heroic sacrifice. This video makes it sound like he's the bumbling goofball of this whole escapade. He deserves more respect than that.
