Thank you for your awesome narrating! I am a farmer, and I do not have time to sit and watch these videos. But I do sync my phone to the tractor radio and follow along while I am working the fields. I glance down from time to time to see what you are doing, but it is easy to follow along without watching because you describe things so well. We have a 3000ft grass runway on the farm. It is a holdover from the 70's when my dad, his brothers, and my grandfather all learned to fly. I took flying lessons on the grass strip in a 152 when I was a teenager, but the plane got sold before I finished. Our farm family now has 7 young guys that live near and work on the farm, and we all want to learn to fly! We are hoping to have a few good years and get together on a plane! Thank you for the inspiring videos! -Chris
Happy Father's Day from a Happy Father ! Work , the beautiful word that builds families & dreams. Thanks for embodying this for so many others brother !
As a measure of your success on this platform Mike, the fact that you have only 150K subscribers (which will be 10x that number before long I'm sure) yet get 33% of that in views within 10 hours of posting, is testimony to your draw power. Clearly your fan base are like me, and can't wait for your content to be loaded, and watch it at the very soonest opportunity. On that I truely wish you had a full time camera person, following your whole day, and an editor cutting and posting it daily. Not to increase the production quality, it has a charm and is relatable as it is, but to increase the turn around and frequency of your inspirational and compelling content. I'm sure what you accomplish each day on your many projects would still compress into and captivate us for 20 to 30 minutes - the very next day.
Hi Mike, absolutely love all your videos. In my opinion you are one of the most enthusiastic and passionate guys on TH-cam and find watching your videos educational and interesting. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see Scrappy in the air. 🙂👍
Mike, You really hit home when you said "even if you have some of your family members that you are not getting along with, still tell them how much you love them." I got a divorce over 8 years ago after 29 years of marriage and my three sons who live in Western NYS have gradually distanced themselves from me. I live in S.E. NC. For Fathers Day this and last year I did not get a single phone call from any of them. It's hurts beyond words and breaks my heart. I've been a great father to them and after the youngest got to 21 I got the divorce so it's not like I abandoned them at a young age, and to make it clear, they were not abused in any way. My point being, if you are the offspring and find yourself in similar circumstances, please tell your dad or mom you love them. It means so much to a parent to keep a relationship with their children. I love your channel Mike Patey because I can relate to your love of flying. It was always a dream of mine to become a pilot but have not realized it. I'm 65 now and financially unable of afford it so it's too late for me. Chase your dreams people, and never let go. Happy Father Day to all the dads.
I’m sorry to hear about your hardships with your family. Breaks my heart. I hope that healing is in your near future for your and your kids’ sakes.🙏🏼 Thank you for your gentle reminder. Best wishes to you.
You guys just make me smile - what an uplifting video to watch in every way! Mike's almost child-like (no insult intended - I wish I could still get this excited about ANYTHING!!) exuberance for the tasks at hand (and the bouncy-house paint booth, hahaha!), Chandra's big beautiful smile & positive attitude that just radiates, all the friends that come over to lend a hand, and not the least of which the AMAZING workmanship and engineering that's going on here. This should be shown is schools EVERYWHERE today, because THIS is how it's done - how LIFE is done! Within one generation, we'd probably solve 90% of the world's problems just showing Mike Patey vids to youngsters in classrooms across the globe. So much to learn in these videos - how to WORK, and how to LIVE! And it's FREE for anyone to watch! Thanks, Mike and Chandra - friggin love you guys!! 👍🍻

One of the best things about Mike's videos. Is that you can see that everyone works together. To get stuff done. Sharing knowledge with each other. Sharing shop space, and tools. Or just plane helping each other out and teaching the younger ones. We need way more of this in the world!
Hi Mike. Great enthusiasm. Thanks for including your family. I am sure your wife ups the thumbs up considerably. Scrappy is going to be a wonderful flying experience. Thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!
I really can't get my head round why people give a thumbs down. Are they jealous that you have a beautiful wife who works magic with fabric? ( My wife makes quilts, but she hasn't made me a face mask yet!!!! )
Attention to every minute detail is evident in your work, Mike. Thank you for bringing us this video. It's always special to have your "life partner" helping in the work. They inspire the best in each of us. I am excited to see the progress on Scrappy. I look forward to the day when we see its first flight.
Nice work ! At least the good Mrs Patey didn't have to rib-stitch. looking forward to the paint job. I enjoy the covering phase of RC plane building. Full-size. you don't have to worry about the shrink forces distorting the structure and messing up your carefully built-in washout like I do !

Incredible talent and energy... The precision in all steps of the carbon fiber work is phenomenal.. I've learned a lot from seeing his work and got me doing a little carbon fiber work of my own to build in an additional safety factor to a small pressure cylinder.

encryptor, go, do it, make it happen. The same infectiously positive people had an effect on me, too. 61, learning to fly in a Van's RV-12 I just bought. I thank folks like Mike and Mark Patey, Trent Palmer and Cory Robin to do the video's to show us how much fun it is. Follow your dreams, turn them to reality.
You have me so tuned in. I love seeing things being built. You are teaching me a lot. You really should start teaching in a hands on program! They will learn earn a lot. Great job! Your infectious attitude is super awesome! You are a gold nugget out there!
@Chandra SlyFox Patey It's good you don't suffer from *"Hanger Jealousy".* Mike spends more time figuring things out, building and working than anyone I have ever known. I've known some musician's wives that thought their husbands put in way too much time practicing and rehearsing, but I doubt any of them could rival Mike for time spent on his passions. Each of you having your own projects gives both your "Me" time, and makes the "Together" time that much better. I seriously doubt you two are ever without subjects to talk about.
David E. Burden Absolutely true. The hangar houses my airplane as well so I’m down there fairly often anyway. Sometimes I even get him in my back seat!! 😂😂
@Chandra SlyFox Patey If he doesn't have Scrappy ready in time, maybe you can fly him to Kansas for the awards. Hope to see you there, it would be great to meet you both.
Wow the dedication Mike thanks for giving us this treat taking the time to edit and post this great content for Fathers Day, by the way have yourself a great Fathers Day with your family. Kudos Mike.
Thanx for all the techniques, tricks, and "stuff", but most of it for your happines, smile and the joy your puting into your "things" !! can't help but smile whille watching your videos !!! keep up the good work and warm greating from French West Indies !!
Mike, I love your happy smiles and your enthusiasm for every aspect of the project. Thanks for sharing the valuable information. You have a beautiful wife and she does fabulous work. There are many things that simply take girl power to get it done right and with patience and precision. Us guys all know that but sometimes it is hard to admit. Take care and I hope you did enjoy your day off with your family. Hope to see you at Stearman Field in July for the ACCA event.
Another great episode! Something to recite in your head as you’re working... Mixture, Mags, Master, “PARACHUTE PIN”!! This is truly extremely important! Before you exit the aircraft, you MUST Member to put that BRS parachute Safety pin in. I had someone pull my shoot seconds after I got out of an ultralight in the 80s. I had just landed and was just getting my helmet off and was about to grab the pin to insert it when, POOF😖! Wrote it off to R&D 😎.
Man you make me want to build one! Love your videos, they keep me excited about aviation even when A&P school is kicking my butt. Stay safe and happy flying!
Thanks for the Fathers Day wishes. It was extra special for me. I got to meet my daughter that I did not know I had and she had a baby in October so I am a first time Grandpa. On another note I am so glad I found your channel. You are very intelligent and I love your passion for aviation. Would love to build an airplane like you do.
Gally. I'm glad your back in the sadle. Thought Draco could have been last of your builds. But...you toughed it out, started building again. And what a build it is. Can't wait for the upcoming video's. I'm scrappy happy.

I dont fly, I havent really ever wanted to fly. But watching your videos are starting to change my mind. Really digging the content! Now Im pondering going to get my pilots license.
encryptor Wow!! That’s awesome!! 👍🏻👍🏻
encryptor, go, do it, make it happen.
Happy Fathers Day Mike! I hope it was a great one!
I was about to hit the sack, saw your post Mike and decided nah! Sleep can wait. What an end to fathers day. Thanks Mike, happy fathers day to you.
Same :)
Mikes enthusiasm and work ethic is so contagious!!! I can’t wait to see Scrappy finished!!!
You have me so tuned in. I love seeing things being built. You are teaching me a lot. You really should start teaching in a hands on program! They will learn earn a lot. Great job! Your infectious attitude is super awesome! You are a gold nugget out there!
Thanks for bringing the videos faster. You have turned me from an aviation enthusiast, to a FULL ON JUNKIE!
Good to see the lady that puts up with Mike.
DS Kim He’s a handful... but I suppose I am too. 😆
Ah, the secret to life. Balance.
@Chandra SlyFox Patey
It's good you don't suffer from *"Hanger Jealousy".*
Mike spends more time figuring things out, building and working than anyone I have ever known.
@Chandra SlyFox Patey
If he doesn't have Scrappy ready in time, maybe you can fly him to Kansas for the awards. Hope to see you there, it would be great to meet you both.
Wow the dedication Mike thanks for giving us this treat taking the time to edit and post this great content for Fathers Day, by the way have yourself a great Fathers Day with your family.
Kudos Mike.
I have watched every video of Scrappy's build so far.... God I want to see this bird fly!!!
Thanx for all the techniques, tricks, and "stuff", but most of it for your happines, smile and the joy your puting into your "things" !! can't help but smile whille watching your videos !!! keep up the good work and warm greating from French West Indies !!
in this episode Mike self combusts due to being super excited . Cmon Mike finish the build we need to see it fly !
Happy Father's Day Mike, great video as always, beautiful work!
Mike works harder on weekends than most people do all week!
We’ll both be there, thanks for your comment! 🤠
Scrappy crew members are all here ...glad to make it in
Loving the scrappy build can't wait to see you fly it and take it places.
Just what I needed today. Mike's infectious enthusiasm for working on projects. Thanks for the great content!
Gally. I'm glad your back in the sadle. Thought Draco could have been last of your builds. But...you toughed it out, started building again. And what a build it is. Can't wait for the upcoming video's. I'm scrappy happy.
